I've been to just about every thrift shop in Little Rock by now (being new in town and bereft of furniture...) and this is the first one I'd been to that has the killer combination of great service, unique and wonderful selection, and good prices. There were two people working there when I went in, and they were both super friendly and really helpful. We'd been looking for hardwood dining room chairs, and we found not just one beautiful hardwood chair (with a leather cushion no less), but a *set of five* Definitely worth making the trip!

It's like owning a piece of history and I enjoy seeing how language has changed over the years. I could go on... As I was checking out yesterday evening, the lady stopped scanning my items and grabbed my book. She kept saying wow, wow, when looking at it. It wasn't a fascination wow but an upset wow. I asked her is something wrong? She opened the book to see when it was published. It showed 1955. She said she wasn't supposed to sale me this book. It was supposed to have gone to Ecom for pricing. Anything before 1970 has to go to Ecom she said. I don't know what Ecom is but I believe it's to sale for big bucks on their auction website and not in-person. I asked are you going to sale me the book? It shouldn't be out with the other books if I can't buy it. The guy behind the counter told her to sale it to me. I was annoyed. I told them both this experience has taken the fun out of finding old books and thrifting. They didn't care. She was so upset because I found an old book and had to sale it to me. I can say this much it wasn't worth much. Than she had the nerve to ask me to round up. I said, are you serious? No way. You can send my donation to Ecom whatever that is. I feel this place is no longer a place to find fun stuff but more of a place for drop off donations only so the best stuff can be sold online at auction for big prices and what's left goes on the floor. Why are they a non profit? This ordeal confirmed the rumors for me are true. This stuff is donated and I repeat donated! They don't pay for their inventory. To act like this over a two dollar book? I'm done giving them my business and I will be sharing my story about this situation with others. If you donate old books, please give to the our house thrift store in North Little Rock or happy grey in Sherwood. Both of these places don't pull this greed and give back. Again, I don't get how this company claims to be a non profit. That status should be taken away. It's a front and whoever issues these non profit status should look into the horror stories. So many out there. The changing lives bit is a joke. I have seen shirts here for over 10 bucks that were not name brand. Walmart is cheaper and they are brand new. Too many horror stories out there and this experience just opened my eyes. I never believe rumors until I see it for myself and I can say not only have I seen it but experienced it at checkout. There are two kinds of flea markets: the nice respectable kind and the kind that has a bunch of…read morecrap piled sky high, or in other words, the landfill kind. This is the latter. There was one booth out of several hundred that had decent items at a reasonable price. Most of it was just junk that you wouldn't even take for free. There was dust on the items that looked as though nobody has worked on their booths for years. In one booth, shampoo was sold. Rust formed at the bottom of the cans, and you couldn't pull the can from the shelf (without pulling down the whole shelf) because it was so stuck. It is not climate-controlled. This place has NO A/C during Arkansas' 110 degree summers. They have a few industrial fans at the ends of the super, super long aisles. Today, it was moderately cool for an Arkansas summer day--- about 94 degrees. It was actually hotter in this flea market than it was outside.

We have been donating to Helping H for many years and are often dropping off numerous times every…read moremonth. I am sad to say we will be donating to other organizations from now on. The drive up to drop off is in terrible condition. It is always dirty now, unorganized, ugly, just a bad experience to even be there. Why they don't do something about it, I don't know.

This is the best thrift shop I have ever been to. They have clothing, shoes, books, furniture,…read moreappliances, housewares, kids stuff, toys, knock knacks, and even a Halloween room with pumpkins and costumes! Everything is donated and offered to the public at an amazing price. Clothes are $1 a piece and books were $2 a bag at the time, not sure of always the case. I found several baby items, 2 pairs women's shoes, children's books, a couple of work shirts and a skirt for $20! What a great price. This is a ministry run by a sweet family, so there is no corporate take. Profit goes to those in need and stays in the community. There is a reason parking is an issue! Always find at least a bag full of items .
