We were looking at a few different towns, but I'm glad we wound up in Summit because I love going to this gym. Pros (which are significant): - Like a typical Equinox, it's large, clean, and well-maintained, with all the usual amenities (including the chilled, eucalyptus-scented towels). They wipe down the mats well in between classes. - It's less crowded than the Manhattan locations I used to frequent. It's unusual to have to wait for equipment or a shower, etc. - The classes are great--and, honestly, the main reason to join Equinox (because if you need just a place to work out, there are cheaper options). I take practically everything (except spinning), and my favorite instructors include Kelsey, Michelle, and Jennifer. (John T. is also very good, but unlike the others, I think he still doesn't know my name, even though I've been doing his classes for years.) Renee does an excellent job overseeing the group-fitness program. - I haven't done much personal training here (it's expensive), but I did have a few good sessions with Marcus (and a friend of mine has been working happily with him for years now). - The Kids Club is a wonderful resource for parents. It's so nice to work out while someone watches your kids. It's $20 for two hours, but that's a bargain given the going rate for babysitting in Summit. - A while back, I complained about the lack of a juice/snack bar. Now they have one, courtesy of Essex Squeeze--and it's great! - I also previously mentioned the lack of built-in combination locks. Now they have them. Possible improvements (some admittedly minor, some not realistic): - I wish they had a larger stretching area or additional stretching areas; the one area they do have can get crowded. - They should check the treadmills more regularly to make sure they're in good working order; too frequently you'll encounter one that wobbles a little or makes weird noises. - A larger pool, heated to a higher temperature, would be nice. - The men's bathroom could use upgrading. There are only two stalls and two urinals. I wish the stall doors were the kind that went down to the floor and indicated whether the stall was occupied. They could also be cleaned more frequently. - I also wish they had some private all-gender bathrooms (like certain other Equinoxes). - Like every Equinox, they need to upgrade their toilet paper (Charmin Ultra Strong is the way to go). - I miss the old Kiehl's products. The Grown Alchemist cleanser doesn't lather or rinse off well, and its lotion doesn't get absorbed easily. (But replacing Kiehl's with Grown Alchemist was a company-wide decision.)

Locker rooms are quite small and filtration system can be improved for the drinking water. It is not as cold and does have a funny after taste. Wish they offered some outdoor benches to sit outside to enjoy a smoothie from the juice bar.

A few of my girlfriends tried the BSK location, then some of my daughter's friends moms wanted to try as well. We came 15mins before class (as advised) so we can get a tour of place and how things run before taking class. They have bathrooms (with a shower) coat racks and lockers to place your belongings while in class. The staff and coaches were very friendly! We've had the pleasure of taking almost all the coaches and every class is different, every coach style is unique but they give you the individualized attention and motivation you need during class. The first class was an intense workout but I ended up taking advantage of their first month $99 promotion and plan on continuing. I love the way I feel especially after each class knowing that I was able to accomplish it, from the "assault" bike to the ski mill, ski erg to the erg rowing machine. I live for the community - the camaraderie feel. It gives me the Orange Theory meets CrossFit vibe. 100% give it a try, you will feel as if they rocked your world after the class but I can guarantee you- you will be back. I like the new gym!…read more So I came here because my gym in Clark closed unfortunately and I decided to see what the new gym in Springfield was looking like. The setup is pretty much the same type of set up as every other gym- the only difference is that the main floor is upstairs while the studio floor and swimming pool is located on the lower floor when you walk in along with the locker rooms. When I got upstairs, there was all types of equipment some new- others the same. The gym itself wasn't a lot of people since I came somewhat late. However, the basketball court was pretty live. The cardio machines are facing the windows so it's a pretty nice touch to look out the windows during the day while you are getting your workout on. There is plenty of parking outside- which is great because this gym seem like it could get pretty packed. The only "issue" is that this gym is located on Route 22 which could be a gift and a curse depending on the time of day you go and traffic. Overall, beautiful gym, friendly staff- I would come back!

Needless to say, he couldn't find our appointments. He managed to squeeze us in, apparently by giving us some other woman's timeslot bc she showed up pitching a fit during our sprays. We asked where to go for the service. And instead of going behind reception to the salon rooms, we were sent back out the door to the salon, up a few flights of stairs inside an old apartment building. When we got to the piles of black garbage bags stacked in the hallway, the door to the spray room was to the right. There's a tiny, shabby waiting room, if you can call it that, and a janky storage room/janitor closet. Plus, the woman getting sprayed had left her stuff all over the one chair, open handbag and everything. The tan itself didn't really look like much, except on my face, which was really dark. But everywhere else you couldn't really notice it. So, nope. Would not recommend. PS: If this review convinces you to go here, be prepared to get totally nay-nay except for disposable paper undies.

Not only was she super personable, but she also really cared about making sure my eyebrows were moving in the direction I was trying to go. She took the time to talk through different shapes with me -- it turns out I like the straight shape look -- and showed me how I could get there with a growth encouragement product at home. Rosana showed such incredible expertise too, drawing out the symmetrical lines I should strive for to achieve the look I wanted. I absolutely appreciated the time she took to make my appointment successful. They have good covid measures in place too right now, with a temperature check at the door, a big jug of hand sanitizer on the front desk, and masks required all around. I'd be happy to go back to see Rosana again.

I am also so happy that Wheeler park welcomes everyone from all over NJ (and elsewhere). Coming from out of the county will cost you a bit more, but not much. If you live outside of Union County it is $4.00 for kids ($2.00 in county) and $6.00 for adults ($3.00 in county). This splash pad has every water feature a kid could ever need - from bigger twisty water slides, to a small dragon water slide. Also, water guns that you can shoot each other with, a pirate boat, water shooting up from the ground, and much more. My kids spent a little over 2 hours here and had an absolute blast. We've been here about 3 times and it never disappoints. Just be sure to bring some sort of shade covering. There isn't much cover at the splash pad so we usually bring our small beach tent with us. There is also a dry playground in the splash pad gated area where kids can play too. They have staff who help keep the kids safe and to make sure everyone goes down the water slides safe and sound. I highly recommend Wheeler Spray Park on a hot summer day.

Ditto to all the previous reviews. Good waxing places are hard to come by and these are the rare places where everything is perfect. Melissa is quick for those who want to get eyebrow waxing done during business hours, 15 minutes max. She does facials too. Her waxing was painless and did not aggravate (especially with my sensitive skin, this is a godsend), and she was an expert in shaping them nicely. The atmosphere was just amazing, i felt like i was in a retreat spa, very clean and comfortable, with nice relaxing music and a beautiful lounge area, perfect to de-stress. Will definitely go again, you should too!! I went back again! I was so impressed with my brow waxing experience here yesterday with Melissa that i booked a 60 minute swedish massage for this morning. I am sitting in their paradise of a lounge area sipping on a complimentary organic tea having had the most serene massage experience ever. It was the perfect balance of pressure on my muscles, i have been struggling with headaches caused by long hours in front of my desktop. This is my 4th massage in the Summit area in less than 2 months and this was by far the best! Lori has done more in 60 minutes of heavenly massage than the others combined! I cant recommend Lori or Benessere or Melissa enough. They were all amazing. Key attractions; 1. private parking, free 2. The Spa looks amazing, High end ambiance, ultra clean, as soon as you enter this beautiful building the smell is gorgeous, the music is relaxing and sets the tone and mood for pampering. 3. I was so impressed by Benessere wellness center and Spa. This was my find of the year so far. The staff are very friendly and professional. I arrived a little early and as soon as I walked into their stunning space I was made to feel like I was their #1 client, I was offered bottled spring water, a selection of organic teas, and I was invited to enjoy their wonderfully peaceful ambiance. I went for a 60 minute Swedish massage which is my usual choice. I travel internationally for work and massage is my go to time to unwind and de-stress while I am away and as soon as I return home so I know what to expect and knew what I was in for (well, I thought I did). However, this experience far exceeded my prior visits to any other spa!, Anywhere!. It ticked all the right boxes from the moment I walked in to the time I left. My massage was just perfect, the right amount of pressure, not too firm, she (My massage therapist Lori) seemed to just know where all of my stresses were and removed them with ease. I felt invigorated afterwards. Best massage i have ever had. The pricing was very reasonable for what I got, especially in the summit area. Benessere is now my new home, away from home. I have told all of my friends about my experience and now i'm telling you....You MUST try this wonderful oasis of relaxation:) If I could have given 10 Stars I would have. Im sure you will too. Benessere Personal Training is so much more than i have ever seen or experienced from a personal training studio before. Colin is the absolute best. I have never met any fitness professional anywhere with the extensive anatomy knowledge or the intuitive practical application of body mechanics and functionality that he has. I am a senior professional in my 50's and i work in NYC, Over the years i have used multiple high end trainers at studios like Equinox, RBF, Sculpt, Tone House etc... all claim to be the best of the best but ill tell anybody who asks... Colin is on another level Completely! Not only was he able to help me correct chronic back pain, but he helped me to become more aware of my own bodies dysfunctions, once he had corrected these he worked with me to achieve optimal health through corrective and postural exercise, inner core re-patterning, posterior chain re-balancing and so so much more.. I love Benesserre, wish I found this place sooner! After trying expensive, super trendy frenetic gyms, Beneserre in comparison is a zen, calm oasis. As another reviewer pegged it, it is like heaven on earth. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and clean with tons of positive energy. I use both the gym and also go to Colin for personal training. Colin is amazing and really knows his stuff. He has almost a 6th sense in knowing how little or how much to push you on any given day. I leave every workout with Colin feeling invigorated. Colin's talent really lies in his ability to adjust his approach to the individual. I first came to Colin after years of inactivity. He gently guided me to becoming regularly active again and enjoying workouts, while building strength. Trust me, that was no small feat! I stumbled across Benessere one afternoon as I passed through Summit. Upon entering the space I immediately sensed the calm atmosphere. It is a Center for Wellness that offers an array of services such as yoga and fitness classes, personal training, massages and acupuncture. Everyone who works there is so helpful and kind. I started seeing Benessere's acupuncturist Karin Rodriguez. She used a treatment on me called Jin Shin Jyutsu which is an ancient Japanese Healing Art and an alternative to acupuncture if you have a fear of needles. By the use of her hands, she completely cleared blocked energy pathways to flow freely. After a few sessions, Karin miraculously helped my vertigo, which I have been suffering from for years. She goes above and beyond and makes you feel so comfortable. She is wonderful and I highly recommend seeing her! read more

My family has really enjoyed working out with Colin at Benessere. I have 2 teenage boys and Colin has introduced them to weight training, teaching proper techniques and workout regimens in 1x1 and 1x2 classes. He has a great private weight/workout studio for 1 or 2 people and he really knows his stuff. He focusses first on strengthening the core which has given all of us much better posture and readied the boys to lift weights with a proper foundation. Teenage boys don't listen much to their fathers about weightlifting but they do listen to Colin and I feel better knowing that they are lifting correctly. Colin is always professional and courteous and has given the boys a few workout routines and has discussed their diet with him. If you are looking for a great personal trainer - you should try Colin. read more

Best experience I've ever had! My husband surprised me with a deep tissue massage and a facial as a birthday gift. The massage was perfect- all of my concerns were addressed and I left feeling stretched and relaxed. If you're going for a facial you must see Marilyn. Since having my daughter, my skin hasn't been quite the same and I was nervous I would leave there looking like a red, blotchy monster, but Marilyn knows her stuff! I walked out of there without one red mark and my skin was soft and felt better than it has in 2 years. I purchased only one of the products that they used while I was there, but have been following Marilyn's advice on how to take care of my skin and I haven't had one break out since (went about 3 weeks ago)- she is amazing. read more

I travel for a living so whenever I can I schedule a facial and message. So when I heard about Benessere from a neighbor of mine who goes there regularly for a "Marilyn facial" I had to have one. I was impressed. The space is fantastic, very lovely and beautiful designed. The staff is friendly and attentive. And my facial with Marilyn was exceptional. She chooses aromatic creams and cleaners and explains what she is doing and why. Her message, exfoliation and cleaning are both gentle and invigorating. At the end I felt refreshed yet very calm. I can't say enough good things about Benessere. The owners, Lori and Collin, are really warm and welcoming. In fact, everyone who works there is. I have been taking Nia at Benessere since they opened. These teachers are without a doubt the best in New Jersey. And,the best part is that the other members of the classes are so friendly. Recently,I started doing personal training with Colin. He is an absolutely excellent trainer. He changes up every routine. The classes at Benessere are so beneficial and you get the most to your dollar. Even if you go to one class you get so much information and you learn so much about what exercise or stretch you're doing and how it affects that muscle. You can go at your own pace. The amount of weight is your choice. I get to challenge myself to my own max even though it may not be as extreme as someone else's. The atmosphere of the whole facility is top-notch. It gives you the impression of being professional but also being friendly and personal. It's personally like a second home to me. read more

I LOVE this place! It is peaceful, spiritual and beautiful. The staff is wonderful. I followed my esthetician Marilyn Palmer from another spa because she is one of the best people I have ever known. She is very positive and passionate in everything she does. She goes the extra step to make her clients feel pampered and special. I cannot recommend Benessere highly enough!!! My whole family goes to this fabulous wellness center and spa. Colin is an excellent personal trainer. Each client is treated as a distinct individual. He works extremely well with me, my husband and our teenage daughter. Lori is an equally-talented masseuse. This is a beautiful, serene, spiritual place. I have taken NIA classes here for almost three years now. The owners are wonderful, caring people. Our NIA teachers are fabulous. What is NIA--movement without pain! Non Impact Aerobics developed by Debbie Rosas in the "80s. I am in my 60's and this mind-spirit-body movement has made me feel both mentally and physically well. We are so happy we found Benessere, recommended by our insurance for Karen for acupuncture. I find it very warm and relaxing. Both my daughter and myself have had Laurie for massages and she is amazing. The staff have worked with us and truly care about my daughter's well-being and health with their caring ways. Great place. Very friendly, relaxed and beautiful space where you can train in a more intimate environment vs. a huge impersonal gym. Colin the owner really knows what he is talking about and will rework with you to adjust things to fit your personal needs. I love Benessere. I experienced the best facial by Marilyn. She is a true professional and a fun person. Marilyn knew right away what my sensitive face needed. She cooled down my skin. She explained what she was doing and going to do. Not only did she give my skin it's health back, she massaged my hands and feet! Absolutely luscious. I was glowing when I left. I have been going to Benessere for over two years on a regular basis - 2x - 3x per week. It is an extremely clean, up to date, zen like environment. I have been a client of Marilyn's for many years, way before she worked at Benessere. She is THE BEST for facial care. Wouldn't go to anyone else for a facial! They did a scalp wash with shampoo, conditioner and a couple of massages, brush, wash and rinse. It was coupled with neck, shoulder, arm and hand massages because I have less hair than my sister. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly and after I used the restroom, I was escorted right to my room. They already scored points for me in this area! Appointments should start on time!!! Nina and Linda did my service today and they were very sweet! The service was unlike anything I've experienced. During the entirety of my service, some part of me was getting massaged. If it wasn't my neck and shoulders, it was my face or my arms and hands. I was not expecting all of that and was very happy and relaxed. Multiple tools were used on my scalp throughout the appointment, such as their fingers, gua shas and other tools to help the circulation in my scalp. There was at least 30-40 minutes of massaging before my hair even got washed. My only downside is that they use the same products for all hair types. I have very curly hair and with that comes dryness - it's the dryers hair type. They just kept telling me "your hair is dry" and it didn't seem like they had good product for my hair. After my appointment, I was headed to work so I called previously to ask if the hair is styled after the service and I was told yes "blow dried". My naive self thought that that ment a blow out. Guess not so naive, because I know there are places in the city that do finish off your service with a blow out. Really, what they meant was a light blow dry and the rest with air dry. This does not work for curly hair, sadly. My hair was a frizzy mess and was not their fault - that's just how curly hair is. You have to add product to it. So I had to run to the pharmacy to get product since I went directly to work after this. That is truly my only complaint, but to be honest, I would still book again and just know to bring my own styling products to apply after the massage and wash. Clean, quiet, and private rooms with soothing music playing. The lady behind the reception desk is very warm and nice, presumably the owner. I like that this place is open early and late and appears to be well staffed. I tried to make an appointment at Elements in New Providence and they wouldn't have anybody available that could do deep tissue until noon and only seemed to have men that do deep tissue when I prefer a female therapist. My therapist, Angela, applied just the right amount of force and obviously is well skilled, identifying problem areas on her own and focusing exactly where I have been experiencing chronic pain in my left shoulder lately. They offer package rates and discounts and really do offer a nicer facility that is better staffed with authentic and skilled Chinese massage therapists for comparable pricing. Wifey and I are looking forward to being regulars!

She called in and was going to be twenty minutes late but I had another appt after and couldn't wait. How would she feel if I showed up 20 minutes late when she had other clients waiting? I am sure she wouldn't be waiting for me.
