I didn't realize this was a boutique! (until I saw the name on Yelp) When I parked, I noticed what a small Goodwill this was. It's in an unnoticed area with other small shops behind a gas station. The little store was so organized and so. clean. !!! Even the books were arranged by COLOR. Gawd. XD Pretty things were displayed neatly on either wall. They only had maybe 3-4 racks of clothes. They had a small selection of bags in the corner. Needless to say I left in less than 5 minutes because I didn't see anything good despite the cleanliness. I am very disappointed that this is no longer a bookstore, but now classified as a boutique. I'd love to see it as a bookstore again. I recommend SAVERS Thrift Store in Arcadia, they have a well organized, good size book section. I didn't check out the bookstore, but I donated several bags of clothes here. Fast and convenient just park in the back and you get a receipt emailed to you right away. I didn't even have to enter the store. The door appears closed, but once you open the door someone will come out and help you. read more

This place is never open! Someone is always on break apparently. I tried to donate all throughout the week before work, and whenever I stop by a sign will read "on break, will be back soon" or they're "too full" and I know someone can just open the door and let me drop off my items as I'd seen a man with a hat and a beard just on his phone Monday who could've just opened the donations for me to drop off two bags, but instead lazily did nothing, the man was clearly just on his phone and even vaping at one point indoors, do better goodwill! read more

I've been going to this cute small goodwill since it was a bookstore and had little things here and there. I would find great things and I use to go every other day. I was obsessed. I loved the way it used to be so organized with circular racks and easy to access and now everything is so crowded in 3 rows. Not only that there are hardly any good stuff as if they select all the good items and send it somewhere else and this store is left with cheap overpriced items. The prices have gotten out of control. It's not like goodwill does a lot of great things it only hires people unlike Salvation Army that does a lot for the community. I use to love this place not only because of the great employees at that location but because of the quality of things I use to find and the prices were reasonable. Now, I rather go to marshals because it's almost the same price.Who ever is making the changes it's ruining the experiences at goodwill. From going every other day now I go once every month, maybe. I do have to mention Natalie is one of the best employees and always very friendly and the place is always clean and organized. read more

Donation center is around the back door. Do not make the mistake I did and go through the front waiting for someone to help you. There's no sign to let you know it's in the back. This is my first time at this location, I didn't even know the back was accessible. The guy that helped me was rude. He pretty much made me feel stupid for going through the front. He didn't really talk, no Hi, no how can I help you. Luckily I didn't spend too much time there. Books! This goodwill is focused on books. Lots and lots of books to look through and purchase. read more

This was always the bijou relation to their Pasadena bookstore. I couldn't guarantee I'd find something great, but I picked up enough fairly-priced music and books to keep me coming back over the years. Now, some corporate dictat has transformed every Goodwill bookstore into a "boutique": the same clothes you'd buy at a regular thrift but more expensive and much fewer of them. The shelves that were once crammed with books are now bare except for a few vases and tchotchkes. What a waste. This place is so clean! Very helpful in accepting donations - I barely walked into the door with two large bags of clothes and an employee had already come walking toward me to help me with the bags. He probably saw that I was stumbling, but he was very friendly and quick to take my donation bags and ask me if I wanted a receipt. I went to drop off some donations a few days ago (mid-January 2020) and saw a sign on the back door saying that they're no longer taking donations at that location. Looking at the Goodwill website, the closest donation center seems to be in Pasadena's west side. I'm considering whether to use that location (which is kinda on my way home from work) or locating another destination for my donations that is closer to my home in Arcadia. read more

I go into this place and read a David Sedaris book and I'm laughing out loud HA HA HA and a not so passive onlooker walks up to me. He hands me a copy of When You Are Engulfed in Flames. And what's not to love about that? In fact, plenty to love about this whole damn concept: a Goodwill Bookstore full of awesome paperback and hardcover reads for $1.99 and $2.99 respectively with no tax. And then that gentleman and I get into the topic of funny books and I mention some classics he hasn't thought to look at: Woody Allen's, Getting Even. Tom Wolfe's, A Man in Full. And he informs me of Bob Newhart's, I Shouldn't Even be Doing This! and Jerry Seinfeld's Halloween book. He also advises me to check out "... anything by Denis Leary." Are you not enthused that there is a place strapped on to this affluent strip of San Gabriel Valley that one can browse and talk to knowledgeable yet down to earth fellow readers about books? And you can buy those books and the money goes to charity and it does you and the world some good. Oh and then my not quite two year old kid finds a coloring book for not quite two bucks. The book is not used in any ostensible way, and we spend many enjoyable hours coloring in it. And I finish Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim and my wife sits nearby asking me what the heck is so funny. read more

I used to come here and leave with a few books guaranteed. Pretty heartbreaking to see the stacks of books turned into two racks of clothes. The space was small and perfect for books and knickknacks, now.... They got rid of all that for two racks of clothes. There were a few cool Tiger dishes. Looks like from a large set. But otherwise disappointing in that it doesn't excel at anything in particular, and it's too small do everything. Probably won't return as it is now. read more

I finally went here last weekend after driving by it for so many times and deciding to not stop. When I stepped in the store, I did not know where to go first because of the selection. It's not a huge place but it's enough to get someone who loves books and reading very excited. They had many best selling books available but since I was already holding a few records, I had to restrain myself. There a are also a couple of shelves with vinyl records. They had great titles from the 70s, however, they were scratched up and we were concerned that they won't play as well as we'd like anymore. Also need to mention that the place is clean and is organized (aesthetically speaking). read more

As usual, a tidy, small storefront. Prices here are about 20 to 30% higher than a regular Goodwill for books. LPs a flat $1.99. Nothing of note. They don't discount colors. As a child of the 90s, I actually almost bought Oregon Trail II for $4, but figured that I would probably get cholera, dysentery, or tuberculosis, so I passed. Wow. Best bookstore experience I've ever had!! The employee was so helpful! I asked if they had any Harry Potter books and he automatically showed me where they were. He even helped me look for the ones I didn't yet have! And he checked in on us to make sure we were doing ok. The books are so inexpensive I am so happy!! I may be wrong but it seems they are all $1.99 and $2.99, no matter the book! For example, I found "Crazy Rich Asians" new condition for $1.99!!! What?!!!
