It's past time to update our review for Heuser Hearing Institute. About a year ago we noticed a vast difference in our visits to HeuserHearing Institute. It took a while to figure out what had changed so we patiently kept appointments while trying to identify our dissatisfaction with this business. First, the communication and ability of the front office staff deserves a one star. The staff has a snarky customer communication on even the easiest aspect of their job, namely sign in and scheduling appointments upon completion of the current visit. Additionally with no notice on one visit we were presented a bill that they wanted paid at the time. This was a first for us so my husband inquired what the bill was for. Neither front office person could tell us what the invoice was for. They did agree to let us mail a payment since we had no advance notice there would be a charge. As for the visit with the audiologist we began realizing the visits were used more for teaching future audiologists. Horrible!! Every session my son had a different speech therapist. NO COMPASSION. Lauren is the worst!!

Took my husband to have his hearing checked. Lindsey was our audiologist and she was simply amazing! Aids were recommended, but the loss isn't "significant" and my husband opted to just have annual checks instead of going with the aids. Lindsey wasn't pushy and really was understanding of his current needs and advised on ways to help modify daily activities to get better results. She went so far as to help us understand a setting with his AirPods that will enable him to use them as "somewhat" aids while at work. She whipped her AirPods out...showed us what to do...let him test with HER AirPods and did think twice about it. She really is there to help even if you don't purchase aids! So far the AirPods trick has helped a lot at work and going forward when he does opt for full blown aids we will be going back. I have the utmost respect for healthcare workers that do not push a purchase even when they know the insurance is amazing and would cover most of the cost. read more

Hubs received full service recently and a new pair of digital hearing aids. He totally loves it!!! Enjoys listening to music and is so happy to hear his children's voices and laughters for the first time! Thank you so much! They were trying to fix my BPPV. I kept getting appointments changed, different audiologists. They finally sent me home with no improvement, handing me a sheet of paper with instructions on home treatment, and no follow up allowed. I am extremely disappointed in this supposedly not for profit institution. read more

I have to admit I was scared when I got there because I was unsure of what my diagnoses and treatment was going to be. They put me at ease very quickly. I was very impressed with how thorough and professional they were. I have to go back for therapy and another test but I know I will feel much better walking in there after this. read more

Unless you have NO CHOICE in getting your hearing solutions elsware please avoid this establishment. There office staff are not accommodating in any way. Clearly they are not trained properly to handle human beings in a office environment. For the amount of money hearing aids cost and appointments cost there should be office staff that are wanting to resolve issues and that are accommodating to patients needs. I have been going to the Heuser Hearing Institute on behalf of my granddaughter who is deaf w/cochlear implants for many years now. We usually go downtown, but have also had speech therapy at the Lyndon location. Everyone has always been extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. I would never go anyplace else. I have been working with Heuser on my deafness problems for more than two years. They have helped me immensely in equipping me with aids that are the best and most durable I have ever had. I look forward to many years of better hearing because of their spirit of service and professional knowledge. I had a good experience with my first appointment at the Middletown location. My hearing test was very involved and gave me good information. They really took the time to talk to me about my hearing issues and hearing aids. They helped me connect with vocational rehabilitation assistance that I will need for more hearing aid info and vocational info needs. read more
