If you're looking for skis they have plenty! They also had a nice selection of name brand snow pants but for $50 each which is pretty steep. Prices were all over the place. Jeans were priced $10-20. Shirts were $5-$12. Jackets $10-$50. I didn't find anything for myself but found some stuff for my husband. Some $5 t-shirts, a $12 Columbia button up, and $20 AG jeans. They do weekly sales on colors here and this week was 50% Blue tags but of course we didn't find anything with a blue tag lol. It was neat to go into a goodwill that is stationed in a different climate area to see what different types of things are donated. Here you could find anything snow weather related. But my intentions were to put some outfits together that I could wear in my line of work. Which I was able to do successfully. 5 outfits and two additional tops, and something for the granddaughter for around $60. Which I found to be a deal considering what full retail would have been. This location if kept really organized. And they have a nice little staged drop off area in the front right hand corner. I'd hate to share but this is lowkey the best goodwill around. They have new books published within the past year or two all the time in great condition ($2 for paperback and $3 for hardcover). The knickknack section is always great. They have a lot of shoes, ski equipment, and games too. The workers are kooky but very friendly. read more

This Goodwill was pretty impressive with its inventory and organization, and the prices were reasonable too! On my visit, there were a lot of cute clothes, snowboards, furniture, and beautiful dining pieces. I picked up a couple tea cups and matching saucers for less than $4 for the pair...of course I had to hunt for the matching saucer down another aisle, but that's part of the fun of thrifting! I think this Goodwill gets a lot of stuff because they're really the only gig in town, minus the two local thrift stores down the street that never seen to be open. read more

Pretty well organized and clean for a GOODWILL. The prices were a little high but it is Tahoe. The line at the cashier was so slow and it is just frustrating when you see other employees just standing around talking when they could open another register. When you spend the day with Debbie P it will involve wine and junking. On our recent trip to some California wineries, we came home through South Lake. Driving through town I hear- "oh a Goodwill store." Missing the entrance, I made an immediate right at the CVS next door. Goodwill has a nice large lot out front. Inside, this store is incredibly clean and well organized. I just can't believe the great layout. Signage marks every department. Here you can find clothing for everyone in the family, furniture, home goods, records, and books. Oddly I found several items that were brand new. Looks like overstock items from Walmart land here. Never Again! This place is the worst! Trying to donate or shop here will get you verbal abuse by their staff. The line of cars making donations hangs out in the highway, because they're not clever enough to do it better. Same on the inside. Often long lines to pay. Derp! The final straw came when the guy dumped the 2 large tubs of vintage Pyrex, collectable$ and gla$$ wear I was donating upside-down into a huge bin. I heard everything I hauled & waited in line to donate crash to the ground and break. Their guy handling the donations is aggressive and straight up abusive. This Goodwill is honestly the best one I've ever visited. The store is spotless, no clothes on the floor, everything neatly organized. My favorite part was seeing the books sectioned by genre, it was so easy to browse! I'm really impressed. The staff were super friendly, and I even noticed that when someone sneezed, they said "bless you" out loud. Amazing customer service! read more

Second time here at this location. I was here last year while visiting Lake Tahoe and I was amazed at how organized and put together this Goodwill was. They had a ton of snow gear, unfortunatly, not what I was looking for. Needed a sled or toboggan for some snow fun at the snow park but didnt find any. I new my chances were slim considering it was a peak time during the season for snow activities. The employees here are very welcoming and friendly. We were greated as soon as we walked in the door wich made us feel welcomed. I had to come back and see what treasures I would find. Well I found some good bargains. Padigonia puffer jacket in good condition for only $19.00, a steal. Padigonia rain jacket for $20.00. Last year when I was in Tahoe purshased a rain jacket at the Padigonia store for $!80.00. What a diffrence. Got 3 name brand blouses for $6.99 each and they were in very good condition. The deal of the day was a pair of Burgundy pony hair loafers from Cole Haan. Yes I had to get them they were like new condition, berly stepped in. They retail around $150.00-$200.00, I got a steal for $20.00. Yes, they coming home with me. If you need ski equipment, clothing and snow gear, they have a wide selection of items at a low cost. I recently had a disappointing experience at Goodwill that I feel compelled to share. Upon checking out, I encountered a cashier who was not only stand-offish but also demonstrated a complete lack of competence in their role. The cashier seemed utterly clueless and incompetent, acting dumbfounded and unaware of basic procedures. Their demeanor was extremely unprofessional and left me feeling frustrated and disrespected as a customer. Furthermore, the cashier's lack of knowledge about store policies and procedures only exacerbated the situation. It was clear that they were ill-equipped to handle even the simplest of tasks, which made the checkout process unnecessarily lengthy and unpleasant. Overall, I was deeply disappointed by the level of service I received at this Goodwill location. I hope that management takes steps to address these issues and ensure that all staff members are adequately trained to provide a more positive and efficient customer experience in the future. Such a wonderful Goodwill! Has a lot more personality than most locations I have been to. Great regional and seasonal selection. Beautiful selection of lamps and stereos especially. Also loved that they had a permanent holiday section. Didn't leave with anything today, but sometimes that's how thrifting goes. This Goodwill was so well organized with a vast collection of items. The prices are certainly Goodwill prices-- higher than individually owned thrifts-- but less-so than other locations I've been to. I have never been to a goodwill this expensive! Stained old north face pants cost $40? Winter jackets range from 29.99-59.99! You can get a better deal and TJ max or Ross. The prices make no sense, a big beautiful vase cost me $3.99 and a tiny one was prices at 12.99?? They were selling Burton snow pants for $50 that had stains.. same ones were on sale for $79 on the Burton website! I will not donate to this store anymore and will donate all winter clothes to the local church. Profits go to training employees and counseling programs not helping homeless and the hungry like the employee rudely screamed across the room as I was walking away. It's disgusting when there CEO makes over $750k/year each local goodwill has its own CEO and board of directors while paying locals $17\hr disgusting. DONATE TO THE LOCAL CHURCH INSTEAD make an ACTUALLY difference in your town! read more

Looking for winter gear? Look no further than this Goodwill. I'll start by saying this is the busiest, most crowded GW I've ever been to. Tight little parking lot filled with expensive vehicles. Inside it's very well organized. Walking in you'll find the biggest selection of used flannel shirts I've ever seen! All color coordinated on a huge rack, ready to go! The aisles are too small to take carts down (maybe invest in smaller carts) They specialize in winter gear, coats, skiis, etc. The housewares section is small, no furniture to speak of, not a lot of toys, linens, etc. The service was fine, not friendly, but not rude either. They were just super busy, and even so the check out line was fast. I would recommend if you're in the area and looking for clothes and treasure hunting the aisles. read more

Donating today was so frustrating. A customer was "donating" taking well over 15 min. Car in front of me dropped off a carload of things. I had 3 bags of clothes. That's it. I asked if I could drop them off. He said ok. The customer taking so much tile now sitting on the bed of his s truck watching me starts to harass me. Saying I am not in my lane? He isn't donating. Sitting watching me. Arguing with me. Other places to donate without dealing with some idiot like this!!!! read more

Lots of great items to buy! Came for a bikini left with much more items; (Pictures enclosed). Great organization, everything in order, but misconceptions and misunderstanding on prices. One clerk states one price and then get to the register, the price changes to a higher price. Not good business for Goodwill. Didn't like that too much, so alot of items got returned to the floor. Hands down the rudest Goodwill ever!!! I've never had more awful experiences and rude employees INCLUDING MANAGEMENT that with this goodwill! For one, they had children, esp the older female manager and the old gentleman employee. One time at check out near the front they had a big toy car my son wanted to look at it. We were next in line the manage RAN OVER and got in the way so my son couldn't even look at it and told him "NO TOUCHIE" -- like WHST?! My son is legally blind he was to be close to see things. I couldn't believe it I was disgusted made a comment and left! Before that time we were again walking around looking my son is 5 and we were being followed by the older gentleman employee. He stood two feet from us the entire time. As if my son or myself were gonna take or do something I had a basket with stuff in it!! But he watched my sons every move it was disturbing. And clearly he and old lady manager are the same with children. Mind you my son wasn't loud. Wasn't disrespectful we were doing our thing looking and grabbing a few thing TO PURCHASE!!! And they've acted like this and been rude to myself and my son every single time, like you hate kids and single moms WE GET IT!! But when the manager ran from behind the counter so my son couldn't event look at the toy which HE ASKED ME FOR PERMISSION FIRST and I said YES look but no touch and he said okay. She saw that interaction and chose this moment to move the fastest in her life and get there first so he couldn't. My son was so confused and sad wtf evil angry awful manager lady- 1. Don't address my son you talk to me 2. If you don't want kids even LOOKING AT TOYS for sale DONT PUT THEM ON DISPLAY!!! ESP BY CHECK OUT Never ever again will I step foot in THERE! She has set the tone for everyone clearly to treat customers like crap and children Ms parents even worse- esp SINGLE PARENTS! So in the name of Christmas my son and I went through his toys and we have four bags to donate and decided let's take it there and he was a big boy for letting go of his toys (parents understand this!) and online says they accept donations 10-6pm. Showed up at 4:30pm and there was a closed sign which is fine we will go back in the morning. It's the rudeness with which the sign was written. It shows once again how awful and rude the STAFF IS (I won't say all I have had two wonderful women at check out who were kind to me and my son before) - not shocked to see a sign showing they're annoyed with their customers and donators and community - sign reads closed "even if you have 1 bag" like what?! Was that necessary to put on your closed sign?! Maybe update your actual hours to reflect properly for one and 2 it couldn't have been a simple Closed, we open at 10am tomorrow THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND DONATIONS! Something lead with kindness ?! Nope cause it's literally the most miserable place ever. Again when you have evil awful negative rude child hating leadership that's going to bleed down into everything they do. She is so awful and horrible and esp to children and parents it's unbelievable and sad because many parents and kids go there and unfortunately feel followed and judged and shamed from her and the way she directly does it to our children is unacceptable. Or has her employees follow us around within personal space watching our every move making us feel like we are in the wrong for shopping in her store because we touch and look at things?! That's the idea. We have never stolen. We have never broken anything. We have always paid and been kind and respectful and we have never not followed a rule or sign "I.e DONT SIT" for furniture etc! She's the YEAR ROUND SCROOGE of Goodwill and has created a culture there based around how horrible and awful she is! That being said I have had two SWEET WONDERFUL women who have been kind to my son and myself at check out! I'm so appreciative of y'all and sorry you're surrounded by such awful management and negativity! Anyways never again will be a customer of Goodwill. It's gross to even think these folks LIVE in the community they are rude and disrespectful and hurtful and UNAPPRECIATIVE to...I can't imagine this is how goodwill wants their brand to be but here we are! You can find some good affordable winter gear here especially for kids. My problem was I purchased a snowboard here for $100/originally $110. The screw hole was stripped and I mentioned it, they dropped price $10..I thought it was still expensive for donated equipment but I went for it. Also bought a pair of snowboard boots for $45 which I thought was overpriced as well but I figured I'd get good use with them. The Snowboard bindings ripped before I got off ski lift. Lol. And the bottoms of one of the boots came off completely by the end of the day haha No big deal since I bought these items used as is, I expect the possibility of damage...but the price. Come on now, I'm only writing this review in the hopes that management reads it. You don't have to charge so much for items that a previous owner determined were low enough value to give away for free. Boots cost 45$ - should've been $15 Snowboard cost 100$- should've been $40 I bought junk for $145, would've rather spent $55. Would've hurt less lol. Just my opinion read more

It's a South Lake Tahoe Goodwill. A lot of people here have higher end stuff. We try not to miss an opportunity to come here when in town. Someone on Yelp said they have a big parking lot but I find the opposite. Hard to find parking space sometimes with how popular this place is so good luck. The place is very clean and organized. Prices are reasonable on most but depending on the brand, it can actually be over priced a little. Still we come to see if we can find something we can live without. read more
