Much of the food is donated by local stores or restaurants. They get a ton of stuff into their warehouse. They always go through the daily protocol in the big conference room. You are to wear gloves and a hair cover and beard cover for those with facial hairs. Now you can add a face mask to the attire too. You start the event work around 9am and work until 11am to noon. The warehouse job is the hardest. I have sorted through some rough looking potatoes, to water logged and decrepit looking cucumbers and tomatoes. It makes you really appreciate the foods we can easily pick through at the grocery store to get the most appealing ones. Any sign of mold gets tossed. This is the hardest of the jobs, but also the most rewarding since it's labor intensive too. I have also had the pleasure of assembling sandwiches in the kitchen too, with wheat squares of bread, some meat like slices of pork meat of some sort and cheese too. Volunteering your time and energy is greatly rewarding and so helpful to those in need. This is a great center that gives back ro the community. At the end of your day, they will brief you on how many bags or boxes of food were boxed that day. It's the only day big the original big 3 OEMs groups can collaborate and work together side by side without any intellectual property issues too.

Since it was FREE admission and no tickets required, I thought to check it out. This a nonprofit group of volunteers organized as a symphony orchestra that performs at various locations as posted on their socials (#TMSO), playing public domaine classical pieces. The director is humorous and excellent curator of the whole experience. QUALITY: WOW. Full. Stop. AMAZING, INTIMATE PERFORMANCE. VALUE: No charge. Donations welcomed. For a small fee of $9, I got 15 weeks of lessons. For that price I signed up for 2 classes. The people that work there are kind and the people in the classes are nice and supportive also. I have learned a lot about collages and have been in 2 of the art exhibitions. A great place for seniors to get involved in different activities. The Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc., aka the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, was organized in 2000 as a nonprofit to preserve the Plant & keep it from being demolished. It's a museum & education center offering special programs & events. There are weddings here on weekends. In 1996 it was dedicated & was placed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. We spent about 2 hrs here & looked out the window at how part of this factory was converted to apartments. Over 1,600 men worked here over 100 years ago manufacturing Fords. There are over 65 rare automobiles including Henry Ford's "Letter Cars," unique Model T conversion vehicles, and other antique cars manufactured in Milwaukee Junction. We visited Henry Ford's office and Secret Experimental Room where the Model T was created in 1908. We experienced one of the world's oldest surviving automotive plants through a guided tour led by museum docents.

Not only is every model Ford built at the plant on display, but also competitor's vehicles of the time, including an electric car that Mrs. Ford is reported to have loved driving. There are many surprises I will not spoil. If you love cars, history, old architecture, and friendly knowledgeable tour guides, this is a must see place on a visit to Detroit. Before the meeting started we heard a rousing speech from the director of the Junior Achievement location in Southeast Michigan. The room is filled with office space and business spaces that have been built out by major corporations in the area. Each one is set up, so that, the participants may be able to carry out the duties they will be assigned for their projects. The projects range from class study to lectures to short and long term work in relation to starting a business and setting a budget. Some of the projects include going for financing, then manufacturing and finally issuing stock or offering partnerships. The activities are detailed in their application. Check them out! The building itself is warm and cozy even in the deepest of winter days. The displays are brightly colored and well cared for.

There's definitely not nearly the quantity that you would find at a place like Salvation Army or Goodwill. But that's made up for by the kind people and service as well as the incredible organization in the store. I will definitely be back. The prices seemed fair, and they also had certain items that seemed extremely affordable and reasonable. As you can see from some of the photos, there is a book section, a music section, a HomeGoods area, a clothing section, which actually seemed the most sparse, and other areas like the toy play area.
