It's been a few years since my last review, and this GW is my go-to place to shop for a number of reasons: 1. I live pretty close, so it's convenient. 2. I don't know why, but I find the coolest and most useful things here. For example, I have three Dyson vacuums all from this GW. One for upstairs, one for downstairs and one for my outside courtyard and back patio. Altogether, I paid less than $100. However, by now, I'm an expert at taking apart, cleaning, and putting back together these machines. I found my La Croix pots here and love each of them. In my courtyard sits the coolest, vintage, spun fiberglass table and chairs. Can't forget to mention my beautiful, amber colored, crystal wine glasses as well as a couple of Waterford vases. And clothes? Yes, this is where I go. I look for designer brands and have not been disappointed. I love my Kate Spade full flare pants and, of course, the purses. Michael Kors' brand can be found as well. Love it! 3. I love Tuesdays. They have what I call "old people's day, 25% off everything except Christmas items. 4. Lastly, most, not all staff, are friendly. I could go on and on, but I'll spare you. So, there ya have it, my own personal, subjective opinion. Happy thrifting! Love this goodwill location, goodwill in general is amazing. But recently I went with my friends and had a ton of outfits we wanted to try, went into the bathroom and a few minutes later a employee came in and said we couldn't keep our cart in there and try on clothes, that's why they didn't have dressing rooms. I don't get thrift stores that don't have dressing rooms because my friends now have things that they need to return because we didn't know if it would fit or not. It is cleaner then other locations though, and it's not that bad other then they have no dressing rooms other then mirrors on random walls that arnt that hidden for if you are in a sports bra (etc) to change. read more

Not one of their better locations. I have patronized Goodwill locations throughout the valley with some very clean, well organized and with solid inventory. This particular location is not very clean, not well organized and has less than good quality of inventory. This was my first visit to this particular store. I'll avoid this one opting for others that are just better. read more

This is my favorite GW. Wayyyyyyyyy more clean and organized then the one up the street on Ray and 48th. (That place always looks like a tornado hit it and extremely dirty, stuff all over the ground and bathrooms are nasty) I've never written a review on a store before but I was in last night and both of the workers were male, didn't get their names (One was a newer manager w a grey beard) were so overly nice and caring. Amazing customer service to everyone who was coming or going. Just so happy to be there and it's a nice change of the normal disgruntled employees that are usually there. Shopped on dollar Thursday arriving right when it opened to find my best selection. Pleasant greetings on my way in by staff and the shop was not overly busy. In marked items were quickly tagged by manager. I tooled around for needed clothing finding a cartful of options only to discover try-on rooms closed yet for COVID. I utilized the mirror and had to let a few go since I was sure. A very clean well organized shop w a bathroom!!!! Definitely returning! read more

Staff lacks basic communication skills, professionalism and sense of urgency. Can't even pick up the phone and get a decent "hello." I've thrifted a fair amount, throughout the valley. Goodwill has a nice standard for what thrifting should look like. Stores are 'mostly' organized at the beginning hours of morning, but if you are a mid day/evening shopper, it gets messy. Over the course of the last few years, the increase in prices have made the frequent trips, less justified. I know that if you are looking for something in particular, GW is a good starting point, but for a better 'deal', shopping online is hard to beat. The quality items are often removed and sent to their online store anyhow. Many options out there, but Goodwill is known to be accessible, due to their many locations and frequency of donations is mostly likely more frequent than mom/pop thrift stores. read more

one woman working here is so so rude ! she's the only reason i will not be coming back. I was in here about a week ago trying to buy an office chair . I found the perfect one but i wanted to sit in it to make sure it was sturdy . ( keep in mind i'm a 5'5 120 pound girl) and the employee yelled at me telling me to get off the chair unless i'm "handicapped" like that was gonna help the situation. so i tell her i wanted to just see if it would be sturdy then she raises her voice at me in front of other customers saying i need to get off or i'll break it!! Cashiers are absolutely so rude especially the older lady that always has a ponytail and glasses. Also who ever management is so rude, she had such an attitude for an item without a tag and gave me a ridiculous price she told me $30 for a used summer dress at goodwill absolutely ridiculous, and no it wasn't a big name brand. They attitudes and prices are not what goodwill stands for corporate should definitely look into them before they lose even more customers. read more

I've been here a few times and it's not half bad. I mean, it's not the greatest goodwill store, but it's not the worst either. It's sort of organized, but I feel like they don't have the quality stuff that I find at others. I did find a nice polo top here today, but I usually walk out empty handed when I am here. The knick knack part of the store comes off slightly disorganized with stuff that feels broken. The furniture feels tired and they never have the stuff I want. When I say this I feel bad because it's the goodwill, not a Macy's. But, being a thrift shopper, I find that this one's not the greatest location around. I also expected more since it's in a nicer area. I noticed today that some of the patrons seemed to be embarrassed to be shopping there. Just my gut speaking here folks. Overall, not my preferred valley location. I've been to better goodwills in Metro Phoenix, and this one kind of falls in the bottom half. read more

Waited at the register that was lit up for a couple minutes for a cashier to get me checked out. I would say maybe a late teen group was working this night and talked amongst each other. I understand how it is when you work with a cool group of coworkers but I watched an employee walk past me and toward the group to chat. Didn't get acknowledged or told someone was going to be there to help me. I ended up leaving my stuff there and going home. Ridiculous. read more

Awesome workers! I have been noticing lately that the workers seem to be in a better mood, or maybe that is just because these are new replacement workers. Hmm.. Don't forget every other Sat. is 50% off and you can always tell what the sale is that day by looking for the colored balloons floating from the signs in the front of the store. No more asking random, cranky strangers if they know what the color is that day, or hunting down the nearest employee. We all forget, come on. Not sure what store this used to be, but the layout is weird because everything is sectioned off and the mens/kids/linens/women's shoes section is located down a ramp which I was tempted to race my cart down. Great place to get antiques, dishes and used golf clubs and sporting goods. I find all kinds of burried treasures here. Littetaly burried....other bargain shoppers will misplace all kind of items the night before 50 off days.....but I know all the tricks. read more

Every other Saturday, everything is 50% off! I always find great kids clothes here. Today, I got a pair of barely worn tap shoes, a barely worn pink kids leotard, some pink pants and a lovely black market white house blouse with the dry cleaning tag still on - all for $5.50!!! Now, here's the catch - the line during the crazy saturday sale is llloooonnnnggggg! How long??? Down the hall and into the next room long. How how loonnng? 35 minutes in line long. But if you go with some friends and have fun with it - it's worth the bucks saved! read more

I was purchasing some items with my credit card and I walked out of the store and everything seemed fine, and one of the employees ran after me and basically accused me of stealing when I literally purchased the item and just didn't grab my receipt and she was so rude and condescending this employee clearly needs to be retrained. So unprofessional!! I will now be going to the goodwill on ray now that I feel uncomfortable going here due to this worker. I can't believe they would treat a loyal paying customer like this. So angry and hurt. She blatantly accused me of stealing when the transaction literally when through. I wish I got her name but I didn't get the chance. She had long dirty blonde hair and was in her mid 50s. read more

The return policy is clearly stated on the receipt but yet the cashiers give you flack for returns. Don't try to tell me you don't know.

This goodwill is definitely in my top 5!! I check this spot out during the evenings on weekdays since it's on the way home. There is usually a few people in there, which is great for me because I can take my time and sort through all of the goodies!! I always leave here with something fab! Although, lately the prices on certain "brand name" labels are quite high. Maybe I should stick to the half off Saturdays, like I usually do, but I just can't resist going when the mood strikes. Well, they have stuff. They used to have a lot more, but this location has been seriously downsizing their inventory latelty. Don't know why. A move perhaps? Anyways. Some good deals - usually only when the workers can't figure out what an item is. Some packaged items are marked higher than you can get in the stores. Tons of old lady detritus (silk plants, garden gnomes etc.). Kudos on fixing the smell of NilOdor in the place. No longer smells toxic. read more

This new location managed to pop up while I was out of the country (along with what seems like a million other new locations as well; must be a good year for Goodwill), and it's definitely worth the time to peruse. If you're like me, you like thrift store shopping for a variety of things. This specific Goodwill store has the benefit of being in a "nice" area in Ahwatukee, so you're bound to find some newer items as well as stuff that isn't beat all to hell. And don't worry, it's got no shortage of weird tacky crap, either. Just today I managed to pick up a painting of Elvis, as well as a very nice, well-taken-care-of old Minolta camera (and don't get me started on my mug with a mustache printed on it). Their book selection is like somebody stole several shelves of books from Bookman's, it's that good. When you're making your monthly rounds to the thrift stores in the southern valley, make this one a destination. Or don't, I'm cool with that. Just means more awesome crap for me. read more

This is my favorite Goodwill in the southern part of the Valley. I go every other Saturday when everything is 50% off and load up on clothes and shoes for my family and my online resale business. Yesterday I spent $75, which included about 10 kids' books, a Wii game, a Diane von Furstenberg dress, a pair of Doc Martens, and a pair of Miss Me shorts, along with a bunch of other clothes and shoes. That was probably my best day there, but I always leave this location with great stuff. read more

Way overpriced. I've been to goodwill stores all around the valley and this one is THE worst on both price and selection. Threadbare T-shirts for 7$? Computer / Hi-Fi cables that cost one dollar in a retail store for 8$ used at goodwill? I am a thrift store hound and this goodwill sucks. I do frequent it because its in my neighborhood, but if given the chance, I go elsewhere. First of all, I noticed many reviewers complaining of reduced inventory. that is because of the goodwill scandal in the news about how they handle their finances and that the upper management of this supposed charity organization rakes in millions of dollars every year. so many simply will not give their donations to goodwill anymore. second, and I have noticed this at other thrift stores too now that thrifting has become trendy...the prices have skyrocketed. but more so in this store probably because its in ahwatukee and they know the affluent residents will pay the prices. however, I have noticed some ridiculous price tags on used items whereas it was either more than you could buy new at wal mart or ikea or only a dollar or two cheaper than new. I routinely shake my head when I'm in there at the prices they want for junk. the staff here is usually very very rude and cold and unprofessional. however, around Halloween I noticed a lot of new faces that seemed to be friendlier. beware when you buy electronics, they do not test them and they are often broken/don't work. also, around the holidays esp Halloween, they price gauge BIG TIME! they take everyday clothing and put it on their costume racks and double the price...then, because its for Halloween they will not refund or exchange it. I bought a graduation robe and they had it on the Halloween rack for $10! one flimsy piece of material! It was the wrong color and they wouldn't exchange or refund. I found the same robe at savers for 3.99. Finally, I don't like the fact that every time you buy something, they ask you to round up and donate your change from your purchase. So I usually say no because of their high prices and the fact that I already donate by buying things and also donating my belongings there. when I say no, they usually give me a cold look, but its on principle. read more
