The dishes are generous, tasty, and the staff is efficient and excellent. The furniture is very comfortable and everything is high quality. The decor tries to be fancy but is very stereotypically "cowboys and Indians," it made me uncomfortable to eat facing colonial pictures of Indigenous people who were murdered by the celebrated US cavalry. The menu is not realistically American, but a good combination of actual tex mex and imagined Texas cuisine. Great variety of drinks. Texas Steakout always delivers on great service and food on every visit iv had. If I have an evening to spend in Limerick to eat out I will always choose here and it is always a great treat! The waiters and waitresses are always so friendly and efficient and it never feels like there is a busy city outside when you are dining in here. We have come here for Valentines day, Birthdays, Anniversary dinners and we will continue to choose here for special occasions when in Limerick. Great experience every time! read more

I had made a booking on Monday 27th December 2021 for a table of 4 , for Tuesday the 28th and when I arrived at the door there was a man who with the carry on of himself i presumed was the owner of the property . He full on vulgarly approached us and told us we are not aloud in . I told him i have a booking, he didn't ask me my name ! What he said was a crowd of (YE where in here last night and where not putting up with YE tonight) !!!! Left us in utter devastation and totally humiliated by the stares of the other customers in que. I have not been in that restaurant in six months and I have been coming there for around 15 years and never had a problem . I was disgusted at behaviour of this person if you could call him that because they way we were treated was inhuman., if this is not racial discrimination I don't know what is as I am A member of the travelling community and some members of the travelling community must've been there the night before (just to point out it wasn't any of any one that I might know or any member of the group I had booked with ) why was I refused entry!!, because I am a TRAVELER that's the only reason that I was refused, it ruined my night, but I will never go there again as I am a person I have rights just like any other human being and I don't respect ,,,discrimination ,, at its best, Texas steakhouse. It's a decent spot for a lunch but I've never had anything that really jumps out at me to comment on here, and since I'm cooped up in an office all day, it's not really my idea of a nice break to be underground. After looking at the menu in the window and seeing some good options we each liked we made our way inside. The decor is pretty spot on with a Texas theme (we're from the States). Upon ordering, we were informed one of our main dishes was "no longer being served as we're making changes to the menu".. that's something to look out for because the menu on the website and the one posted outside in the window does not reflect the menu at the table. The appetizer selection is great, after much back and forth we went with the chicken nachos and brie cheese appetizers. Both came out exceptionally quick and were equally delicious. For the main course I has the Irish prime rib, my gf who was informed the Honey & Mustard Chicken was no longer available settled for the spicy chicken wing appetizer and a side of onion rings as her dinner. My steak was fair, ribeye is always my go to cut so I've had the best of the best and the bottom of the barrel .. I would rate this one in the middle. The mash potatoes and onion rings were good, though the rings are breaded fluffy not crispy. Now for my gf, she is a chicken wing aficionado and she rates her wings as the worst she's ever had, so of course she forced me to try them. They were cold and possibly undercooked although the sauce on them wasn't bad.. she ate a few and left the rest. As for the dessert there were some great options but we opted out. read more

What a joke. First of all worst service I ever had in a resturant. 15 min for someone to show up to the table. Second forgot the appetizer. Third never checked back on us. Really, both me and girlfriend run area restaurants and we eat out a lot but never seen anything close to this. Let's get to the food side of this. If you consider this place a steak house. I expect the cheif to know how to cook temperature on the steak. I ask for medium and got a well done. My girlfriend asked for a rare and got a medium. The wine list is so limited and needs some updates. Avoid this place. There is a lot of other great choices in the area. read more

Service was too fast. By the time I got a drink menu our food already arrived. My date didn't like her chicken salad - the bbq sauce was terrible. My burger was overcooked and fries were average. 2 stars because place was clean. read more

We went on a Saturday evening, and our table of five was seated with no reservation very promptly. They offer a very good value 3 course meal for €30, which our party all dined on. Small supplements for the likes of Fillet / T-bone, but their was a Ribeye there with no supplement. First thing, the steaks were superb, perfectly cooked to order, and the choice of sides were top notch. My t-bone was delicious. The starters were all good too. We finished with nice desserts also. Couple of foibles for me, 1: The sides for the fajitas were put on the table before the starters arrived? 2: The premium being charged on the craft beer selection, a locally made beer was €6.90 vs less than €5 for a mainstream product Local restaurants can't have it both ways, supporting local food suppliers, but at the same time applying a mad premium to a local beer is counter intuitive. As a result our table elected to share a couple of bottles of wine. Overall though it was an enjoyable experience, and have rated as a 3, due to the points above. read more

This place smelled funky the minute we walked in. Us girls wanted to leave but the husbands were hungry. We ordered Cosmopolitans..... tasted like cranberry juice and a little syrup SO BAD we did even finish them. Then I had to go to the restroom and that's where the smell was coming from... omg the smell of sewage so strong I couldn't breath through my nose. Well needless to say I wanted to puke the rest of the night but somehow I made it through. The Texas Steakout has been a staple in Limerick for decades now and with good reason. The food is generally consistent and there's something on the menu for everyone. First recent visit I had a vegetable stir fry which was nice. Not amazing but nice. I also had the chicken, ham and mushroom vol-au-vent and it was good, a little too much sauce which is a thing for me. Next time I went back I opted for the Chicken Provencale. At €16 I thought it was overpriced and it tasted like it had been microwaved. It was boiling hot and took forever to cool down. It's hard to discern flavours with a burned tongue. Probably should have said something. More good things: the staff are great, the decor as always is interesting and the lunch/dinner/value/a la carte menus have a variety of dishes. Some not so good things: They play the same music over and over again. It starts to grate after a while so I don't know how the staff feel! Some of dishes are overpriced and a let down. read more

I'm working in the area and we walked past this place earlier in the week. Asked people about it and they said it was great however our landlord said it was very 'overrated'. We thought we'd give it a go anyways. Well . . . I'm glad I listened to everyone else and not my landlord. This place is fantastic, the staff are friendly, quick to assist you and very helpful / knowledgable when it comes to the menu. We both had the 3 course weekend special. We had the "Texan Variety Plate" starter. This has to be the best starter I've ever had in a steakhouse, lots of flavour and well presented. Fillet steak for main which was second to none and fudge cake for dessert. I'll definitely be going there 1 or 5 more times before I leave Limerick for sure! read more

As a vegetarian, I wouldn't have thought Texas Steakout would have great vegetarian options, however I was quite surprised with what they had to offer. I've been there a number of times now, trying out each vegetarian dish. They have enchiladas, fajitas, veg stir fry and veg curries. Not a whole lot of options but the quality makes up for this! My recent meal at the Steakout began with Brie wedges as my appetiser. They were wonderful, the Brie slightly coated in fine crumbs with a sweet chilli sauce. Shortly followed by my main, Vegetarian Fajitas, served with sour cream, salsa and guacamole and a portion of rice. The veg was served on a hot grill dish and were cooked perfectly in a slightly spiced seasoning. I was given another plate which had 3 tortillas, small salad and a hand full of tortilla chips and a dish for the rice. The combination of everything in the tortilla wrap was delicious. The portion was perfect, any bigger and it would have been too much! I've tried the enchiladas before and must say they are really, really good :D 3 tortillas packed with tasty veg with melted cheese over them served with a small salad and some tortilla chips. I really enjoyed them. Staff in there are very friendly and professional and make you feel welcomed! They aren't afraid to have a joke or two with you also :) The photos I have are of midway through my meal as I forgot to take some at the start due to my eager! I would definitely recommend this place if you are a vegetarian and are looking for a place to have a meal with a non vegi :) or in a group situation where there are! From USA, this was not close to Texas food. Mexican food was ridiculously spicy. Alcoholic drinks were good though.

They have a great lunch menu if you are around... Their burgers are top notch!

I reserve my yelp reviews to highlight exceptional service. Unfortunately this is not one of those reviews. I feel it is my USA born obligation to shoot straight from the hip. (See what I did there? Anywho...) Living in Los Angeles we understand the roulette of stepping out sans a reservation to a "hot spot". It's a waiting game. Our lack of preparation mandates the wait should we hope to be accommodated. But let me tell you this we've visited many a "steakhouses" Del Frisco (Dallas), Mastros (Beverly Hills), The Met (Seattle), Morton's....Fleming's....The Palm (pick a coast), Keen (nyc) you get my point. The level of dismissive nature displayed to my husband was unlike any thing I've seen. Perhaps the maitre d thought this was the Texas way. I assure you sir it is not. Perhaps he was overwhelmed at the amount of interest looming in the waiting room. To this I encourage management to coach staff on managing through the emotional tax of the busy dinner rush. We were taken here by family while visiting and a large group got there around 3.00pm. The restaurant was virtually empty. The food arrived very quickly - too quickly really. We've been in Ireland for 10 days now enjoying the local food but have been looking forward to a good steak. This is not the place to get it. First of all the waitstaff are just kids not professional servers. We felt rushed from the minute we sat down. They hadn't a clue what they were doing. The food was mediocre at best. My medium rare steak was medium well. If you cannot cook a steak to temperature you shouldn't use steak in your name. The ladies room had no towels to dry your hands. And when we were done we couldn't get out because no one would bring us a check. Stay away :-( read more

We had dinner here during our visit to Limerick. The food exceeded our expectations. The Angus fillet steak was out of this world and grilled to perfection. They had three steak sauce choices and everyone was awesome. I wish they had more options with sauces. The servers are cheerful and attentive. We will surely be back. read more

My friend and I dined here on a Friday evening. As Texas natives, we were offended and disappointed. While the food is average Limerick cuisine, it is NOTHING like Texas food or Mexican food. We ordered vegetarian fajitas and chicken fajitas, with sides of fries and a baked potato. These items were served with guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. Salsa is simple to make. Yet, the Texas Steakout failed to produce an edible salsa. Immediately, we could tell it was nothing like good salsa. It was watery and too chunky. The overwhelming smell and flavor was that of cucumber. Cucumbers don't belong in salsa! There was no heat, no spice, none of the signature salsa flavor. This first taste began our journey of edible disappointment at the Texas Steakout. The guacamole was aesthetically displeasing. The gray spots clearly indicated it wasn't fresh, and its flavors were unmixed. A bite consisted of avocado or onion. Never did I taste a mixture of the two, or perhaps some cilantro or even salt and pepper. At first glance, the chicken fajitas were exciting. They were on a hot plate! They must be fresh and hot. However, they were not sizzling. They were not well-charred. They didn't even smell fragrant. The presentation of the fajita was lackluster. The vegetables were not chopped consistently, so they were not equally charred. All were overcooked, causing the veggies to be mushy. In the overcooking, the vegetables lost all flavor. The chicken was not crisped or well-cooked. They were too pale, and they were flavored wtih what tasted like a prepackaged spice-packet. Taste-wise, it was reminiscent of salami. I so looked forward to placing a crispy piece of chicken on a fresh tortilla. My hopes were dashed. The vegetables for the vegetarian fajitas lacked seasoning. Plus, the vegetables chosen were not the veggies that belong in a fajita. Snap peas, broccoli, and cauliflower? Those are not found in a Tex Mex fajita! The French fries tasted as if they were coated with lard. What a gross taste. Baked potato and sticky toffee pudding were average, but nothing to write home about. Apple pie was a misnomer. It didn't have a pie crust, chunks of apple, or the cinnamon. As an apple dessert, it was relatively yummy. It just wasn't apple pie. Our service was hurried. Our waitress did not check on us, and we had to strain to catch her attention when we wanted our check. She was not rude at all, but she wasn't conscientious of us. If the food had been good, the service would've been tolerable. I would not recommend Texas Steakout. As a Texan, I found it inauthentic and sad. Limerick citizens deserve to know what Texas food is. As a human, I found it totally unappetizing. Call yourself whatever you want, but don't associate the beautiful name of Texas with such depressing dining. read more

I went into this restaurant being optimistic. At first it appeared that things were going to be ok. Then the waiter showed up. As it is popular in most restaurants to order from a "bundled" portion of the menu, that is what I choose to do here. Which typically gives you a starter, main course and desert for a set price. Upon requesting this and then being asked by the waiter which steak i wanted I got confused. According to the menu the steak option was just an 8 oz sirloin. He threw at us a T-bone option, a filet option and a 10 oz. steak option. I said I just wanted the standard option on the menu and asked very plainly if that was the 8 oz as the menu stated. He proceeded to say something and was not clear but I believe I ended up with a 10 option. The steak as it was cooked properly was nothing to brag about as it was under seasoned and did not have much flavor. Also the starter of the "ribs" I was told were beef ribs and when I got them the were very obviously pork ribs. Which was not a huge deal but the sauce was not good at all. I feel like the waiter was very "shaddy" and when we paid the bill to the manager she acted as if she was going to correct it but then added a "surcharge" that basically reversed what she did to make it correct. I cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone. read more
