The restroom is closed; a sign on the door reads "entry after payment." Even after paying for a…read morepurchase, staff members use the restroom themselves but refuse entry to customers, claiming it is out of order or lacks toilet paper. This has happened twice during different shifts--once on Sunday and again today. It is impossible to shop properly: the first time, I paid for some items just to gain access to the restroom, yet I was still denied entry. Furthermore, you aren't allowed to take items you've already paid for into the fitting room, so ultimately, you can neither continue shopping nor make a purchase. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience: it's summer, you can't drink water, and you can't shop if you need to use the restroom.

When I objected, the work was already partially done, which is exactly how this pricing model works: by the time you understand what you're being charged, items are already at the road and you're negotiating from a losing position. Here's what I want every potential customer to understand: their pricing is based on volume, not effort. A bulky item that could be dismantled into a small pile in five minutes gets billed as a full bulky item. Dismantling furniture is trivial for a company that does this all day -- but they will not volunteer to do it, because bulk is how they charge you more. Before you book them or anyone like them: Ask if any item can be dismantled -- then do it yourself first. A disassembled bed frame or desk costs a fraction of an intact one. Get the total price in writing before a single item is touched. Do not let work begin on a verbal ballpark. Get quotes from 1-800-GOT-JUNK, local independent haulers, or your town's bulk pickup -- many municipalities take furniture at the curb for free or a small fee. I later called to discuss the charge and never received a call back, which tells you how much they value customers after the credit card clears. $265 for 10 minutes. Do the math on that hourly rate and decide for yourself.

No one really has the courage to say anything about the treatment homeless people get in these shelters. However, it's about time and I don't even care if this doesn't reach people because this is a personal gift to pacific house. You have people in this program who havent even been spoken to about housing. People who have been here for months upon months without even being spoken to by a case manager. If that's what you even want to call them. You have us signing contracts saying we'll follow a dress code and that we'll have to even start paying to stay here everyday 5-10 dollars or do landscaping chores. We've been given uncooked meat and people have gotten sick. People overdose day after day and no investigation or care goes into it except for detox and come back and do the same thing. But then you have people getting kicked out for not being able to get a ride back from work or having service to call back. You have people getting harassed by other people living here and never getting even a warning. You have some staff who are cool, and others who give out dirty sheets to people who just don't want to deal with their attitudes. You have higher ups feeling interrogated by people who live here when they just want answers to their questions and end up being left without answers either way. You want to end and prevent homelessness, but all pacific house does is make living and getting better harder for everyone who lives in these places. And we're told we can leave if we're unhappy but are forced to stay because we have no where else to go. There's no alternative and this organization is making people miserable. Those quotes from homeless people on their website are bullshit. And I read you guys have a 4 star rating but, I couldn't find a rating anywhere. So i decided to leave a review. Yeah some people make it out good. But the people who leave have nothing but bad stories about these places. Someone investigate this organization. They have to be violating homeless rights. And if we don't have a right to better treatment, there needs to be a law implemented, because there is no one defending us. We need an advocate, or people need to start advocating for themselves. But it's hard when you have nothing to even start from.
