This isn't a question. It's a complaint. We are moving and down sizing our home. Today I brought clothes, TV's, surround TV system, household decorations that will not fit in our new home and dishes. The tall skinny gentleman went through each box then wheeled out a cart and told me to unload my truck. He stood beside my truck and watched me unload my truck. The lady behind me asked him are you not going to help him and he just looked at her. I could have just thrown everything away. But I thought it may do someone else some good. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANYTHING TO GOODWILL AGAIN!!!! I have heard a lot of negative things about goodwill. And now I understand. Throw your stuff away. Why help them. I visited many Goodwill stores throughout Georgia. Not always will I find something to purchase, but I always go back and try again a different day. In fact, I will visit multiple times. However, there are a few Goodwill stores. I have to check off my go-to list, and the Goodwill in Tyrone is definitely one I will not return to. The shelves are empty a lot of the times I went and what little I saw was ridiculously ovepriced. I'm sure this store works for others, but for me, it's not worth the drive to visit. read more

I made a carful of donations on 9/23/2024 at 6.10pm. The young person who came out couldn't hide his discuss at how much was in the car/SUV. He left to get a wheeled cart. I was thinking he'd also get help to unload the car since it was larger exercise equipment (that I put in the SUV myself). When he came outside again he was alone. He stood at the handle end of the cart making no move to unload the car or even help me do it. He just stood there. I'm past 60 years old. He clearly expected me to unload the items and put them on the cart myself. I was under time constraints and I did. With every item I put on the cart I got angrier and angrier. This is his job. He chose it. Yet he doesn't want to do it???? Guess what--not only did you lose any future donations from me but you lost my business in your store. Despite the name, Goodwill is not a non-profit organization but actually a for-profit store, just like any other store trying to earn money. They are not the same as the Salvation Army for example, which IS a non-profit organization that helps people. The only thing they have in common with the Salvation Army thrift shops is they operate on and accept donations. That's it. Not worth my money!!! read more

Love Love Love!! I have been passing this site for awhile while it was still in construction and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it has finally opened. I missed the grand opening by three weeks. Anywho I love this spot. Totally neat, clean and plentiful items. Staff is super duper friendly. I need to pay attention more to the color days. I purchased two purses, a book and a plant. One of the purses was half off. My girlfriend purchased the poker for a fireplace. Great items here. I will definitely be back. I also was inspired to purge my closet and house and bring some stuff in to donate. I have an old tv that no one seems to want even though it works and most definitely some clothes and other appliances. read more

Goodwill Tyrone opened Aug 31, 2017 in a brand new energy efficient building with a donation center, large parking lot, a bike rack & a lot of excited residents. The associates are very friendly & helpful. I talked to one about all the funny clothing that can be found on the racks. We both agreed that if you're creative enough you can put together a costume from the clothing at Goodwill. As you can see in the photos I've taken, it really wouldn't be that difficult. Another cool thing about Goodwill is their arrangement of clothing by color. I needed an orange shirt, so it was really easy for me to quickly find what I needed. I noticed that they have LED motion sensing lights in the dressing room. The store is very clean because it is brand new. I hope it stays that way. Also, it's super easy to find a random assortment of things that can be used for arts & crafts projects. I found lots of tennis balls that can be used for games, put on the scratchy feet of a chair, thrown in the dryer, just google it. There's an assortment of strange old electronics as well. But by far the coolest thing about Goodwill is that it's helping our environment: Here's the truth, "The simplest step we can take is to wear our clothes for longer. I visit this Goodwill store about once a month. Every time, the facility is clean & organized. I have my favorite sections to visit, where I always find something cool or useful to bring home. When my son went to college, we outfitted his dorm room with a lamp, hand vac, rug, and picture frames from the Tyrone Goodwill. I also found furniture to fill my guest bedroom! I really appreciate being able to thrift shop in an aesthetically pleasing facility that doesn't smell like someone's moldy basement. read more

I am a bargain shopper, all my friends are always amazed about all the great things I find at any Goodwill store I shop at but I must say that this location is by far my favorite location for several reasons.... It is ALWAYS clean. They have nice things at this location and of all the Goodwill stores that I have been to (which are are a lot) this one has the nicest employees of all. We recently needed to clean out some stuff and looked for a place that was open later at night. We dropped off our items around 7pm and the associates were so prompt, so kind, and such a joy to be around. What a truly wonderful place to go! Would definitely love to shop there once I get the unused stuff moved out. read more

This is a big, modern and very clean Goodwill. The neatest Goodwill I have ever been in. We stopped here while traveling.

I'm not writing about the Goodwill store but the dropoff location across Hwy 74 in the Publix shopping center in Tyrone. I've visited this dropoff location many times and I just wanted to say that the young fellow who works there is always so positive and happy. He always says - Welcome to Goodwill. Thank you for your donation to Goodwill and something about providing jobs through donations. Kinda reminds me of the "Welcome to Good Burger Home of the Good Burger" but I love it and he's so helpful with unloading my car. Keep him! He makes me happy I donated. read more
