Place is small, but they have nice clothing and the prices are generally good. Staff very nice.

The restroom is closed; a sign on the door reads "entry after payment." Even after paying for a purchase, staff members use the restroom themselves but refuse entry to customers, claiming it is out of order or lacks toilet paper. This has happened twice during different shifts--once on Sunday and again today. It is impossible to shop properly: the first time, I paid for some items just to gain access to the restroom, yet I was still denied entry. Furthermore, you aren't allowed to take items you've already paid for into the fitting room, so ultimately, you can neither continue shopping nor make a purchase. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience: it's summer, you can't drink water, and you can't shop if you need to use the restroom. read more

What a great Goodwill. This is from the perspective of a donator. Downsizing parents led to a huge amount of things in often great shape to pass on to whoever can love them. Not only does this place have a great mission, but they also have people helping at drop off. They're quite helpful. Reading a few of the negative reviews, there are some petty points. The parking lot can get congested, but that's pretty typical in this part of CT where everybody drives these massive SUVs. If that's your concern then just head to the mall I guess? From the perspective of a buyer, every store like this is very YMMV. A rare find has the adjective "rare" for a reason. read more

This is a great place to drop off stuff you don't want, as they'll take it right out of your car for you. Additionally you can get hardcover and paperback books for about two dollars each. However, the clothing and other linen items are ridiculously over priced. You can find the same or similar items on Amazon, at Target, at Wayfare, or myriad other places that are brand new for the same or less money. Goodwill forgets that they are a low-level thrift store. They are not an upscale second hand store, and they are definitely price gouging the population that is underprivileged and live nearby who utilize this as their source of clothing and housewares. The prices they are charging are ridiculous and out-of-touch. They are not there to serve the community, they are there to make money. Be careful when you shop at a Goodwill, because you are most often not getting a bargain. Even though I'd rather keep used/donated items out of the landfill, I'm apalled when they're asking $15 for a cotton shirt, or $25 for a handbag, or $15 for a throw. These are all items you can get brand new for less money, and once in a while when I have asked the cashier if they would take less for it, they say no. It has taken the fun out of thrifting for me at Goodwill locations. I may continue to donate to them out of convenience but I am sadly not purchasing items from there any longer. read more

Have to agree with the other reviews on here. This place is tiny and gets way too crowded and the parking lot is a nightmare. And in the end, it's not even worth the hassle. Clothing is all boring, new-smelling brand name crap, there's no furniture to speak of, the books suck and I didn't even see any records. The glassware/housewares section might yield some good finds if you could actually get in there and look but the aisles are tiny and the other customers insist on being right on top of you. Now, ordinarily I would be more than happy to suffer the bombardment of the hairy, unwashed to find that depression glass or those musty plaid slacks, but I had my girlfriend with me and I could tell she was getting skeeved out by the place so we left without buying anything. read more

The best part of this store is all the high end clothing they get from local dry cleaners whose owners couldn't be bothered to claim their stuff. Seriously, for less than the price of having your dress shirts cleaned and presses you can buy a like-new shirt cleaned and pressed and still in the plastic. Not a great store at all. They have some pretty serious issues in terms of customer service and they also overprice their items in a HUGE way. All too regularly I see items that they bought from Target clearance/overstock items. They will still have the clearance sticker on them (though the price part is ripped off) and when I look those items up on the Target website they are often cheaper at Target than they are in the store! Additionally they have some really oblivious customer service agents. Sometimes I will stand at the case waiting to look at something for upwards of 5-10 minutes before someone will come over and assist me. In terms of clothes - overpriced. Extremely, EXTREMELY overpriced. Items such as clothing, handbags, home items, shoes, etc. will be marked 10-40 dollars in some cases and shoes are ridiculously overpriced for items that went out of style years ago. One major problem I have noticed is that the cashiers will ask if you want to donate to the mission. If you say no they will sometimes add it on anyway as if you won't notice that they are doing it. I've had this happen to me three times already and three times I haven't said anything because it's been under a dollar. But imagine if they are doing this to multiple people, multiple times and you'll see that there's a problem here. Perhaps it's unintentional and they are so used to hearing a "yes" that they ring it up the same each time, but it still seems a bit weird to me that it happens every so often. Overall they need to do a better job at fairly pricing items and having customer service representatives who pay attention. read more

I recently paid goodwill a visit When I first called the employees were extremely rude and hung up on me when I asked to speak to manager. The store was a complete wreck clothes were every and garbage was all over a the store. When it came to paying for my items employees were again extremely rude and unprofessional! I will never be returning to goodwill and I advise others not to do the same unless you want to be disgusted,insulted and be told to leave the store at 8:30pm when they do not close till nine. read more

There's good clothing and items, the workers are pretty good but there was a lady who looked bothered always, one of my family members (minor) asked where was the bathroom and she just kept walking and saying "I don't know" in a mean way, I don't think people like this should be working in this places. read more

Horrible parking. Always crowded. No carts. Extremely overpriced. What are these people buying??? Everything you could get here would be cheaper and better condition on Ebay. No returns here though, so you better look over that clothing really well because it seems to me like they look at the brand name and do not even inspect stuff that they put out at all. It seems to me like there is a lot of crooked behavior here too because a lot of interesting stuff I would want is missing the tag. I see this at a lot of the goodwills in the cities. From time to time someone shows up at the checkout and they still sell it to that person but would not sell it to me. I guess it is just a matter of knowing the right people. Probably the most overpriced Goodwill on the planet. The people that work here don't seem to understand that used items are generally not as valuable as they were when new. Some of the more absurd examples: An iMac G5, kinda a nice computer five years ago. They wanted $950. WTF? Right next to it they had an old G5 tower that they wanted $1100 for. Really? Beaten up old couches with stains for $100+ are common. I rarely look at the clothes here but they're usually way out of line with what they should be (20-30 bucks for VERY worn coats, etc). There was an old film Canon SLR camera, very beaten up. It was kept in the locked "valuables" cabinet. I opened the battery compartment and crumbling acid came out all over. I doubt it would have worked at all-- Goodwill priced it at $80. There was also an old consumer miniDV camera they wanted $550 for. Playstation 1s and Nintendo 64s missing all cables and controllers go for 40 bucks, old CRT monitors for 50. The people that work at this place seem to be stuck in some kind of 2001 timewarp or something. It's the only explanation for the pricing scheme here. read more

I just had the worst donation experience. I dropped off three pieces of furniture - a 100 year old oak writing desk, a 110 year old oak dresser, and a pine book shelf unit. All were in excellent condition, especially the writing desk. The antiques had been purchased by my family all that time ago. My intention was to give these pieces a new life in a new home. Instead I saw them heaved into a 40' trailer. When they landed they shattered into pieces!!! I was beside myself. I will never, ever have anything to do with this organization again. read more

Offers nice things, but, their big furniture sits outside under a tarp, and their store it wayyyy too crowded. There are no carts for moms like myself to help rangle children, and the aisles are barely enough room to walk down. I took a car seat into this goodwill a couple days ago and barely could get it down the aisle without hitting something. This store is over packed with things and it's hard to look at it all without rubbing up on things or almost taking something out :( read more

I stopped in here after a trip to target labor day weekend. I thought it was pretty well organized and fairly priced. There were a couple oddly priced items, like a seriously beaten up pair of ferragamo slingbacks from the 80s for $55, and a couple coach purses that were also in bad shape for over $100 each. On the other hand I saw a pair of Bally loafers that were flawless, except the soles, for $25, a new with tags cashmere turtleneck for $12, a salmon colored leather skirt for $6. There were a lot of clothes from mall stores in great shape for anywhere between $6 - $14. A lot of Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Abercrombie.... They would be good for someone just starting an office job & in need of an inexpensive wardrobe. They also have a lot of small sizes, which is usually difficult to find. I think sometimes well know designer brands seem more valuable than they are when being priced, but most of the items are at expected thrift store prices. Also, when I was there I saw signs for things like "1/2 off all skirts with blue tags". I don't know how often they have sales like that, but it was a huge discount. I'll definitely go back to stock up on books, records, teacups, and other props for my photography studio. read more
