Not much employee visibility. No customer greetings. Nothing stood out from other non super store goodwills I have visited. Cleanliness was decent and found some hidden gems after minutes of digging through items. Really appreciated the big parking lot and easy access. read more

I ABSOLUTELY love this Goodwill location. I have become a regular customer at this store, that when I don't come in one day to shop, the entire staff notices. The staff here is AMAZING, especially the young lady named Tara. She (Tara) always has a smile on her face and does not hesitate to go out of her way to help the customers. Tara is the best!!! The employees here are so friendly. They stay busy organizing the clothes and putting out new inventory. There is constantly new inventory here. Lots of kids clothes. I often find designer brands for very low prices. Highly recommend. read more

I did not see the downtown location, but both are as equally disappointing. I went to the downtown location and was denied a sale due to an item not having a price tag. I understand the employee was only doing her job but then she asked if I was over 55, then asked if I wanted to round up for a donation. Sorry, but not sorry, Goodwill is selling donated (FREE) items, to turn around and reject a sale, then insult someone about their age who is not even close to 55, just to close out asking for a donation? Absolutely not! You can get the donation from your millionaire CEO! When did Goodwill become so corporate?? It isn't "good" like it used to be and I will no longer support Goodwill. There are really nice local thrift stores that are truly non-profit generating revenue for low income medical care and food pantries that don't have a fallout when an item shows up without a price tag. I do not recommend Goodwill, especially in Tyler, Texas! read more

I went in on a Monday to get senior discount. They rang up without 10% senior discount. They said I wouldn't be charged. They rang it up again with discount. I got my credit card statement and it showed both charges. 23.37 with discount and 25.81 without. I was in store for over 25 minutes with them trying to get discount correct. I've been in a lot of goodwills. This one is a mess. There is so little organization and the merchandise is just a mess. Gross.

Nice selection of clothes and accessories for a good price. All items are clean and the staff are beyond friendly. You can even find some nice selections in the electronics center and during Christmas you can get cheap trees. Perfect addition to the community. The only thing lacking is the atmosphere, but what can you expect from a GW. I recommend for all thrifters in the Tyler area! read more

Just moved to Tyler and was dropping some purged items off at this location. I pulled up and there were several people standing around and they stared at me. Eventually an employee walked over (kind of looking like a deer caught in the headlights) and asked if I had anything to donate. I said "yes, everything in the back" Her reply was, "evverrrytthhing in the back?" I said "yes." At this point it was awkward but not terrible. Then, without saying anything she walked off and returned shortly with a cart. She opened my trunk, asks me to hold the cart and then pulls out this yellow stool, looks at it and goes, "no! No! No! No! Spider webs! No!" Then she slides it back in my trunk. Then, she pulls a couple of other items. At this point, another employee comes up and the girl looks at another item and tries to hand it to him because it had spider webs on it. He told her, to grab her own d**m stuff and proceeded to grab another item. At this point, the girl just tossed my item 3 or 4 feet onto the cart and said, "ew, ew" and I was like, "hey that is a really nice item, don't throw it" She just looked at me. Then, she asked "is this all that goes?" I said, "no, everything goes!" (again) The other guy starts telling me how all the people he works with are like her, "all d**m crazy!" At this point, I am just over the entire thing, it's been about 5 minutes of this. Then, the girl goes "I gotta jump" and proceeds to belly flop into my trunk to reach a box that she could have just opened the back passenger door to reach (I have an SUV.) She goes "oh" and walks around to the side, opens my door, and grabs a George Forman grill and goes, "no,no,no,no. We can't take this, it's dirty." I replied probably a little to sassy, "is it actually dirty or do you just not want to touch it?" She doesn't answer my question and says, "we are taking it, would you like your receipt?" I open my other door and take out the items that were missed and she goes, "oh! Was that supposed to go?" I replied, "yes, everything goes!" as I put the item onto the cart. The , she asked me again if I wanted my receipt and I go "no, I just want to leave." She replies "so you don't want your receipt?" I reply, "no" and I start cleaning off the item they refused to take (which was not dirty in my opinion) and I hand it to the other man who takes it with no problem. Then, she comes back up to me and says "I'm sorry. Would you like your receipt?" Again, I said "no" and I got in my car and left. I've dropped off items at Goodwill's across multiple states and this by far was the strangest interaction I have ever had. Employees not doing their job. Employees doing their job while talking poorly about their coworkers. Employees standing around while there is work to do. Clearly there is a management issue going on at this location. It will need to improve for me to come back to shop or donate with them. read more

I love the prices here & the selection too however I'm not a big fan of the rude staff here good luck at finding anyone willing to help you of tell you the price on something not tagged.. I keep going back to this Goodwill. Last time I went in there looking for clothes, I spent $35 and walked out with a ton of great, funky stuff. I have also found a great drafting table for $35, and an air hockey table for $30 (not full sized, but in great condition). If you are looking for 70s and 80s stufff, it's a great place to check out (just don't take all the good stuff...leave me some for next time I go!). read more

The prices are horribly high (dirty and broken). Same price you can buy NEW at Walmart in perfect shape. Years ago (under different management) the place was a great place to shop. Enjoyed going because you can visit with the same customers each time. Now, its gone downhill. Our local Hangers of Hope on the loop is the BEST place to go. I don't even donate at Goodwill anymore. My 'good' stuff goes to The Hanger where it is respected and appreciated. I just don't understand why the powers to be at Goodwill can't improve the place. I stopped going there when their $$$$$ shot thru the roof. They get free merchandise, but when they start charging more for clothes than the store tags markdowns...greedy. If they want to screw people they need to remove original store tags (true all tags had been marked down by original store) then add a higher price, for example Dillard's....well no!!! Also hate their pricing not consistent. A set of 4-6 glasses...often 3 of them have completely different prices! I used to spend hours in there and furnished most of my first apt from them!!! It was great. I know they have a huge overhead but they don't have to invest in any inventory. If they've gone back to being reasonable in their prices....not as low as garage sale prices...Ill be thrilled to shop there again. read more

Bought a practically brand new sectional for super cheap($160). Checking out was simple enough, it was the loading process that left a bad taste in my mouth. The workers that "helped" us load it up, were completely rude and disrespectful. When they brought it out they ran into the doorway with it...twice. Literally slammed it down on the ground and threw my cushions on the ground while I was trying to load them in my backseat. Ive never dealt with the employees inside so I dont know if they all have this shit attitude but it really detoured me from visiting since. read more

The prices can be on the high side, when compared to Cornerstone or St. Vincent De Paul. They wanted $2 for a children's game that was missing most of its parts. St. Vincent De Paul had a complete game for $2. I also don't like that they don't advertise the weekly auction they have on Saturdays for large items. The only reason I know about it is from a co-worker who knows someone who works there. read more

Went in to buy some work clothes. I spent about 20 minutes looking around, and was not impressed. Most thrift stores will try to organize pants by waist size and shirts by S, M, L, XL. This store didn't seem to bother organizing anything hardly at all. Khaki shorts had men/womens together, and all different sizes were just hung randomly. You had to look at the tag inside to see what size it was. Same goes for shirts & jeans. Tshirts mixed in with long & short sleeve polos, button-downs, and even dress shirts. After 20 minutes of trying to find my size polo shirt and shorts, I gave up and went elsewhere. I won't be back. read more

Big, relatively clean, but the usual in terms of Goodwill Stores. I expect more of the superstores.

Men's selection isn't very extensive, but they can't help what they're given. The prices are better than in some towns. They tend to have a ton of furniture at this location for some reason, and a ton of electronics and accessories, along with gobs of wall-hangings, etc. i think primarily of clothing when i go to goodwill, but a guy could furnish a living room pretty easily, including a $20 tv. The people, I should point out, are all quite nice. read more

Now living in Austin, I found that the Tyler Goodwill is an untapped goldmine for vintage clothing. I find that a lot of the Goodwill stores in Austin are somewhat picked over by eagle-eyed vintage shoppers. You then find (probably) the same articles of clothing selling for much more at Buffalo Exchange or other vintage boutiques. When walking into their superstore, I immediately found a great Member's Only jacket that actually fit me for $6, a vintage Oscar de la Renta overnight bag ($4), a great looking American Tourister carry-on ($4), and numerous sweaters and skirts. I felt like I got away with highway robbery. I'm probably putting my foot in my mouth by posting this for everyone to see, but I hope that this particular Goodwill remains Tyler's best kept secret that apparently many Tylerites don't yet appreciate!
