The layout is great. This space was definitely created with intention and a lot of care. It is so much nicer than your regular Salvation Army. Parking lot on the side and there was even a larger parking lot tucked in the back for overflow.

We were very happy to help. I did spend 15 minutes looking through the store and they had a nice mix of stuff, but I didn't find anything I wanted...well other than my 3 books. We stayed up at Steele Hill for…read morethe weekend and passed this little shop a couple times during our stay and I knew I had to stop in before we went back home. So glad we did! The fudge is to die for and they have so many different flavors to choose from. The shop also sells NH and NH made novelty items... maple syrup, tea, soy candles, chocolates, T-shirt's, sweaters, mugs, body scrubs, popcorn, etc. Although you have lots to choose from and the fudge is amazing... the best part is the warm and friendly service we received even before getting out of our car. The owner was extremely warm and helpful... and customer service is number one in my book! He mentions he will be expanding services even more in the months to come. And I can't wait to be back to have some tea while getting a foot massage and eating some fudge! If you're in the area, passing by, or even if you're not in the area... add this little hidden gem to your list of stops to make. You won't regret it!

She's very picky--you'd think that a rock wouldn't be hard to find in the Granite State, but she had stipulations. Plus, it had just snowed about 3 feet, so any rocks that might around sure weren't visible. So, we called around to a few places to ask about rocks. We got a lot of puzzled looks (through the phone), until we reached George. He said, "Well... sure we have rocks. Are you staying Steele Hill Resort?" We were. "Okay, come by tomorrow, and I'll have a couple rocks for you." So, we went. The shop was clearly closed for the winter season, but we called George and he can down from his home (on the same property) and gave us a selection of rocks from the boundary wall of his property. We tried to give him some money, but he refused. We told him thanks and that we would have to come back sometime to check out his shop. He asked if we wanted to check out the candy, and we said, okay, if not too much trouble. Nothing was too much trouble for George. He opened up the shop, told us about how it was a labor of love for him and his family, lots of local goods, including maple syrup from the farm up the street. And fudge, all sorts of different, delicious fudge. They also had plenty of novelty gifts, hand-screened sweatshirts and t-shirts, and a little coffee nook overlooking the fields and lake in the distance (can't remember if we could see the lake--but it was there!). Needless to say, we couldn't help ourselves from picking up a few souvenirs and happily supporting a local business and businessman who obviously cared about his customers and how he treats them. We can't say enough nice things about Granite Life--friendly, convenient if you're in the area, wide selection of souvenirs with local flare, and just a generally good vibe to take home with you. Highly, highly recommended. Oh, and Gramma liked the rock--not too flashy, but she loved the story and the history of it. The cats live right in the store, and they're unmistakably the stars of the show. The shop is full of character, with a mix of antiques, secondhand finds, and seasonal surprises. Prices are fair, and the volunteers are warm, helpful, and clearly invested in the mission. Every purchase supports Safe Haven's no-kill shelter work, and that sense of purpose makes the place feel extra special. If you're anywhere near Wells, it's absolutely worth stopping in. It's cash only, but luckily they accepted my PayPal since I drove an hour to get there. I scored a Wilson leather purse and some vintage jewelry, and even found a child's lunchbox with "Yelp" on the cover, which I thought was pretty humorous since I'm writing this review here. I could've spent another hour browsing, but hunger won out. Definitely a must-stop if you're in or passing through Tilton. I'll be back on my next day off!

It is part of All Saints Episcopal Church Community Outreach program. The volunteers are always so welcoming and friendly. The shop is well laid-out for men's women's and children's clothing. Everything is clearly marked and sized. I was surprised that the day I visited: everything was half price - a really welcome surprise. I found two lovely blouses and a pair of walking shoes - all for $3.00. The shop is open on Thursday and Friday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. If you are in the area, do stop in and support their outreach program.

My morning thrift store mood is one of ease, having released the stresses of the week - excitement…read moreof walking into new surroundings unsure of what display will greet me and at no time of the year is this more omnipresent than after Halloween - early in November. Vivaldi's 'Winter' plays in my head as I step inside and the Russian Nutcracker dolls stare a warm blankness of welcome back at me - and I begin to observe things more closely as I go - to the end of the rainbow. Norwegian cup sets and German decorative plates are set up in front of flowing paintings of cherry blossoms, oils of creepy kids and alternative art canvases and it darn near broke my heart to leave the French prints behind. Look up to see candelabras and left to see a antique ice bucket - all of this I adore. Manual hand mixers and beaters next to flour and sugar silos, enamel coffee pots and Pyrex tanned glass crockery. My arms were filling up so I bought two bags and went hither and tither and placed two egg cups inside and a Ralph Lauren roll-up mat with pillow. Between the hand blown blue and green glass galore the large pewter population, frosted glass of polar bears and Mickey Mouse - I had to have it all, but I live on the road and I shant - much to my sadness my rainbow was shortened on this day.
