I explained it was a gift for someone, they didn't like it, so they mailed it back to me. By the time I got it, and had a chance to come in again it was a little past the date. I am a local, and I chose to shop local. The tags were still on the item, and I wasn't looking for my money back, but to just exchange for something else. I probably would have ended up spending more. The sales girl said she'd ask the manager to see if it would be ok. She came back and told me she said no. I won't ever be shopping there again!! Also found a perfect butter knife with a pretty little rose engraved on the handle. We went to all the thrift stores in south lake, several of which had a bin like this, and most of them were $1-2/ utensil so I loved the 25c price point! Last Friday I was up in Tahoe, and Tahoe Gear Exchange had what seemed like a good deal, so I bought the bundle: skis, bindings and skins. A week later, here are my thoughts: 1. Both employees were nice, and low-key. The guy called over his coworker, saying that she would know more about the bindings, and she did. 2. The guy soon had to punch-out, and the woman was handling all customers, AND prepping to close. She did a great job doing both. Since buying the equipment, I've learned that it's a great ski for what I need, and a great binding for what I need. It's not this consignment shop's job to carry just equipment for beginners, or just equipment for experts, but my visit worked out great. Thanks Tahoe Gear Exchange! PS - The shop reminded me that everything for sale was displayed on their e-commerce site. That's a reminder to A) look online, and B) to not screw-around if you like something. You could have it in your hands, and someone a hundred miles away could buy it before you committed at the register...

At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!
