Stopped in yesterday to this location and the place was definitely hopping. The store was relatively clean and all the staff I talked to were friendly. Given the amount of people shopping due to the 50% off sale the checkout process was quick and efficient. I would shop this location again. Bought a chair literally one day and came back to pick up the next day and was told they didn't have it. This store used to be one of my favorite Goodwill's but the prices have gone way up and the manager they have running the store now is so rude , I picked up a pair of pants that had no tag there was an employee hanging clothes and she witnessed they had no price she said the cashiers would price them , when I was paying I told the cashier they had no price if she could price them , she told me the manager would have to price them . I felt it wasn't going to be good because I heard the manager talking very rude to other customers , also heard other employees complaining about her . (She's a tall very blonde older lady ) but I never imagined she would price them so high . Even the cashier said that she thought they were way overpriced , 39.99!!!! For a pair of used pants ! That we're not a name brand ‍ I did mention to the cashier I was going to leave a review about the situation. . I don't know if these reviews get to upper management? They are a THRIFT store taking donations of USED items supposedly to help people with their careers and enable people to acquire items that they can afford. Nope! They charge RETAIL for used items. They have out priced Ross, TJMaxx, and Target with USED items. What is so wrong with charging items below retail to benefit the community? Nothing. Instead they squeeze every last cent on DONATED items. My niece checked out and the manager took her jeans from her and changed the price higher as she was checking out. He didn't want to honor the tag of the day price. So very greedy! read more

I recently purchased an amplifier at your new store on Bell and the 303 in surprise. That day I quickly ran in and made a small purchase and saw the amplifier that was marked 99.00 but was a purple tag indicating that it was half off. When I got home, I told my husband about it and we returned to the store to purchase the amp. When we got home, we tried it out but it was defective. The next day, I went to return he the item and realized that I did not have the original receipt but had the receipt from the other item I purchased on the same day. I also had the screen shot of the purchase for the exact amount of 49.99 from my bank showing the purchase from the Goodwill. The manager refused to give me in store credit for my defective item and treated me like a criminal. Clearly non of their electronics are tested and are unreasonably priced. This item was marked 99.99!! I will be patronizing and donating to other thrift stores in the future based on Goodwill's terrible customer service. read more

Stopped in to return a pair of shorts that didn't fit my son. I didn't have a receipt, not certain if that's my fault or Goodwills, but was offered $1.00 due to no receipt. I asked for the number to corporate to express my disappointment. I also asked for the managers name. This is why my review is low...the manager told me he would not give me his name because he doesn't know if I'll follow him home or beat him up in the alley...what???? I am in my mid 50s and this guy was in his early 30s...he was worried about ME taking him down in the alley! The most ridiculous thing I ever heard. I ask management to pull the surveillance video from today to hear that I not once raised my voice or was in any way threatening to anyone. That comment was uncalled for...I thought employees wore name tags, why would asking for his name be a problem?!?! Many other thrift stores in the area...steer clear of this store. read more

While out and about today we decided to check out this location. I really like the newest location on Reems and Cactus. This location is definitely more run down and less organized. Shelves are packed with so much stuff you'll be lucky if it doesn't all come crashing down. Pretty dirty in some areas and one cashier. It was pretty busy and the line long. I will say I have pretty good luck finding board games in decent shape with all the pieces even. My daughter found some clothes she liked and today must've been my lucky day because I found a set of brand new pots pans. I'll stick to the new location. read more

The people in the donation center would not let us donate a very nice tv stand stating they didn't have enough room, called spoke to manager, he did not check and said "um I don't know, maybe go drop off to El Mirage" unhelpful, not donating to Goodwill anymore so they can just overcharge people anyway. read more

Terrible attitudes by the employees. Worst I have experienced. I donated a bunk bed and a very nice reptile enclosure. The bed was of course in pieces. They too Al the parts and just started throwing them. They don't care about anything. The staff yelled at me to not set stuff on the ground and to not enter the store. I was only trying to help make things go faster since there was a decent line to drop off. I won't be coming back here. The manager was even there and she was very rude to me as well. I suggest finding another location. read more

I was in this store earlier today and purchased a number of smalls. Total was $21.25. I didn't realize that I left one of the bags behind. When I got home and realized that a bag was missing I called the store checking to see if my items were still there and put away for safety. The young man I talked to said he saw the bag I left behind but didn't know what happened to it. I then spoke to the manager, Nathan, and he told me that "after all they are a THRIFT STORE and they put items left back on the shelf if the receipt is not in the bag. The receipt was in that bag. I brought a $7.49 piano keyboard without a 12v power cord. I asked the cashier at least twice if I can return for store credit if it does work. He told me if it doesn't work you have 7 days for return store credit only he made sure I understood store credit only. I asked him about a red sticker on the item he advised Goodwill doesn't offer a warranty which is understandable I asked him but I can return it if it does not work he replied YES 7 days and store credit only. The keyboard does not work so, today I tried to return it with receipt and because of that red sticker Goodwill doesn't honor returns it's a no return policy. WHAT... I spoke to the manager he still would not honor a return for store credit. At this point I'm annoyed cause the cashier advised me I could return it if it didn't work which it didn't. I could have easily removed the red sticker and returned it but obviously I was told I could. I m not that kind of person to do that anyways. I would have not bought the keyboard had the cashier properly informed me . I told the manager to keep the keyboard handled him the receipt and decided that moving forward Goodwill lost a customer. Goodwill manager should have honored his employees mistake as the customer lost money. Goodwill has way more money than me but, hey I paid $7.49 plus tax and now Goodwill can sell it again and they made $15.00 bucks off a donated item. Goodwill should be shamed taking advantage of the poor and disabled I told the employee I have low vision and can't see good. I wanted to purchase a lamp and asked the cashier attendant if I could see if it worked before I purchased. He was a kind young worker and stated there was a testing location in the back. The lamp had no bulb so I asked if they had one. The attendant called the manager up and after asking her about the bulb she was less than pleasant and said they didn't have any bulbs to test it. Ok...but the managers dismissiveness was off putting to be in such a position. I think the young cashier had better people skills that (the manager) could adopt when engaging with the public. read more

Like any thrift store it's hit or miss. Sometimes you can find great stuff sometimes you find nothing. They recently raised all the prices & some of them are way too high. Books have gone up $1 or more, most hardbacks now marked at $3.99. My daughters like to search through the stuffed animals and yesterday she found a couple Beanie Boos, both were the same size, one was priced at $4.99 the other $1.49. You can get them new for $7-$10 so the $5 one that was in bad shape anyway got put back. read more

We attempted to donate some very nice very good quality furniture to the good Will and the employee without looking at our items told us to take our belongings to the dump. When we spoke to the manager about her employees conduct she acted like she didn't care. This is an organization that makes lots of money off of free charitable items you would think they could spend a little bit on training in regards to customer service. They have weekly $1 sales just like other goodwills, but the problem is they remove most of the $1 colors before the sale even starts. What's the point of advertising $1 day if you remove almost all of the clothing before anyone can actually buy it. The other surprise location and the el mirage location dont remove sale colors before the sale. Why do you? If you need to make room for new clothes why not put the clothing on a rolling rack and pull it out for the sale? Makes no sense, you pull off the clothes and pay to have it trucked to the Phoenix clearance center and they sell it there for about $1 a pound. One of my favorite stores. They have great stuff compared to their other stores. Problem is they are over pricing on used donated stuff. 5 bucks more or 10 and I can buy a brand new one. WTH really! The once beautiful new store is getting run down and dirty outside. Trash is often overflowing and the huge parking lot is trashy and littered. Good staff, pretty clean overall, has good turnover of items. Can go every couple days and find more treasures. Have found basically new Converse and Vans shoes there for $8-$12. Good selection, constantly changing Sales on different colored tags. Can get clothes, shoes, home decor, furniture, kids books and more. They process returns quickly and don't hassle you. They offer store credit on returns. The managers are friendly. read more
