Real sausages and black pudding, english bacon! a good solid breakfast which my wife has come to recognize as what I call 'porky goodness.' Then for dinner the various types of meat pies and sausage rolls. they look small but they are hearty and add on a veg or just chips and it's a good meal. But the absolute, cannot do without are the pork pies. Glorious perfection. I was recently at a get together with some friends and one brought some pork pies from his local butcher. I'd brought parkers. The other guy's stuff was fine, if you'd never had parkers but he didn't trust the meat. he had to add some herbs and while fine it just was a little bit off true. A bubble off plumb. Parkers know what they are doing the crust just right and the pork, wonderful. It was agreed by all who tried them that these were the best of the day. Good, reliable, English standards, you can't do better.

The crumpets. Were. Perfect! Exactly like the ones my grandmother served 60 years ago. Perfect texture and crunch with all the little bubble holes to absorb butter and jam. A cup of English Breakfast tea and I was right back at my Nana's breakfast table! In addition to the crumpets, we ordered beef & onion pies, steak pies, chicken korma pies and slices; even Cornish pasties. They were all delicious and just as I imagined they would be. The pies had buttery, flakey puff pastry crusts with rich, flavorful fillings. (if I have any complaint at all, it's that the heating instructions are quite small and sometimes hard to read, especially if the ink blurs due to moisture when frozen.) As soon as I ordered, I realized, no one would be home on the dates it would arrive so I sent Parker's an email. Within an hour or two, I heard back from Jessica who had already rescheduled our shipment for a week later as requested. The package arrived right on time in perfect condition, packed in dry chill packs. Great customer service! You have to try these folks. We will be placing a new order soon.

Service from the bartender was great. He offered up some suggestions, which I needed because they have a large menu loaded with so many appetizing and amazing looking options. I started with their potstickers... They came out with a hard, fried shell and the dipping sauce went nicely with them. Enough to share, or even enough to enjoy and still have room for an entrée. My main dish was their Chicken & Waffle. This isn't some ordinary chicken and waffle, it's definitely an amped up version, made with unique and interesting ingredients, culminating in great flavors! The chicken was so large and very tender - it was amazing! The bacon and sauce on top went with it nicely, and the chive waffle was great with it! Each bite was definitely amazing! This was a great experience, I can see why they have so many reviews and such high stars, those are well-deserved stars!! Definitely recommend stopping in here!

After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return! PS: loved seeing the sign for Upper Canada Brewing company! In 1988, I visited them with my college partner as we did a college paper on microbrewers! At that time, they were one of a few. We also had visited Great Lakes brewing in CLE! The microbrewing industry exploded shortly there after! Was a great personal walk down memory lane for my college days!! While Upper Canada was sold, was just excellent to see an old sign!

We didn't reserve in advance (which I now highly recommend). The wait was about an hour, but we passed the time at the nearby Churchill with a pre‑drink, and they texted us when our table was ready. The Sunday night jazz band was fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly, and they work together as a team to take care of you. Amber was our primary server - she was great. Service for both drinks and food was quick, and the cozy Irish pub atmosphere made it even better. Definitely try to reserve ahead on the website if you can. If not, just plan to relax at one of the nearby pubs until your table is ready.

As for the food, my partner got the pulled pork sandwich with fries and I got the lemon pepper chicken wings. The chicken wings were good but, they put too much lemon pepper seasoning that I couldn't finish it. The portion sizes were good though and we left full. The vibe of the place was really nice. I got into Canada early, so I decided to go have some lunch. I walked in, and immediately felt like I just came home. The bartender, this lovely young woman named Onya, came up and took my order. I ordered a black and tan. She suggested I go for the smooth black and tan which I did. It did not disappoint! I may have to have my black and tans like this for the rest of my life. I ordered a cup of the buffalo wing chowder, and she said it's one of the most popular items on the menu. I asked her to bring that out first before my Classic Caesar salad. Let me tell you something about that soup. Now I'm not a big soup guy, but I do like chowders, and this was the absolute best I've ever had. Had. I've had clam chowder all over the United States but man this one absolutely nails it! It has that buffalo wing flavor which just perfect and not overpowering. I should have gotten the bigger bowl of it instead of the cup. Now let's talk about the Caesar salad. It was absolutely perfect! It had the perfect ratio of dressing to lettuce, not just poured on top like most places but actually tossed. Onya said she did it herself, so massive kudos for her going above and beyond the call of duty. Overall this meal hit on all cylinders and did not disappoint. I will definitely be back here a couple more times while I'm in Canada. If you need to find me, you know where to find me. The bottom line? You really need to get the buffalo chicken wing chowder. It is absolutely an amazing soup and will change your life. And if you like a good classic Caesar, you can't do better than this one!
