Is it just me or are the prices still a bit out of control for the clothing, shoes, and housewares? Books are a good deal though..

Just a bunch of garbage. No carts readily available. I've been to better bins before.

Love this place...great deals if you are willing to search the many large bins. Paying by the pound is a great idea!

Ask the Community - Goodwill Outlet Center & Donation Center

Did you receive any medical chairs recliner chairs from the surgery center Wyomissing? I'm trying to find where I can buy one since my husband had double knee surgery and those chairs fit so good.

Hello, we are not able to accept medical chairs as donations and would not have any for sale. Thanks

I did not get to shop the whole store. This store is usually a hit or miss. Plenty of parking. There are handicapped spaces near front entrance. Lots of knick knacks, clothes, shoes, kitchenware, candles, baby items and tons of other items.

Some things to know.... This is the largest Goodwill I've ever been to (and I've been to alot!) It was also very crowded. The parking lot is shared with a huge grocery chain so do be prepared to park at the far end of the lot. There were three cashiers the day of my visit and a huge line. Employees at the register were swift but didn't make eye contact or any other interaction. It was on to the next customer. Customer service on the sales floor was non existent. Inside organization is neat as far as clothing racks not being jammed packed but minimal. For example ladies pants are with ladies pants but no separation by size in any clothing department. There's rows and rows of clothing to go thru. There's long rows of assorted goods, housewares, etc sorted by color on shelves. You have to dig a bit as stuff is piled on top of each other very haphazardly. Do be careful as they mix glass with other items. There's alot of merchandise, probably 4xs that of other Goodwill's. Toys are the same way. I felt like no consideration was given to condition in these areas. If it was donated it went on the sales floor. Still...with some sorting there was some great stuff, including vintage pieces mixed in. Unlike other Goodwill's shoes have their own department, except children's which is thrown on top of racks. Furniture was very limited and what was there was better suited for the trash than donation. The linen department here was exceptional! Most of the items looked brand new. Although I do have a grip that Goodwill's in general price (and hang) each piece to sheet sets separately - sometimes not even on the same rack. Prices in this department however were lower than other locations for much better quality and selection. In general Goodwill charges one price for jeans, one price for long sleeve shirts, etc and tend to price higher than other thrift stores. I didn't have the time needed to thoroughly look over clothing but what I did see was current and in good condition. If you're shopping for Halloween or seasonally those departments have their own section and it's quite impressive as well. Be sure to check out the new merchandise by the registers. Priced higher than thrift but less than retail you never know what you might come across. I found a mermaid tail blanket for $5.99 On your way out be sure to shoot across the lot to the farmers market - the food was exceptional!

Furnishings and household decor are arranged to resemble my own living spaces at home. Everything is sorted and arranged into departments - and the store is huge. Frequently stop in because they are always getting in new items. Plus, it is a convenient place to donate our own things that we are ready to part with but still have more life in them.

It's a huge part of my life and thrifting is an inch I always need to scratch. Found this thrift shop while heading to Pottstown. At first glance it doesn't appear to be much but once inside you're transformed to a very nicely decorated and organized retail space - at least in the first few rooms. As you stroll thru the building the organization and display become less and less enticing into you reach the back which is literally like an unheated warehouse with stuff everywhere, somewhat organized. I did enjoy myself digging thru and discovering cool things but was deterred by the pricing which was more in line with an antique store than a thrift store. However quality for the most part (with the exception of those back rooms) was decent. In one of the rooms were handpainted portraits on large canvases, tons of them of different everyday, ordinary people. I enjoyed looking thru them to see if it was anyone I knew. Literally there was tons of them! Upstairs you'll find clothing and shoes, which felt like raiding a nursing home closet but not in a cool vintage way. Very matronly and not of current styles. Also clothing was very limited, probably primarily because of lack of space as the upstairs is a loft like area. There is a room for boutique items - with prices to match, only the brands were mall brands and nothing special. It is hard to maneuver in those rooms, and especially to social distance. I didn't feel comfortable up there at all. They did have some good stuff, but again nothing I was willing to pay that much for so I ultimately left empty handed. I will say this, don't let the run down, drab exterior fool you, if you're into the hunt like me this is one place you'll want to explore.

It's located in a deserted, large shopping complex with the anchor store vacant. The lot is expansive and this store is on the end next to the large vacant property. For that reason I would be leery of going at night alone. Otherwise approaching I could see it was a store with a substantial amount of real estate. Furniture pieces were visible thru the window. I couldn't wait to get inside to explore. Is it the cleanest, most organized store? You can literally see dust balls float across the floor. No...but its full of vintage items as well as pickers. How do I know? You can witness them on the sales floor doing pricing research on their phones while holding tight to an item. I would guess that the majority of the customers were resellers. For that reason, if you see something you like, whether you think it's valuable or just valuable to you grab it. Take a look at that complete set of vintage mushroom canisters I came across. I know they are a highly desirable collectable. I left them for someone else to discover and enjoy. What I would consider highlights for this store is the furniture pieces. Large, small, new and old, like antique old (see pic). The large solid wood wall unit was complete with shelving and lighting and priced at only $299. I'm sure it was a few thousand new. If you dabble in decorative painting and furniture upcycling like I do you'll want to add this store to your thrifting stops. Housewares and decorative items were plenty and arranged better than some departments. I scored some great pieces in this dept that have been on my "thrift wish list "for some time. Toys, crafts, and misc were a huge mess, with piles on the shelves and on the floor without any consideration to order. Prices are very affordable, only a step above yard sale for most items. Linens were stocked well and included a lot of vintage and handmade pieces like crocheted afghans. Clothing was a miss for me. Although I did see they have dressing room the department was so full and clustered together I didn't feel like routing. Shoes I felt were priced high, one price depending on item (see pic) without consideration to brand or condition. DVD's were labeled as half off, but I didn't see a price for comparison. The book department was large and popular. On the day I was there they were constantly adding new items, including furniture pieces, and the pickers were standing ready. This store is part of the Opportunity House, a non profit that offers social services to disadvantaged families, a mission I truly support. The employees were all nice, especially the young man at the register, who provided me with a loyalty card - get it hole punched for each purchase. So while this might not be the best looking or best kept store, it's a great place to hunt for vintage and current items on the cheap.
