We have dropped donation items off at this location several times in the past few years and appreciate how easy it is, as well as the mission of this business. There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.) read more

This is not a Christian organization. After donating 10's of thousands of dollars worth of furniture from our customers over the years, and recommending them on a daily basis in the kentuckiana area, my thoughts were changed when the driver of the mustard seed truck arrogantly, and rudely declined several very nice furniture pieces without even looking at them (at their location). I spoke to the manager and she was just as rude. Very arrogant and ungrateful attitudes for an organization that survives on donations. read more

I've always had a soft spot for Sellersburg, and The Mustard Seed is one of the town's stand-out ambassadors. This is my go-to thrift store in the area for many reasons. Their mission to support survivors of abuse is deeply important, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the store itself is clean and easy to navigate. They've also consistently shown a commitment to keeping prices reasonable. I appreciate this as a customer and donor alike; when I donate items somewhere, I want to know that they'll be sold at true thrift store prices instead of the boutique-level prices you see at many Goodwills these days. I love this place and what it stands for! Money they raise goes to help adult women recover from childhood physical and mental abuse. Currently they are helping SOAR (Survivors of Abuse Restored). What could be better! Sellersburg is the second location of two. It has been open since August of 2017. It's the larger of the two locations. This Mustard Seed is located in the old MC Sales building. Not only do they support a great cause they also took ownership of a building that hasn't kept a business in it for any amount of time, since MC Sales closed. Good to see this one working out! Their clothing ranges from $2.77 to $15.77 on average. Most items are $4.77. The ugly harder to sell items are the 2.77 and items you would find at the Buckle or Macy's would be the 15.77. There are higher priced items like wedding dresses and suits. Clothes include any of the following... Shoes, pants, shirts, ties, scarves, coats, formals and exercise clothing. You never know what your going to find. Just depends on what they have sorted that day from the back. There is a TON of items back there. read more

This thrift shop was larger than anticipated. It was well organized and clean. It didn't have the 'thrift shop smell' which most people are familiar with. They don't offer a great selection (which is obviously limited by what's donated to them). If you're looking for clothes, particularly adult clothing, this is a good thrift shop. They also had a small, but nice, selection of small furniture pieces. The prices were more than goodwill but still more than fair! Donations are a breeze and they're very helpful in unloading and even returning your totes and boxes if you need them back. I'll certainly be back and I'm glad to support a good local cause. read more
