This goodwill is among the biggest on the island. It definitely seems to be the best-stocked. The clothing is very well organized and I almost never have to struggle to find what I'm looking for. They also have a wide selection of household goods, books, records, toys etc. The staff is capable and friendly. The men's selection is great, and the women's clothing section seems even better. I wanted to go thrifting like I used to back in Seattle but this place has a very limited selection and items are just scattered on the shelf. I didn't see anything really great I would consider a thrifting score. I don't want to come off as having high standards for the type of business I'm frequenting but I've just see other locations with much better upkeep. On the positive, I've dropped off items here for donation in the past and they make it very easy and a breeze. read more

parking was terrible! had to find a meter, that then ran out.... because me and my keiki went nutso in this place! moving from the mainland i tried to stock up on tee's (mostly surf for my 8-year-old) and couldn't find much for under $8-10 in discount or thrift! then 2 days ago, we hit this little beauty.... looking for organizational helpers... ended up with a huge bag of clothes and a couple fun trinkets for the boys... love it found a lot of great quality surf shirts, and the like, for $1.99. awesome. errand done. read more

This place is huge! As with many thrift shops, patience is key. I found some great dresses and skirts (J Crew, Banana, even Maggy London) but it took me about 3 hours to comb through everything. read more

It may have been luck (well, it always is with a thrift shop, I guess) but there were some GREAT things the day we went to this Goodwill. Fabulous, brand-new, boutique-ish purses, cool toys (that weren't all nasty), good clothes, lots of .99 paperbacks, interesting household items.... Parking is pretty difficult here just because its located on a crowded street. I usually come here when I need something cheap for a costume party or a school project. They have a really large selection of assorted clothes and related items for super cheap prices. I'll admit, you do have to dig a bit to find something good but its quite fulfilling when you finally do stumble upon it. read more

The one thing that irks me about this location (and a couple of other Goodwills) is the stupid bollards in the front doorway. I'm guessing their a loss prevention deterrent of sorts, but the Beretania Street store has none to speak of, and it's just down the road!! The bollards are too close to each other to maneuver around, and i'm sure it's an ADA nightmare of sorts to remove them to let in wheelchair bound customers. read more

Other than the in-consistent pricing, this Goodwill seems to be under-staffed. There are two cashier registers and when there's no one there to pay, the cashiers disappear literally. Other than having to wait until a staff finally shows up, the main problem is that customers' checked bags are often left unattended. And since the back of registers are directly facing the main entrance, anyone can grab the bags easily and leave. I once politely checked my bag and it was left unattended. I waited at least 10 minutes to get my bag, but no staff showed up at the register to officially "release" my bag. I lost patience, just grabbed my bag and go. Not saying there isn't good deal, but anyone can grab any checked bag and go. That's insane. Next time if I was asked to check bag, I will just tell them it's unsafe. read more

No parking to really speak of. Inside it was quite nicely configured. Big, clean, and organized. Staff was engaging and helpful.

We have a new house so we need basically everything and my 14 yr. old suggested we check out Goodwill and we've made numerous forays and scored everytime, steel-framed chairs for a $1.00 each, a $20.00 computer desk, stoked!!! We've mostly been getting household items but my two little girls have been checking out the clothes recently and there are definitely deals to be had. There's 5 parking stalls saved for Goodwiill around the corner, just follow the sign in the window on Waialae. I remember when that store was "National Dollar" and "Ben Franklin" and "Thrifty Drugs" was also on Waialae. read more

This is a great store. I rarely leave without a "find". Recently I purchased several floral vases for my homemade arrangements for visiting friends or family. I also find great clothes that are usually broken in a tiny bit. Many items were half off on that day with right tag. read more

This is one of the bigger Goodwills on the island. I like browsing through stuff here when I have extra time to look around, but like all thrift stores, it can be hit or miss. It all depends on when you go and what you're looking for. You'll rarely find anything up-to-date or trendy here or at any Goodwill, but once in a while, you'll come across an unused or barely used item you'really weren't expecting to walk away with. My boyfriend and I frequent this store often looking for unique items, artwork, antiques, vintage clothing or vintage furniture. We have always found awesome pieces here. We went one day and bought some items, as we were leaving we decide to look in the glass case near the registers and my boyfriend saw a musket he wanted to look at, so a female younger Filipino worker brings it out for us to look at then goes back to ringing up other customers. During that time we decided we didn't want it and got the attention of a Caucasian elder female to put the item back for us. We exited the store and was a block away crossing the street heading to our car, when we hear a female yelling "HEY WHERE'S THE STUFF". So we tell her that it's in the glass case we gave it back to another woman because you were busy. She didn't believe us, so we head back to the store and she says we took the item. Than she looks in the case and says, "ohhh nevermind". So we ask to speak to a manager. While we are waiting, she's telling her story to a large Polynesian stock guy, whom then becomes irate and starts to try to intimidate my boyfriend, by telling him "why your girlfriend gotta talk to the manager for". I was embarrassed and angry. This has happened about 3 years ago and I can still remember it like yesterday. We have not been back to that store since. My boyfriend said to me the other day let's go look at goodwill kaimuki, I said I will not give our money to place with such bad customer service. They get 0 stars from me. read more

i dig the waialae goodwill! they have a HUGE shoe selection and i always find a pair of shoes i like. a few days ago i went and found a pair of 3 inch espadrilles, brand new for $6.99. can't be beat! i was excited to buy these to replace my crap ass pair of shoes i bought from savers which BROKE after i wore them no more than 20 times. boo. I should also add my mom has found DOC MARTENS (her favorite) at the beretania street goodwill in various colors and in great condition. im glad they now have things organized by color as well as size, it's a lot easier to navigate than it used to be... occasionally i find some nice clothing items, but to be honest i prefer Savers for clothes. the boyfriend likes to come here to look at their music selection and pick up blank tapes and the occasional button down shirt. read more

Prices ridiculously high! I love Goodwill, and this used to be a great store, however, what the heck happened? ----the prices are suddenly way too high. You can't even look through clothing racks because they are so stuffed--who wants to pay $15.00 for a (non high end designer) dress or sweater at a Thrift Store?! Even the Forever 21 stuff is overpriced. Everyone is complaining and the staff who are normally very friendly, are embittered (I hear they are jerking them around on OT pay). The new Target stuff that gets donated is also over priced. I want to support the mission, but seriously folks, the stuff is "donated" I will boycott this store and stick with the Beretania Store---where prices are more reasonable and consistent. read more

Come on Goodwill, $9.99 for a used women's dress. If you are supposed to be to help out the poor, they would be better off buying a brand new dress at Ross for the same price. Bathrooms are disgusting and the dressing rooms smell of pee. It makes me so mad when I go into thrift stores that are supposed to be about charity, and their prices are outrageous. Only good thing is, they do have a 1/2 off color, which makes prices in the affordable range, if there is anything good left to find, and they still are the cheapest thrift store chain out of Salvation Army and Savers in Hawaii, The last 2 have priced me out. I won't even go into them any more, I get so mad at their prices. These thrift stores are making bank off of people unwanted items. Also, the surplus store has some good prices, at times, but it is a Zoo going into that one, and you have to fight the mad Phillipino rush (they fight over things, run, push and shove), and stay there all day long getting huge piles of stuff. read more
