Gem of a thrift shop! The proceeds go to an amazing cause. While the store is smaller than other thrift shops, I liked that because it wasn't overwhelming to look at everything. Things are well organized and easy to look through. The men's clothing selection is quite small so just be prepared. We didn't find any clothing this time around, but we did find some other good stuff! The staff is friendly. We had a lot of fun shopping in here. I have been donating for at least 4 years as I believe it's a worthy cause. Yesterday I donated books and fragile items and the response left me bitter. Everyhing I donated was thrown in a bin like it was garbage to go through later. I have sent an e mail to share my discussed of this. I will look for other donation sites that help women abuse. Hope's closet thrift store was good. Very nice people. I don't like this app though it makes you put 85 characters.

Love the mission statement. But the store itself is kind of lacking. There aren't many finds for guys. In fact, I've been here twice and usually I'm the only male in the entire shop. This is interesting because I felt like I was stared at a lot, but maybe that was just me? Today, I tried donating but they don't make it very easy. I'd expect there to be a donation cart in the front of the store. Nope. I asked, the front cashier lady and she told me I'd have to pull around. She was nice, but I drove around the building and I was surprised it was a mess in the rear. Stuff everywhere, including outside. A woman approached me with a four wheeled cart to drop my donations in. I had a case of DVDs. She asked if they were CDs, and I told her "No, they are DVDs...". She then asked what I presumed to be management inside somewhere. And that lady yelled back they "Weren't taking DVDs, at this time". Why? I get maybe they aren't "hot" sellers but they were pretty hard to find children's DVDs. The lady thanked me and I was a little disgruntled I bothered wasting my time and retrieved the items in the cart to put back in my car. I just went down the road and instead donated them to St. Vincent de Paul. They take it and make it easy. Unfortunately I'll just donate to them from now on. read more

I LOVE this store! Not only do the proceeds go to a great cause (I myself am a survivor), the quality and prices are phenomenal. You have to experience "First Friday"...every month on the first Friday, the entire store's items are 100% off (come early to get a cart! Lol). Everything is nicely sorted into sections, & new items (overstocks I presume) are separated from donated items. I adore the folks who work & volunteer there...Becky, Sandy, Theresa & Henry always have a smile & a hello! It's clearly a place they enjoy being too. read more

Recently discovered this store and needless to say I will definitely be coming here frequently. The staff was supper nice and helpful and they had a lot of really great stuff I got 6 nice tops and an aroma diffuser for under $35 it was a Monday and everything was 50% off but my tops were all ame brand high end and this was a pho nominal steal I love this place read more

There is a reason I only gave 3 stars instead of 5 stars. There was a young woman in there with 2 little kids, and she was looking at artificial Christmas trees. There was one she wanted to get and as she told me, she has the money now and may not have it later. She wanted to be sure she had a tree for the kids. Continuing, she asked a blond hair worker about getting it, and the lady refused to sell it at that time. She said she was waiting to decorate it for that upcoming Fridays special sale day. That was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard at a thrift store! Oh, and they had several trees there and wouldn't sell them. Not good! This was absolutely messed up. read more

I give them four stars only because of the program they connect with. I donated a lot of new items with price tags. Nothing old. I checked everyday for over a week to see if my items were put out in the the store. Nothing! Not sure what happened to my donations after I dropped them off. New people running the store are not as nice as the previous managers either. Sorry, Looking for another place to donate. read more

I wasn't very fond of this store. I had been planning to come right when the pandemic hit & it was always closed. Now that it's open, we drove 18 minutes to come here. Annnnd it was a complete bust. I love the fact that it was a true thrift store, with vintage items but there was very very minimal items throughout the store. I wasn't greeted and the ladies looked at my daughter and I like we were crazy. I felt super out of place after walking through each isle & shifting through clothes. I give three stars because the selection was super neat, but very sparse. Unfortunately, we won't be back. read more

Went in this morning, two women were working and nobody greeted me the entire time. I picked something I wanted to purchase and nobody was to be found in the entire store. Waited at the register for 5 minutes. The two women were in the back. Ended up just leaving. read more

Manager is one if the rudest people I've ever dealt with. Brought 8 boxes of pads and 3 boxes of tampons for donation after talking to Jasmine, the donations manager, on the phone Monday, told her I would be dropping off items Wednesday but late afternoon because of my husband's chemo appointment. She said no problem, whenever was fine! Not so much... When I get there to drop off the items, the manager (NOT Jasmine) told me they ONLY accept donations 10-1, period, no exceptions. Who runs their business like this? I'm DONATING things, brand new boxes of really needed free things, to help victims of domestic violence, but your going to tell me no? Wha...? Won't be back here ever, won't bring donations here again ever. I brought my kids here years ago, told them all about how the store gave all the money they made to a women's shelter, what a great cause this is, to help so many!! Yeah well... read more

I like charities that help Domestic Violence Shelters...Items not used by their residents are sold at Hope's Closet and all proceeds from the sales are used to support the Center. Every donation--whether used at the Center or sold to benefit our programs--is used for the direct benefit of families at New Life! This review is based on the actual Thrift Store, which just opened recently. The location is just east of the 99 Cent Store center in a newer retail mall on the north side of Van Buren. They had a full rack of clothing out front for .99 cents....good bargains to be found. I'd probably bring my unwanted items here in the future, now that I know this place is here. The store itself was kinda messy and not very organized. Items were kinda overpriced for a Thrift Store. At least there were no funky thrift-store smells. I saw 2 of their trucks out front--which will drive to you to pick up your unwanted items. After I left, I noticed one of their trucks speeding way past me up Van Buren, they must had been doing at least 60 mph! Aside from speeding, the driver was driving a bit into the other lane...nice impression. Maybe they were in a hurry to get that next truckload of unwanted junk? read more

I really like this little store. It has a pretty good selection usually. Sometimes I don't find anything, but sometimes I leave with my arms full! The prices are reasonable, and there are frequent sales. I like having half off on days other than just Saturday's. I haven't met a worker here that I was not pleased with. They seem like hard workers. I also like that my money and donations go to help a good cause. I wish they still had their bathroom available for trying on clothes, but I guess people were abusing that privilege and putting clothes in the toilet(?). Too bad. read more

A bit disappointed by how I was treated when I asked where to drop my donations when I went into the store AND when I went around back to make my donation. I would think they would be a bit more polite when you are willing to give them your items without asking for anything in return, but maybe I caught them on a bad day. Hope's Closet is a great little store with something for everyone. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and valued as a customer and the store is always neat and tidy, easy to move around in. The very best part of shopping here however is who benefits from our patronage and how much it means to be a part of helping others get their lives back on track. People need each other and this organization does an excellent job of bringing folks and resources together in that way. I have found some very good deals on everything from sporting goods to toys and books, even brand new shoes, all for a very reasonable price. If you have nicer clothing, housewares, furniture etc that you are looking to donate, please consider Hope's Closet as your first stop. read more

New management is awful, the pricing and letter system is ridiculous. They used to have 1/2 price days which made the merchandise reasonable for used stuff. Now it is way over priced for second hand merchandise. Worst thing is the rudeness of the manager. I saw a recent ad for a manager, so I hope they are getting rid of the guy they had. He berated a poor senior citizen for just voicing an opinion. read more

This place is wonderful! The selection changes, not only daily, but hourly, as well. Wonderful quality in home furnishings and clothing. Floor merchandise is always clean and neat. The staff is extremely friendly and immediately treats you like family. Prices are fair and merchandise is in great condition. They will deliver for a small fee to make your large item purchases even more convenient. This place is easily addictive. You'll see the same customers over and over again. I love the way customers interact with each other because they're so excited about their finds. There's always plenty of parking. Stop by if you get a chance. You'll become a "regular" immediately. My first impression was what a cute store and I didn't feel like I was in a thrift store. I started browsing and prices were very high for used clothing. But what upset me was the staff. I tried to ask for help and she just stared at me and walked away. When I approached a second time she again turned and walked away. They should have a dressing room I think people would buy more.
