Mammy's has been on my radar for a while, especially since I have been trying to find British food in the area since I moved to Buffalo. They have a variety of pies, are very interactive on Facebook, and their food is also decently priced. As it was a nice and sunny Saturday, we decided to take the drive to Olcott. They had a variety of pies, of which we went for the Steak and Ale pie. I'm a fan of Bangers and Mash, which was my initial reason for finding a British establishment which had it. The seating is very limited and the kitchen is minimal. Even though they have very limited working room, they do a decent job with what they have. Also, the prices are appropriate for what they offer, the area they are in, and in current times. The Steak and Ale pie combo was $13.50 and included a steak with ale-seasoned gravy, mash potatoes, and mashed peas. The bangers and mash combo was $13.50 and included two bangers (sausages) and mash potatoes. The food is served in paper baskets which one normally gets popcorn or hot dogs in, and they come with a can of soda (not a fountain drink). The pies might look small, but they are filling. I would consider going back simply for the pies, once I can make up my mind on whether I would like another Steak & Ale, a Chicken Curry pie, a Steak & Kidney pie, or maybe one of their other dishes. As they only have three picnic tables to sit at, I'd suggest taking the food to the water front and enjoying it by yourself or with a loved one. But definitely visit and try something new. :) read more
