This sweet little thrift store is located across the street from the church's Houg Hall and it is run by church volunteers. Since the 1982 they have been selling well priced and gently used clothing, accessories, home goods, furniture, books, and more. They accept donations and proceeds go to outreach ministries. Follow the All Saint's Thrift Store on Facebook for updates on inventory and special events like yard sales. This is the perfect place to find a treasure and support a good cause.

Fortunately I found this fabulous thrift store from the Jensen Beach Community Church just a few doors down. Proceeds from this thrift store supports the Shepherd's Pantry providing food for those in need, a meeting home for Al Anon, Alcoholic's Anonymous & Narcotic's Anonymous, Indiantown Boys & Girls Club, and Habitat for Humanity. This thrift store is large with two long rooms filled with furniture, small appliances, linens, household goods, holiday decorations, clothing, accessories, etc.. I absolutely fell in love with a 1920's prohibition era wooden vanity that is just waiting for the right person to restore it and bring it back to life. They also had tea cups in my inherited Royal Rose pattern. Everything in the store was well organized, well priced, and in good condition. The volunteers who were working were friendly and helpful. I just filled out paper at the front desk to see if I qualified to shop here, and got a thumbs up a few moments later. We are a large family, and the income limit is very reasonable. I was told by an employee that they get new stuff daily, so I often drop by a few times a week to see what they have. I often find products from Costco and Sprouts and high end coffee and teas. I found a 2 lb bag of Lavazza coffee beans for 4.99 last week! Lots of health foods as well. I've found quality baking goods too, like baking chocolate and yeast. I love going through the spices and baking stuff. And really, all of it! I always find awesome stuff. They bring out new produce daily around 11am, it's hit or miss with the freshness level but it's worth checking out daily since it's always new stuff. It really is like a treasure hunt every time. There's a lot of bulk items that cost less if you buy the whole box, and I'm like, "Is this right? a huge box of chips for 1.99?" Some crazy deals I've found are a 10 lb box of hash browns for 4.99, 15 dozen eggs for 12.99, a gallon of OJ for 1.99, 1 gallon of cooking oil for 2.99, 3lbs shredded cheese for 4.99. But if you go today, you probably won't find these but you'll find some other crazy deal. It changes daily. The only drawback is some of the things are near or at expiration dates, but not everything is. It's not the prettiest store either, but I highly recommend this place if you're looking to save money!

Since that time they have been offering patients and their families in Martin and St Lucie counties services related to end of life care by a team of physicians, nurses, nursing assistant, social workers, and chaplains. To fund their mission, Treasure Coast Hospice operates a thrift store in Stuart which I have previously reviewed and this newer location in Port St Lucie. The store is located in a strip mall. It is one large room with racks of clothing, small pieces of furniture, household goods, collectibles, holiday items, books, small appliances, jewelry, and accessories. Everything was neat, clean, and attractively arranged. Prices were very fair and they had an additional sale on green tag clothes which were an additional 50 percent off, 50 percent off shoes, and 20 percent off pictures. If you were lucky enough to find a yellow tag clothing item, they were only $1. They had some other sales as well so that almost everything in the store was additionally discounted. I really wish I had the room for the watermelon serving dish. I also loved the little doggie creamer. They had a lot of vintage items which also caught my eye. This is a great organization which you can come out and support by shopping their stores and donating to them. Also you can help save the planet by keeping items out of the landfill. Thrifting can do a community a lot of good.

Despite the disapproval of the church, Booth took his ministry to the poor, homeless, hungry, and destitute. After training evangelists all over England, the couple returned to the west end of London in 1875 and formed their organization, the Christian Mission. In 1878 while reading the annual report for the Christian Mission he noticed the phrase "The Christian Mission is a volunteer army." William Booth crossed out volunteer army and replaced it with salvation army. From then on converts became soldiers of Christ or Salvationists. The groups message spread quickly and today they serve over 100 countries. The Salvation Army has churches throughout the world called Salvation Army corps but they are probably best known for their thrift stores. When items are purchased at the stores, the money supports the Salvation Army's emergency relief efforts and programs. All sales directly fund local programs and services in Indian River County. Unlike a lot of businesses, the Salvation Army will hire ex felons. Some of the shops support the Adult Rehabilitation Centers which help people combat addiction. When you donate to or buy from the Salvation Army you are helping to support many worthwhile programs. I discovered this Salvation Army store while driving down Oslo Road in Vero Beach. It is located next to a Goodwill for even more thrifting fun. This was one of the nicer Salvation Army thrift stores that I have been in. Everything was clean and neatly organized. Inventory included like new home goods, art, furniture, records, linens, books, toys, and a large selection of clothing and accessories. Thrifting helps people save money while keeping items out of the landfill. The Salvation Army welcomes donations of clean and gently used clothing, furniture, automobiles, household goods, and appliances. Whether you're on the hunt for vintage treasures, everyday essentials, or just browsing for a good deal, there's something for everyone at the Salvation Army Family Thrift Store in Vero Beach.
