This location has: no dressing rooms, no restroom, ridiculously overstocked clothing racks (with fast fashion brands like shein or other mass produced or no name brands) The home goods section is in rough shape. I won't be returning to this location after my last visit. At checkout, the cashier really embarrassed me for choosing not to round up. While I typically do (when I can), I wasn't able to this time, the interaction got more and more uncomfortable. Hard pass. read more

This Goodwill may be small and a bit overwhelming when you first enter, but I love it here. I always manage to find something cute or unique, and I usually end up chatting it up with another treasure hunter. The staff has always been polite, friendly, and helpful in my experience. Shoutout to Ms. Laverne, who knows how to keep things moving at check-out while also being so personable and memorable. Pictured below is my winter decor owl, named 'Ginger' by Ms. Laverne herself. I spent $224 and they closed at 7 o'clock and they kicked me out as I was waiting on my ride . They said get out. Never been to a Goodwill so rude in my life!!! I was in front of the store waiting on my ride and had my bags on the mat in front of the store and one of the employees just lifted up the mat and knocked all my bags to the ground. I told him why didn't you ask me to move them? No answer of course. So disappointed in this Goodwill. You guys need to do better!!!! read more

I dropped off a truck full of donations, like I have done for over 30 years, and was treated like a criminal by the drive-thru attendant. They insist on inspecting all donations because " we don't want items we don't want". Incredibly rude and obnoxious. I have donated to the Goodwill for the last time. I strongly encourage anyone considering a donation to Goodwill to go elsewhere. There are lots of other charities in Louisville that will appreciate your donations. Goodwill does not. read more

This review is from a donator. We give most of our stuff to Goodwill just because it's easier, but we had an experience yesterday that blew my mind. My husband and a friend pulled up to the Hurstbourne store with a friend and a flatbed trailer holding quite a bit of furniture. Not the first time, and they've always taken whatever we gave them. This time, however, the manager came out and started going through things saying she couldn't take them because they were "not good enough." This went on for quite a while, and my husband and his friend finally left and went somewhere else--to ANOTHER Goodwill, where they gladly took everything they had. From what I understand, Goodwill keeps most of the money they get from their sales. But they're still getting their merch for free. To tell us our things weren't good enough--which, by the way, they were all in very good shape--was way out of line. read more

I got charged for some one else stuff that was at the junkie cash register. The cashier called the manager. I told the manager what happened and I wanted a refund. The stuff was broke up it was junk. The manager said wait. She left me at the front of the store never came back never answered the page from the cashier again. I left she was out side by donations smoking. This Goodwill is just fine. It is easy to donate items (I took 4 bags of clothing yesterday). Staff members are very friendly and attentive. They always offer to provide a tax receipt. However, the inside of this particular location is always a mess. It is cluttered and dirty. On more than one occasion I have spotted items for sale that were torn, stained, or damaged. These items should never make it out to the floor. I love to shop second-hand stores and have visited nearly every single Goodwill in the Kentuckiana area. I wish this location would get a renovation like some of the other local Goodwill stores. Sometimes I find good stuff here. But, man, I gotta be willing to really dig. read more

This was my first time donating to Goodwill and I had such a poor experience. I did not know too much on how the donating process works, so I decided to go into the store in hopes of talking to a knowledgeable employee. Not only did I not find a knowledgeable employee to answer some of my questions, I couldn't find anyone who worked there at all. After about 10 minutes of searching for literally anyone who could help me, I find one employee who must have been braindead. He couldn't tell me a thing about how the process worked. I go outside and pull my car up to drop of my things. I ask those helping move the furniture and whatnot a little bit about how the process works... I'm pretty sure they didn't even speak English. After talking to three 'employees', if you can call them that, I still had no answer to any of my questions. Oh did I mention that they gave me a blank receipt? Once I had donated everything one of the movers gave me a blank receipt, and I said, "so how does this work?" He replied with the most puzzled look on his face and a simple "I don't know". Excuse me, but you don't know? Absolute blasphemy. None of my items were counted or recorded. It was like dropping my nice things off at the dump. I left the store with none of my questions answered and a blank receipt. Good going Goodwill, you absolutely suck and I will never be giving anything to you again. I'd rather put it in a dumpster to rot in a landfill than deal with this. Hire some competent employees for Christ's sake. read more

Great donation drop off location! I am currently going through a cross-country move and overfilled my U-Haul trailer. I went to Goodwill to donate items and try repacking the trailer. I went off to the side so as not to impede other people stopping to donate. The people there were so patient with me and I think it made a stressful situation so much easier. read more

I was in dire need of a new argyle sweater. So I went my local j crew and they didn't have it! So I decided to go to good will. Now, when I went I found the most REPULSIVE jeans, with holes in them!! I thought they were ugly, so I bought them for my great uncle's neice's cousin. When I got home I put them in the washing machine, and now they have even more holes! I tried them on to make sure they'd fit her but when I did, I walked downstairs to find a note on the counter. It said that my wife was leaving me for my BROTHER. This caused my entire family to disown me, and I lost my job! I hate you Goodwill. read more

I'm giving this Goodwill location a middle-of-the-road rating, because as far as donating it's great! The staff is very friendly, and they're always quick to come out and take donations. They always offer a tax receipt, and they're always thankful for the donations. As far as shopping, I've definitely experienced much better Goodwill stores. I know it all depends on the area, and what people in the area choose to donate, so it's not this location's fault; however, I've never been able to find anything worthwhile here. read more

I love this place. You have to digs, but there are some amazing finds, trust me. Most donations come from residents of downtown, highlands, nulu & Germantown. Not all Goodwills are created equal. I have found that the quality of the Goodwill largely relies on the neighborhood it's located in. They clearly aren't shipping items from store to store, so of course if you're in a neighborhood with say, several nearby retirement communities you will find good vintage. Suburban Goodwill locations typically have a great selection of sensible heels. Inner city Goodwills more often than not fall somewhere on the spectrum between full-on department store with hipster appealing window displays to oversized port-o-potties. This location feels utterly forgotten. Like one of those movie scenes with tumbleweeds rolling through. Makes me miss my inner-city Denver Goodwill, which may have been overpriced but I wasn't scared of leaving with a new case of bed bugs and possibly leftover voodoo spells on my table linens. read more

We just dropped off some furniture and other household items that had an appraised value of $2000. The Goodwill employee who came out to take our donations acted like we were inconveniencing him because we "had so much stuff" to donate. When you are giving your property away to charity, it would be nice to at least get a simple "thank you" or maybe even a smile in return. Instead, the employee seemed lazy, had a horrible attitude, and was extremely rude to us. read more
