Wow! When I walked it I was so impressed. They had two floors of clothes. The first floor was more spacious and everything was color coordinated. Then you go upstairs and they had more clothes, shoes, purses and home/kitchen stuff. They only have 2 fitting rooms so there is a line. Sometimes it goes by fast depending on how much the person has to try on. The value is really good since they had popular and high brands of clothes there. Some of them still had the tags on and even tho they didn't have tags on them they were in great condition. Everyone who worked there was very nice. Definitely coming back here again! read more

So after hearing about a goodwill in La Jolla I wanted to check it out. I also heard about long line, so I was nervous about it being crowded. Thankfully when I arrived it wasn't too bad. There was a line to purchase, but it died down once I was ready to be rung up. It definitely is a nicer looking goodwill. The layout was alright, they seemed to have their better brands near the front of the store a a few furniture pieces, but the bulk of the stuff was in the back. They had the clothes in the middle and housewares wrapped around. The workers are a bit or miss as most goodwills. The ones who are helpful were also really kind. I was able to find a few really good items some brand new which is always exciting. Parking wasn't too bad, but I also didn't go on a weekend so who knows during then. Overall, a good goodwill to find time some gems. I will most likely be bs m when in the area again. read more

So yes--this place is crowded. It felt like half the neighborhood was inside catching up in little groups, which honestly, I don't mind. And the staff wasn't the issue either; everyone seemed fine. The reason for the one-star review is simply the store itself. It's small, which means the selection is really limited, and not well organized nor displayed for a good shopping experience. We weren't impressed with how the clothing was arranged. I've been to plenty of Goodwills, Salvation Armies, and resale/vintage shops that organize everything by color--it makes browsing so much easier. If you like a color but can't find your size, you move on. Here, everything felt like a mishmash: no clear sections for sweaters, lighter tops, pants, or dresses, and no sense of season at all. Because the store is tiny and the layout so disorganized, it's overwhelming to sort through anything. Came to the new location and am more disappointed then before. They actually have the clothing marked for sizes, but that doesn't actually help if nothing is in the right location. Seriously nice employees and good deals all around from seasonal home good finds to bags and jackets. It just depends on the day. I tend to find better deals on weekdays than weekends. I also tend to avoid Saturday and Sunday afternoons because the store can feel really crowded with the influx of curious students and non-locals. Not the largest goodwill store in San Diego but has many gems. I found two of my favorite dresses here and a barely used Nike jacket. This used to be my favorite goodwill until everyone found out about it! Lol. Parking: 2 hour street parking. Free parking on Sunday and after 6 pm. Everything is organized by colors and sizes but the aisles are so narrow is almost impossible to circulate around without getting a bit stressed. I found a brand new Nike pink skort for my gym classes. Labels and all. Also got a very cute leather Zara skirt. There were a lot of brand new pieces not my size though. Always a fun place to go and check what do they have. Oh, if you are 55+ do not forget to ask for the 10% discount. Another oh! 7/5/2025 - arrived at 5pm and left at 5:0-pm. Very small store. I called prior to going and spoke to a Frank. I asked the hours to confirm and he said 7pm. I asked if they sell Blu-ray movies and he said they do. I go there and no movies. I ask an employee and ask if they sell movies, like Blu-ray. She told me no. What a waste of time. Don't go here. Poor communication. I wasted 25 min to get there and about an hour of my life when they Frank should have just said no. Go here at your own risk. Decent Goodwill with mostly reasonable prices. I saw tons of clothing pieces for less than $10. There is less of an emphasis on house goods (small section) though. This place seems better for clothing and maybe some shoes. The selection itself was not bad but I do wish they sorted by size. the store is fine in itself but the older mixed lady was EXTREMELY RUDE. she cross examined me about my college because i asked for the student discount . she said shes never heard of my college and asked for the address like a psychopath. sometimes I do forget these people have no lives and no career and this is all they have but for 2$ off I don't need to be cross-examined with an attitude like im lying for 2$. this is a new store and it should be having very nice welcoming people work here not old grumpy ladies. she also asked my mom if she had a senior discount because she's an older lady and then when my mom asked what's the age, she wouldn't tell her and said give me your ID. This Goodwill is tiny and tidy. You don't need as much time here to get through all the clothes as other locations. Maybe 40 minutes if you're used to spending an hour at other ones. (Wait, is it just me who spends an hour at Goodwill?!) It seems like the clothes here are slightly more upscale (i.e. not as many t-shirts for events/5ks, etc.) and some did not have as much wear and tear (I did notice the mens shoes were in really good condition). But other than that, I don't think the items here vary tooooo much from the other locations. Parking wasn't too hard to find. There are several of 2 hour/90 minute parking spots, though you may have to walk a block or two. read more

I usually don't go to Goodwil, but my friend (he is a guy) gave me good review on it, like he found a good pair of pants here for 3-4$ only. Maybe there is a good men section, but for women size xs-s I didn't see here anything good. Or worth the price. Well, there were not so many items size xs-s. The clothes present here by the color, for some reasons, not by the size and it's extremely hard to find your size. Overall, it looks more like grandma's closet. Yes, I know what you are thinking. A Goodwill in La Jolla? Lots of snooty locals were saying the same thing not a few months ago. But this new Goodwill, which had a grand opening on Thursday, June 27 had a very long line of people patiently waiting to check out the new store. I came by during the recent holiday weekend and loved the new store. This Goodwill is so nice and being that it is located where it is, has a classier patina to it. This is also reflected in it's goods for sale and the nicely organized feel to the Girard Ave. location. The employees are very pleasant and the customer service is excellent. The 1,600-square-foot store uses proceeds from sales of donated items to help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment find jobs by developing their skills and work habits through training and on-the-job experience. But the very best thing about the new La Jolla Goodwill is the same thing that sends people flocking to estate and garage sales in the better parts of town: classy goods. A story in the local newspaper, the La Jolla Light noted "the donation center, which opened weeks before the retail store fronting Girard Avenue, is receiving more high-end donations than other locations." "We got some of the top brands in the nation through the back door yesterday -- Prada, Gucci -- I couldn't believe it ... a lot of brand-spanking new men's and women's shoes in there ... and a lot of high-end summer sandals," Goodwill VP Beth Forsberg said. This is by far the best Goodwill around. They have some nice designer items and better brands like Free People and Lululemon. Too bad the store is very small and cramped. On top of that they allow shipping carts which is ridiculous as there is no space. It gets packed in here! The other downside is they offer no returns or exchanges which I don't see any other Goodwill doing except in San Diego. read more

I was very happy to see a Goodwill location open in La Jolla. This location is pretty small, but it is nicely organized. The clothes are organized by type and by color, so it's pretty easy to go through everything. There are only 2 dressing rooms though, so if it is busy (and it has when I have been there), be prepared to wait to try on clothes. There is a very small section for home goods (2 displays with about 8 shelves each) and a small section of toys (3 or 4 shelves). There are name brand items here and the pricing can't be beat. I'd definitely recommend stopping in if you're looking for clothes/shoes/accessories, but if you're looking for home goods, I'd try one of the other (larger) Goodwill locations. read more

I thought this Goodwill would be nice especially since it's in La Jolla. It was super packed and crowded when I went here last week. There was this person at the store and I'm almost 100% was on drugs but they were talking so loud and scaring a lot of the customers LOL The aisles are pretty close to each other and it can get really tight in there. I did walk away with a couple of finds. Parking is hard to find since you're in downtown La Jolla, if you're patient enough hopefully a spot will open up off of Girard Ave otherwise the side streets might be a better idea. read more

This is by far my favorite Goodwill, and I've been to a lot. Yes, it is small and a bit more expensive than some Goodwill locations. But the quality of the items is higher generally and the store is well curated. They have a few cabinets of designer items and the things in there can be kind of expensive, probably close to what you would pay on eBay for those items. However, I have found plenty of designer items mixed into the normal items. Tons of items with the tags still on them too! Small location with a minimal selection. Hardly any mens clothes and household items. Focused heavy on women's clothing and surprisingly Blue-ray DVDs. Donations are accepted in the back and they provide a receipt. The staff was friendly but I was expecting a larger store front. I understand that all items are donated but some of the clothing were lacking in quality. I came with a friend who said she couldn't find anything as well. I feel that it's hit or miss with Goodwill, but going to such a small store you narrow down your luck. Plenty of parking and other stores surrounding this location to visit.
