had a very disappointing experience at the Goodwill in Marysville, Ohio tonight. Around 7:50 PM, while I was still shopping before closing time, the manager, Amanda, approached me in a very rude manner and told me the store was closed and that I needed to leave. She snapped her fingers, pointed toward the registers, and spoke to me in a way that felt extremely disrespectful.
After being rushed to the front, I then had to stand in a long checkout line for several minutes because there was only one person checking customers out. Meanwhile, Amanda was turning away customers at the door before it was even 8:00 PM.
When I asked for the manager's name, she walked up to me and said, "Amanda. Do you want my card? I'm the one in charge, and this is as good as it gets." The attitude and lack of professionalism were unbelievable.
I understand employees want to close on time, but there is a respectful way to communicate with customers. Customer service should matter everywhere, especially at a business like Goodwill that serves the community. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.
Because of this experience, I will not be shopping at or donating to this location again. read more
