When it does we look to the little things in life and see if it can go to someone who needed it more than we do, this is where consignment was something I've done in the past which can be risky but is great tool to sell that item your not totally committed to. Rhea Lana's is the nation's children consignment place that holds events is 25 states and guess what we have one right here in Hawaii and was coincidentally held in the former Toy r us location in Pearl City. I was just taken aback of how much inventory they had!Very neat and organized all sorted with clear signage for all things for kids like clothing, shoes, toys, furniture, books and even accessories for mom like bags and bottles. There was a few items I was interested in but the line was decently long with carts filled with items I though what a great organization this is and is obviously very needed in this community. Through donations and recycling, we can help provide job training and other opportunities! Fourteen local designers (the youngest one was age 10) competed for scholarship funds. They were assisted by Kini Zamora who was on Season 5 of Project Runway! What an honor it was to be in the same room with such talented people! Watching the models on the runway and seeing videos of each designer really made the outfits come to life - especially at the end when the designers appeared next to their creations! We got free parking on King Street after 6:30pm. The entrance to the Neal Blaisdell Exhibition Hall was full of people waiting to get in for the first come, first served seats. Somehow, my name was on the VIP list, so we got to go in early and scored first row seating AND enjoy a complimentary glass of champagne! The pink one was fruity and sweet - thank you! After the show, we had an opportunity to view the items for sale - WOW! Such an abundance! From household goods to clothing and accessories - everything you could imagine was up for grabs! Angel even recognized our Governor Ige! We looked for the plainclothes bodyguards for fun while we waited for Jules to try on some outfits. Great deals, Jules! If you want to go next year, discounts on the $25 tickets are available at the Goodwill retail stores. We got our tickets through Eventbrite and look forward to another productive and fun evening! It's for a good cause!

The person who was there on 7/26/26 Sunday afternoon saw that I had a hand injury. He immediately came over to help me and said I should really rest my hand and that I could've brought the donation over when I was better. He was so kind. Thank you for the aloha that you showed me. Visit often because some days it's a treasure trove and other days slim pickings.

Located on the Ground Level of the new Civil Beat Plaza, the Grand Opening was at 9:30am on 9-1-23, Friday. The long line was formed way before 8:45am when I arrived. I parked in the free, open surface parking lot on Wilhelmina Rise, which filled up quickly. Free Refreshments, chances to win gift certificates from nearby Kaimuki businesses (examples: Chubbies Burgers, Daily Whisk Matcha, Cowcow's Tea, Koa Pancake House, Otto Cake, Broken Rice, Atsuka Nabe & Shabu Shabu, and $50 at The Surfing Pig), live music, and gift cards for the first 100 customers were the draw. At 10am, the first 300 people were allowed in the store. I happened to be #175. No gift card for me, but I got a free Donut from Zippy's, and a raffle ticket! Thank you! I understand the popularity of vintage and secondhand items, and all proceeds do go to the church, but the pricing has become more and more ridiculous that I wonder if they even sell anything besides the truly unique items. Quite a number of items are priced near or more than the price of it brand new. An example is a very used Cooke Street Aloha Shirt from Costco. NEW at Costco is $19.99. Here, $15. Starbucks Ceramic Tumbler $28. Here, $19. I feel the people pricing the items follow eBay prices, or checks how much it is brand new, and then goes from there depending on condition. It's like those people at garage sales where they get super upset and offended when you bargain, and they start telling you how much they bought it for, how it's "barely used", how "high" quality, how they spend their "hard earned" money, and etc. Then in the end, you just give a polite smoke and kindly say, "okay, no thanks." It's the same as here. Just take a look, and then "okay, no thanks. Bye!" It's hard because there are a lot of unique items and do want to give support, but it's not thrifty!

There is even a section of succulents near the front counter potted by someone from the congregation. The shop is open on Thursdays and Saturdays. So military bases sometimes have thrift stores....how cool is that!…read more Since I like to support our troops and save money, this place was a god send for me (hold your horses, I know proceeds dont fund the troops). Yes, you need to have military access to come here and if you have that you're golden! They had some of the best prices I've seen on the island, I found a vintage Def Leppard shirt for $2 and otherwise found really cheap clothes to wear to the beach and work. It was double punch day when we went so I took part in that and gave the card to my friend who is local. All in all, one of my favorite thrift stores on Oahu!
