This review is not for the establishment, but for Tony himself. I came in here with my older mother on her birthday to shop around. We didn't find too much, but a few things she liked so we head for the checkout lane. An older quiet man with a beard rings up us. $12 for 4 things. I pay. Doesn't sound right to me, so lo and behold he rang one of my pairs of house shoes up for 1.99 correctly & the other pair 4.99. I tell him this and receive nothing but silence. No apologies or anything to fix it. Calls Tony up to register. Tony doesn't even make eye contact with me or my mother. My mother cannot stand for long periods of time so she walks to the car to sit. Tony is hitting random keys for five minutes straight. Not a single moment of eye contact or a single apology. After literally five minutes I ask whats wrong. I get a mumbled response that I can't hear. I ask him to speak up because I didn't hear him and he ignored me so I'm assuming he said something rude. I stand another five literal minutes. I tell him I'll take a gift card if that'll work quicker. Again, silence. At this point I'm feeling disrespected as all get out. Still hasn't explained the problem or apologized. Five more minutes and he asked me for my ID so he can screw me out on a return if I ever need one in the future. At this point I'm ready to just walk out but I don't. He was going to give me a gift card but I told him I no longer wanted the shoes so he gave me $5.14 in cash. I'm not an idiot and I watched him count the coins in his hand twice. I told him he still owes me 20 cents, as my item was rang up for 4.99 + the .35 tax the state of Indiana charged me. He finally made eye contact to look at me with hatred. I told him I could see the receipt in his hand that said I needed 5.34 back. This sad little man is a sad excuse to be seen with the Goodwill name. $3 is not a lot of money, but it is the point that I was incorrectly charged and never made eye contact with until I spoke up for myself or any humanly gesture; then not given the right amount of money back on purpose as if it were a game. The fact that this man is a manager is beyond me, if he is. I've found some pretty good stuff here and the older woman who works here is so nice & greets customers when they come in, hence the 2 stars instead of 1 star. Shame as I really liked this Goodwill but I probably won't return for awhile. read more
