This Goodwill is part of Gulfstream Goodwill which was founded by the former Mayor of West Palm Beach, Ham Anthony in 1966 in Palm Beach County. Mr. Anthony brought together local business leaders made up of some the most prominent businessmen in Palm Beach County at that time. They started with 10 employees and have grown to 900 operating the largest health, human and social services nonprofit in the South Florida area providing employment, training, and housing. Today Gulfstream Goodwill operates in five counties: Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties. Gulf Stream Goodwill has 27 retail locations, 2 outlets, and 41 donation centers. Gulfstream Gulfstream Goodwill also operates 4 rehabilitation facilities and many residential transitional housing facilities. I discovered this Goodwill store while driving down Oslo Road in Vero Beach. It is located next to a Salvation Army thrift store for even more thrifting fun. This Goodwill has a ton of clothing for men, women, and children, accessories, furniture, home goods, toys, small appliances, books, and more, all at discounted prices. Everything is organized by type, color, and size so shopping is a breeze. Thrifting is enjoying a resurgence as a cool hobby. There are a ton of Instagram videos showing how you can have a business thrifting or how to style and transform thrifted items. A can of spray paint can give just about any item new life. I really enjoyed thrifting at this large, clean, and well organized Goodwill. Goodwill has even added new items to complete their thrift inventory. Not only can you find a unique bargain but you are repurposing items and keeping them out of the landfill while helping the community through your purchase at the same time.

The Women's Refuge was founded in 1997 by Donna Lee Robart and husband Ted for people who are experiencing emotional, mental, and spiritual problems. Proceeds from this thrift store go to supporting programs at the Women's Refuge which includes a Christian residential program for women, support groups, and a biblical counseling center for men, women, and families. The Women's Refuge Resale Shop sells a wide range of clothing, accessories, household items, furniture, art, home decor, and more. Everything was neatly organized and clearly marked with a price. Interestingly the prices were compared with what similar items are selling for Poshmark and Chairish. First time I have seen that. On the day I visited they were having a lot of additional sales including 60 percent off dresses and pants. For even more thrifting fun, the Tambourine Resale Store is next door and there is another Women's Refuge store across the parking lot selling furniture and antiques. The Women's Refuge does a lot of good in the community so you can feel good about volunteering, shopping, and donating here.

She created the Tambourine Resale Shop to fund her mission. The Tambourine Resale Shops sells donated nearly new and gently used items that include housewares, women's and men's clothing, accessories, furniture, jewelry, art and antiques. Over 40 volunteers staff the store. This year they are celebrating their 45th anniversary. The store is very neat and attractively organized. The clothing area is set up like a boutique with brand name clothes, some luxury. There is a dressing room area where you can try on. Prices seemed reasonable but always do your research. For even more thrifting fun, the Women's Refuge thrift store is right next door. Proceeds from this shop have been helping the community for over 40 years so you can feel good about donating to and shopping at the Tambourine Resale Shop.

The staff is extremely friendly and will negotiate on prices if there is something you want, but maybe feel is priced just a little too high or out of your price range. Just ask if they can work with you on price. Clothing is tagged with plastic strips on the collar that indicates pricing. Purple tags are $2 and Red tags are $5. They do have a dressing room for try on. You can find some nice clothes in the mix, however they are not sorted by size, and you have to make a commitment to browse through it all. There is more women's clothing than men's or children's. Clothing is located in the front part of the store along with purses, tote bags, a small selection of shoes, jewelry, DVD's/CD's, health care items, and some collectables and vintage items under glass. In the back portion of the store are children's toys, games, & books, pet supplies, figurines, glassware, dishes, household & kitchen items, arts/crafts items, general books, artwork, tools and hardware, small kitchen appliances, holiday items, and limited travel accessories. There is little to no furniture at this store. You may find small end tables or lamps, but no large furniture items. They have recently been working to re-organize their shelves and displays to put more similar items together. Makes browsing much easier. When you arrive, they have a chalk sign posted inside the door entrance that indicates any specials and discounts they are offering. Like any thrift store, it's "hit or miss" depending on what you are shopping for, but there are definitely treasures to be found!

They were all priced around $6. They also had some furniture at excellent prices. The place was clean and didn't have that smell that some thrift stores have. The store employees were friendly. The only thing that can be improved was that I had to wait about 15 minutes to get into a dressing room. There were 4 and one was "out of order." I don't live around here, but if I was in the area again, I would love to go back again.

I loved everything about my visit to this antique mall. Vintage Vero is in a historic Beaux Art Era…read morebuilding that was designed by Frederick Trimble in the Spanish Mission revival style. When it was built it was at the intersection of then Osceola Blvd. and Seminole Ave. In 1914 it was Farmer's Bank but the bank failed in the Great Depression. It then became the Indian River Citrus Bank. In 1983, the buildings were sold to The Vero Furniture Mart. In 2020 the building was sold once again and it is now Vintage Vero, a consignment store/ antique mall with 18 different dealers. There are multiple rooms of furniture, art, collectibles, ceramics, home goods. There is even a room with clothing and jewelry. My favorites were a chrome raindrop mirror, alligator magnifying glass, and mid century patio set. Prices arranged from under a hundred to many thousands of dollars. There is a lot to look at and the owners sweetly let me take my time.

Everything was accurately represented in the photos I texted over to ask if your business wanted to consign it. Yes! Enthusiastically was said over the phone. Tomorrow we will send the boys over between 11am-2pm to pick it up... So when the two knuckleheads show up, one walks around and says "No" we wont take it. We didn't see this and that, etc. I clearly showed everything (little dings and such) in the photos. Thanks for wasting three hours of my life because you people didn't do your due diligence.
