Was quoted over $8,000 to finish a townhouse garage - Mudding, sanding and paint. Every other contractor I contacted and came and looked quoted more than half this at $3000-$4000. Went with the 4k option and it turned out fantastic. I could tell right away that I was getting taken for a ride by these guys - showing everything that you would expect shady contractors to do: pointing out all the flaws in the newly constructed and taped drywall, to all the extra work that needed to be done. I was left extremely peeved off that a company would over quote someone so much. Poor business ethics. The company I used has already made $24,000 so far of this complex from quoting people more reasonable prices and then the owners telling their neighbours which drywall people to use.
