Knowing she has my back and won't ask me to do more than I'm able at the moment is a huge benefit. I've worked with other trainers in the past and they have not shown half the level of care and professionalism that you get with Ann Pelino. If you want a private, custom experience, this is the place to go.

I've been working with Ann for over a year…read more Ann is a fantastic personal trainer. I've had continuous a personal trainer between 2003-2013, took a break between 2013 and 2015, but started working out with Ann in Nov 2015. In that steady decade of trainers, I worked with 6 trainers in that timeframe. Ann is among the best. To me the sign of a great personal trainer is their ability to adapt. An excellent personal trainer will still ensure you have a great work out if you sprain your ankle, have a pain point, or are bored with the same old activities. Injury: I recently sprained my ankle running; while we haven't been able to burn as many calories or get intense cardio in while I heal, we are still pushing those weights and keeping my upper body & core active. Pain Point: When I do have a pain point, I explain it to Ann and she 9 times out of 10 has a recommendation that helps to alleviate the issue almost immediately: for example, I occasionally have pain in my right knee - Ann will recommend specific foam rolling and the pain is gone. To me this demonstrates knowledge & expertise about the body that one can only get with a trainer who has been working with clients for a while. Variety: Given I've worked out with trainers for over a decade, I thought I had seen most workouts, activities, sets/reps, combination, etc. I had gotten to the point where trainers and the industry were simply renaming certain moves and I recognized it. I don't know where Ann gets her library of activities, but she will bring out a new move that combines actions and my brain LOVES the challenge! I just have to tell her I'd like to "change it up" and she instantly has us doing new moves. Ann helps keep me motivated; she often will text me just to make sure I get the workouts between sessions we discussed. We thoughtfully discuss her recommendations for working out between sessions. She always asks about my nutrition and has suggestions that help. I'm losing weight, but what's better I FEEL healthy. I'm so much more active again. I've started working out twice a day. I am able to run around before and after working out, taking care of chores with far more energy... the biggest thing is a return to a more active lifestyle: enjoying my passion for hiking and doing 1K foot mountains in a morning with friends and now I'm running 5Ks - considering a 10K & 1/2 marathon in 2017. A lot of that is my personal motivation, but Ann HELPS me and SUPPORTS me. I've been a client since November 2015 and I will continue being a client. I see her a minimum of twice a week.

I worried that perhaps the "therapist" just had an off day. Then it hit me. Who's going to worry about new customers coming here and shelling out $150 for an hour's worth of mediocre tepid substandard whatever this was? I will. What about my endless long work hours that would shock most people, coming to this place for a decent massage to relieve the bad body effects of extreme overwork but walking out with zero effect? I'll worry. Not one knot found, much less kneaded out. Zero reflexology. Faking it over and over. She started off telling me - not asking me, but telling that she doesn't talk "because she listens to the body." Guess her hands were deaf. I've gotten massages for decades here in the U.S. as well as other free countries. This wasn't just a below average massage - the only massage worse than this was a masseuse in her 70's down South that after just running her hands tepidly over my skin here and there, she left after she tried selling me a Bible. They're so charming down there I couldn't get mad. And I had never returned to Bennesere until today. My prior visit, I was subjugated and subjected to -and I'm not kidding you: an hour of unwanted Russian propaganda talking points. You think I'm kidding? I'm not. That massage wasn't great either and I wasn't buying "Ukraine had it coming". So i struggled tonight with whether or not I should just write privately to them but I don't want a third wasted hour offered. It's clear they don't hire quality masseuses. It's clear they don't vet or train these people. And for $150, I don't just expect competence: I deserve it. Never again.

I really appreciated the detailed attention she gave to my head, neck, shoulder, jaw, and back, and would highly recommend her to fellow headache/migraine sufferers. Easy and friendly process checking in/out with Lori and the spa itself is modern, clean, and a holistic vibe. I will definitely be back!

I looked for a Yoga Center for years after mine suddenly closed in the city. None compared until I found Foundations Yoga in Madison. Sandy the owner is kind, compassionate and is always looking of ways to improve our practice and to assist us in any way she can. I have neck and back issues and always feel 100% better when I leave there and look forward to my next class. All the instructors are caring. Our community is unique, we are a caring and supportive group we check on eachother and we laugh alot. Take a class there and you will feel the magic of the place. I am so glad I found Foundations. The boutique is well stocked with everything a yogi needs. The new space is absolutely beautiful. Jean S.

They offer a limited sampling of basic yoga classes and if your take the ones by the same teacher they are exactly the same, over and over with very little imagination and very little difference and no interest to extend the students abilities in yoga or proper alignment in postures. After several weeks of classes not one realignment or adjustment in posture was offered. No direction was offered whether the posture was right or wrong. Maybe after much practice the shop will improve otherwise this is not worth the money or time right now. With so many wonderful yoga studios and talented yoga instructors in the area just try another one and find the right one for you.
