Waitstaff were good, food not so much! The pulled pork sandwich was not pulled pork but big pieces of pork on a bun with BBQ sauce over it, the pieces were tuff to bite through. The new owner needs to spend a little time and thread the pork like you're supposed to. If I wanted a pork chop on a bun I could have had my wife make me one and it would have been more tender than this sandwich. P.S. if you opt for the pulled pork sandwich make sure you schedule a colonoscopy a couple days after because you will be prepped for it after eating it. This is a hot spot in town, so it can be really busy! They are a bit short on staff, so we tried to be patient. We had a giant pretzel, a Korean beef bowl, the artichoke dip, and the beet citrus salad. The food came quickly, and the pretzel was super good, but GIANT. The artichoke dip was okay, but the dip itself was a little chilly, and could have been warmed throughout. It seemed microwaved. The Korean beef bowl was delicious and went well with the citrus beef salad. The oranges were okay, but they have seeds in them, so look out for those! I also had an amazing drink, the Lady Long Island Iced Tea. Our server was great, but we did wait about 20-25 minutes for my second drink and never received waters we ordered, after 45 minutes. The table next to us also didn't receive their drinks until after 25 or more minutes. We had asked a couple of times, and we still paid for the drink, which I had to down pretty quickly since it took so long to arrive. The bartender wouldn't even make eye contact and did not acknowledge our presence. It was like we were invisible. We waited over ten minutes. We had a waiter that was very new to the scene. He didn't ask how we would like our meats cooked and forgot to ask if we wanted dessert. However, he was very polite and he did definitely try hard to remember everything he's supposed to do. My wife's and my first visit to Green Lake, and we stopped here our 2nd night! We were greeted warmly by the bar staff when we entered. We were shown to a booth and our hostess said our waitress would be with us shortly! 1 minute later came our waitress, Shania (Gertrude), she had such a friendly and outgoing personality, my wife and I felt right at home! For a small town restaurant, Goose Blind is not a bad option. However, nothing really stood out there for me. The service was good, and the atmosphere was very lively for a Saturday night. The food was pretty average, nothing was bad, but nothing was amazing either. I had the chicken wrap, which was good. The fried pickles and spinach and artichoke dip were good, but pretty small portions for sharing with a group. My Moscow mule was pretty good too. There aren't many options for eating out in Green Lake and given the rural area, you can't expect this place to be a 5-star restaurant. The food is hit or miss but the prices are so cheap that it almost balances out. The fried pickles were surprising yummy but the artichoke dip wasn't large enough for sharing or good enough to even bother. The burgers, however, were amazing. Service was great as well. I had to write this review because this place has really tanked. It used to have a great homey, welcoming feeling. The food was made with more thought and maybe chosen more thoughtfully. It was more clean and well maintained, now it just seems very dirty, sticky, old, and ick. The seats are busted through in the booths, causing you to fall through. The service is terrible. I think it's outsourced to foreign exchange programs because the service is not normal and it seems like no one here understands English. They also seem like teenagers. There's food on tables and floors, it used to be fun and played fun music and have fun events. Now if you go on the weekend many times they're just blaring sports games awarding rather than music.m for people to listen to. The food is all clearly like Cisco drop in the fryer frozen bag food. Met a friend there and have not been there since new owner took over. House wine was fine and priced appropriately. Ordered two "share" appetizers. First was chicken satay. Very dry and pretty much flavorless with the exception of some "hot" seasoning dispensed over it. Second was artichoke dip with inferior quality chips. Lots of chips. Less than 1 cup of dip. Again, the dip was so bland it was reported to the waitress. She will tell the kitchen. The waitress when we initially sat down asked twice if we were ready to order. No we weren't. She seemed ticked off the second time we told her so we felt that we needed to order even though there were no other customers eating. The web site says "new menu coming." That's a good thing. Absolutely brutal, they should be embarrassed at the product they are putting out. Took a very long time for the food to come to the table considering there were only 4 other people there. Once the food finally arrived a pizza was dropped on top of the head of one of the customers. Pizzas taste and look like ones you get out of the freezer aisle. One burger was cooked well done and the other was rare. Fries way over salted. Playing rap music loudly over speakers in the dining room and had random pictures everywhere giving it a weird ambiance. Went in between lunch and dinner to receive wonderful service from Juan who recommended a fun flight of beer for my Dad which he thoroughly enjoyed which included the local Spotted Cow, which turned out to be his favorite. We enjoyed bbq chicken fritters, vegetarian pizza, Havana melt wrap with cheese curds and I drank a red ale. Juan enriched our enjoyable lunch with his friendly enthusiasm and engaging conversation. Great food at reasonable prices! Their Bloody Mary is fantastic!!!!! We wanted the recipe for their mix and asked the bartender if he'd share it. (He said he'd have to ask the other bartender if that was ok....we never got an answer....I'm so sad! I want to make one when I get home today.). Guess we'll have to go back there someday to enjoy another one! Bartenders & servers were all super friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere for a casual date night. We played Shake of the Day at the bar and won a free drink, so that was fun! We ordered the Blind Rolls for an appetizer (Yummy!); I had the smothered nachos as an entree, and it was plenty for me. Only suggestion would be to offer jalapeños as an add-on for those of us who love things spicy! My guy got the Hangover Burger with tater tots as a side ($1.00 extra) and LOVED it.
