We got there as they opened so they were still in the midst of baking their pies, but we didn't mind walking around the Olcott shops to pass the time. A pie or pasty with a toffee pudding will fill you up. I had the cheese and onion pasty and a sticky toffee pudding and both were very tasty! I came with a friend who ordered 4 pies (she ate the chicken curry pie there and took the rest home). Worth the trip from Amherst.

I'm guessing they have some new employees that are still learning the ropes. I would visit again... Maybe later in the season. To note, there is an extra fee when using a credit card. After looking over the food menu, it didn't take long to reach the ordering window and place our dinner order. The Hojack accepts cash and credit cards, but there's an additional processing fee with credit cards. Mom secured a table for us while I stood by the other window, waiting for our order number to be called. There were several tables and they're all covered so that's very nice! For Mother's Day 2026, it was cool and windy, so we didn't stay once we finished eating. For dinner, mom ordered a turkey burger, no mayonnaise (this comes topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise), I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise), and we split a basket of fries. It took about 15 minutes before our food was ready, but everything was made-to-order, so it all was incredibly fresh and hot! Even though the food is basic, The Hojack does a great job! We were sad to see they weren't serving their ice cream nachos, so we decided to go elsewhere for dessert (plus we were freezing at this point haha).
