This store is not organized well so it's hard to find specific things. There's tons of people-you're always trying to maneuver around someone. The checkout lines are long because they don't have enough cashiers. You have to wait quite awhile. Prices are too high for used things. Goodwill used to be a place we could buy things at a great price especially since they sell thing a that were donated fee to them. But shoes for $25.00? Clothes falling apart. What is the good in this will you tell me? Prez makes like $230k so I guess a lot goes there. I go in to buy household items and clothing for people in need. It's an ok store to find things, however, I find that a few of the cashier Tyrese and another older woman are extremely rude. when I buy glass or dishes they refuse to use bags and the older woman told me I have to bring my own, I've spent so much money in there, again, for people in need and I am supposed to bring my own bags? I also donate quite a bit. All the merchandise is free for them and yet they act like they can't afford to put items in bags. This has happened the last 3 times I've stopped in there. I don't understand the reasoning or the rudeness. The Goodwill at Mecca is so pleasant and helpful. always wrapping items and helping out. Went here looking for 2 specific items; found a scale for a decent price, but the shower chair they had was super janky. That area of the store was chaos. I decided to check out housewares & kitchen area & found lots of brand new items, but they are priced as such like you would expect to pay in a store that only sells new so no deals there, and then I passed through shoes but they were priced high - I found a pair if decent shape flats at $20 - no way. read more

I always find great stuff here. They have a lot of turnover. The staff works hard here-!!!! They can't move fast enough to open dressing rooms, put stuff away, get stuff out, check you out, etc.... I purchased Head brand bluetooth earbuds for $15. New in unopened packaging, there were about 20 available. They were defective, the left bud does not work. They will not refund my money, I tried one day after purchasing. This is Goodwill policy and I should have asked beforehand but they used to give you time to return electronics and appliances so i assumed this was still true. My advice, if you can't test an item before purchasing, don't buy. They will keep your money. I probably buy stuff at Goodwill at least once a month, for years, this is not good public relations. read more

Definitely one of the better Goodwill stores I have visited in Florida. The store was clean and well organized. Huge selection of women and men clothing - and everything is organized by color, prints, and sizes. I would highly suggest coming here for vintage furniture, as the home section had a huge selection of housewares and furniture. read more

I like going to Goodwill BUT I don't like the trick mirrors in all their fitting rooms which make things look better when you're trying it on in the store, then when you get home and put it on, it doesn't look as good in a normal mirror. If that's not bad enough, here's the kicker, a lot of stores are no longer allowing you to return clothing. None of that should be allowed! It's basically robbing people. read more

Money hungry place. What happened to thrift store pricing? Dirty things should be cleaned or chucked. Why would I buy a toy that is dirty for 9.99 when I can buy the same toy elsewhere new for 10.00? This place is not a deal folks. Drop your donations to a place where it actually gives back to the community rather than suck your hard earned money right from under you. Those bags of jewelry they have for sale are a joke to. Nothing is going to get you rich. There are broken things and costume jewelry that your own grandma would never wear. $30-40 for a huge chunk of junk. My dollars are going elsewhere. Every week Goodwill has a color of the week that is 50% off the sticker price. Corporate has directed the stores to go around and pull all the 50% off items and keep those items in the back, and then bring the items back out when the color of the week changes. I heard rumors that they do this, so I called my local store today and they verified this is true. Corporate has mandated that they do this. Very dishonest and greedy considering every item in the store was donated. read more

I've been donating items to this location for the last year as I prepare to move my dad closer to me. The people I've come in contact with are kind and caring. They took everything right out of my car for me and always thanked me for my donations. When my dad had to have shoulder surgery I had to buy him easy to wear shirts and shorts. I was able to get him everything he needed and when he healed I was able to donate the items. Great location! read more

Hard to say anything bad about this place. Huge store with tons of inventory and well organized. I got a much needed belt and my wife got an unnecessary purse but she was happy and we both enjoyed our visit. I don't think I have ever been to a larger store and was very impressed with their check out situation as well. read more

STAY AWAY if you value your health. Half the shoppers did not wear masks, despite the door sign saying they were required. Clerks would remind folks, but they took out their masks and wore them like a necklace. The most shocking part of this story is that the Mennonite/Amish community were the worst offenders. I always try to hit this place up when visiting the in-laws. Lots of high-end: the "boutique" section is very nice and actually overflows to several cases of jewelry and shoes plus additional apparel along the south wall of the store (near the shoe section). Prices for boutique items are higher, but still fair. The rest of the store is also always super clean and well-organized. They organize items by type like most Goodwills, but also sub-categorize by size AND color, which totally blows my mind and saves me the time of going through entire racks! Housewares and furniture are generally just ok but there are often some kitschy gems. Protip: go to the Manasota Goodwill website before visiting - there's generally a coupon (e.g., $5 off $25). read more

I'm pretty impressed by this Goodwill location. The retail area is quite large and there's an impressive volume of merchandise on the sales floor. I spent quite a bit of time wandering through the different "departments" and found all sorts of things--wall art, furniture, books, movies, records, bikes, lawn care equipment, housewares, shoes, purses, golf clubs, table and bed linens, pet supplies and of course clothing. I visited today (Saturday), about mid-day and was pretty overwhelmed by the number of customers in the store. Luckily, the parking lot is plenty large enough to comfortably accommodate the Saturday shopping crowds. I was warmly greeted by a number of staff members (even outside the store), which was nice. What really impressed me was the fact that every area of the store was well organized and extremely tidy, even with loads of customers wandering through and tossing things about. I saw quite a few staff members tidying up the aisles all across the store. Not only were they actively tidying throughout the day, but it was clear that management had really put some thought into things at this location. For example, the shoes were all lined up by size, with the sizes clearly marked on tags inside each pair. I've never purchased shoes at Goodwill, but if all locations took the time to mark sizes this way, perhaps maybe one day I would! Also, all of the kitchen towels and table linens were hanging neatly on individual hangers, making it a breeze to see them without making a mess. I noticed that many of the cups, dishes, and other housewares were sorted not only by type, but also by color. How lovely! I found a bin of kitchen tools that was practically begging to be searched. As I dug through the container I came across a wonderful gelato scoop embossed with the words "made in Italy". How perfect! A close examination of the price tag revealed the date Aug 1, 2013. I can only guess that the date may indicate when the item was processed. I found this item at the bottom corner of the large bin, and the date was only 2 days prior to my visit. I examined more tags and found quite a few recent dates. Of course I'm guessing at this point, but this leads me to believe that if so many items have been placed on the sales floor so recently, merchandise must move fast here. The way I see it, this means there will be plenty of new items to see the next time I'm here! I observed that the register lines got quite long and moved slow at times, but otherwise found no issues. Went to the Goodwill on SR-64 (Manatee Blvd.). Attendant had an attitude and made me unload the trunk myself as she stood by. Then she said they wouldn't take my VCRs because they needed repair, and made me repack them in my trunk. Then the guy there said they also took cars and commented that my car looked10 years old. I told him it was a current model. He asked what brand it was and I said it was a Maserati. Like I was going to donate a $100,000 Maserati to them. Very annoying, arrogant "service" people that should be replaced with positive employees. BTW, went the next day to the Goodwil on SR-70, donated the stuff, and they were as helpful and appreciative as could be. read more

I refuse to give a star to the goodwill. I went into the goodwill on 17th and Honore sarasota fl as I often do. I am a bag lover and I buy all my bags there. I walked into the store after work because I take the public transportation. I saw a bag I liked and proceeded to the register and one white lady waiting at the register and looked at me and said what's up with the bag. It took me a while to figure out what she was asking. She said could I open my bag it was not full when I came in. I work at an assistant living facility nearby for 15 yrs I was neatly dressed in my scrubs. I spend a lot of money in that place. She embarrassed me in front of everyone in the store. Evidently she did not see when I came if she assumed my bag was not full when I came in. I was humiliated and all she saw in my bag was my uniform and work shoes from when I stayed over by my friend who lived near to my job. I would never ever shop at any Goodwill ever again. This is what you call make America great Again? On top of it I never really got an apology from this lady in the store. When you go to certain stores they put a label on you. I will let all my co-workers what happened so they would never go back to that store again. Will never ever compliment that store again. Don't deserve a star read more

I go to the Honore store a couple of times a month, but today I was so embarrassed by the treatment at the cash register. First of all I believe the policy of Goodwill is that if there is no price tag on an item they will not sell the item. I am sure there are those people that try to change tags, BUT I AM NOT ONE OF THEM. I first wanted to get a comforter and there is just the size sticker on the blanket which was green, I know the items are priced according to size, unless otherwise marked. The cashier said this is down, I said I know and she said it is not the price you think, at which I replied I thought it was the price on the sign unless otherwise marked. She asked the other cashier who also said its down (yes this has been established) and said it is $30. We declined to buy it. After a few other items ran through we got to the cheap little plastic pop corn maker that had three stickers that said 99 cents, at which we get the look from the cashier AGAIN!!!! that says there is no way its 99 cents, well it says it in three different stickers. She turns to the other cashier and says it looks like its been peeled off and on..... inferring that we had changed the price. The other people in line are looking at us and I am embarrassed. My suggestions are first don't presume that everyone is trying to steal from Goodwill, the cashier could of given us the benefit of the doubt and just said nicely, Hey this item has been marked wrong and secondly make sure the people in the back are better trained on pricing items. I think Goodwill is a wonderful charity and I donate regularly to your drop off site, but today I have to say that I am totally disgusted read more
