I went shopping here last week. I've not been in this thrift store for a long time and I remember…read moreit was pretty overwhelming. My friend swears they have the best deals, so I decided to stop by. I was only interested in upcycling home goods like curtains, pillowcases etc. That kept my search a little easier. I found several things I wanted but the prices seemed so high for a thrift store. I went to the cashier and asked if they ever have home goods on sale, figuring I'd just wait to get those items. He pointed to a huge sign I missed when I walked in. Everything except clothing was 75% off! So instead of checking out with one thing I had several for a total of $12! I don't know how often they run that sale but it was worth my time. They have a lot of everything and I found the clerks very friendly and helpful.

Other than the plants, I didn't really find much about this Salvation Army that impressed me. There are a lot of clothes, and there is a separate section with higher-end clothing that cost more than the other clothes. There are lots of shoes here, too. The walls are lined with housewares and other random things for the home. They were even selling some vintage rock posters.

A man comes out and says "the website is wrong. it's an hour off. we stopped taking donations for the day". "we don't control the website, it's up in Indy". So they can't call Indy and have them punch in a correct time? obviously everyone there knew because I didn't get a chance to say anything about the website. People don't want to go back and unload at home and come back days later. I went straight to goodwill and they have a drive-thru and came out and took everything.

From the outside the shop had several outfits in the windows and lit up by lights. Nice outfits too as people are thinking of spring events. Inside was not as impressive. Like other shops you'll find clothing, shoes and accessories. I looked through a few racks and most had various price tags. Along the walls we found books, kitchen accessories and home decor. I was hoping to see more home decor and small items but they were a bit slim. Pricing also didn't have me making spur of the moment splurges. Service was friendly and we checked out quickly. They keep several branded items and clothing along the walls for purchase. If you want to promote Shirley's Way, the items are quality brands. We'd stop by again when in the area. One never knows what might be found.

A strange place, next to the 5/3 Bank. There is so much stuff here that it's hard to describe, save…read morethat it's not big on clothing. We found some interesting and inexpensive stuff, like a $5 red Asian rug runner in perfect shape. It's not unlike a fleamarket and has different stall-like areas. There is an interesting clock/watch shop, another that has tons of costume jewelry. There is such a wide variety of stuff at reasonable prices, that it's tough to really describe the diversity. There are ladders and pails and tools, and flags, and so much stuff. Worth a browse if you're in the neighborhood. Totally curious, only mildly organized. That's what makes it fun, I suppose. It's about two miles W of Abyss, another interesting thrift store. They're very dissimilar. You'll see what I mean.

We have dropped donation items off at this location several times in the past few years and…read moreappreciate how easy it is, as well as the mission of this business. There are several locations, and this one is located in the Hamburg area near Tractor Supply as a landmark. The drop off is on the right hand side of the building and can pull up and employees will collect the donated goods. They have signage directing where to enter the single drop off lane. There are also posted signs listing what can and cannot be donated. Staff are polite and helpful. I have not been inside the building or made a purchase to this point, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this business. I do know that the mission statement has been to sell donated items and then to utilize those funds to assist victims of abuse, which has our support 100%. (Side note: I also choose to donate here rather than at another specific well known charitable drop-off site which has high prices and high administrative costs, resulting in less funds going to the people it claims to serve.)
