=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE This review based on the car wash…read moreonly: it's OK. If you need a touchless car wash for very light grime on your ride, this could be it. See my review for Peninsula Co-op - I found that one a little better and even then, it wasn't great. If you can wait for a hand wash or an automated brush-based one, I would do that; otherwise this might do in a pinch. === 2. CAR WASH As mentioned, it's just OK, and I would recommend it for very light grime (e.g., a day or two after it rained and you had some light dirt on your car). This car wash dries your car at the very end and you need to drive through slowly to get the drying experience within a certain period of time. Don't back up in any way as it cancels the drying cycle completely for some reason! === 3. SERVICE The people working here are great - friendly and professional! While I found them steady traffic-wise, the wait wasn't too long to get their attention and all set for the wash.

Certainly these drive- in oil and filter companies don't replace a full mechanical or dealer shop…read morebut for routine oil changes the convenience is undeniably significant. Prices are competitive and as repeat business builds your car's service history with them. And as time goes by recommend extras will be addressed in due course, such as air filters, differential lube services, etc. I find it extremely funny that other reviewers post pejorative statements about ad-on sales being pushed on them. Excuse me, it's called vehicle maintenance for a reason. Yes, I've been know to postpone the odd recommendation until the next service visit because of budget, but really, it's in the vehicles best interest. Throw your car's VIN into a dealer on-line site calculator and you will get the recommended maintenance interval which should validate the needed scheduled service item. Probably in your manual too. Other than that, the staff at this EZ Lube are knowledgeable within their scope and I've only ever experienced friendliness and exemplary service. I'd say that at the end of the day however, this is a niche service and mechanical advice fits more into their business model narrative than exceptional automotive/mechanical knowledge. But. Even dealers overfill oil levels and over torque drain plugs and filters. These drive through businesses hire lads who work under vehicle all day long and at this location I've never had by three cars ever messed up. They even offer tire rotations as more maintenance items are added for your convenience. I once had to prove regular maintenance to a dealer for warranty work and the EZ Lube staff forwarded all my records promptly. Regardless it is up to a customer, male or female, to take responsibility to maintain regular, routine service and know your own vehicle's schedule. Yes you, the car owner. Then work with this excellent location to keep it up for the areas they can. Refuse add-on if you want and do some research. That may include injector cleaning too, whatever. I also get my wiper blades changed there and it's alway competitively priced with free install. I do leave CVT oil flushing and sealed transmission fluid changes to the dealers though and follow my owner's manual for mileage suggestions - though that can depend largely on car usage and driving habits. As great as the convenience is for drive-through routine oil changes, just remember they will never replace the dealer service department nor a local trusted mechanical shop.

They immediately told me I needed a new carburetor before that they could even figure out what the real problem is then he continue to tell me that the carburetter alone just the part is $1300. That is a total scam and they're just trying to take advantage of me because I'm a woman. My boyfriend called them afterwards and they had a different story. THEN they made me wait for a few more hours only to wait for their call they hadn't even looked at it again they were waiting for me to say yes to the part before they looked any further . I'll take it to somebody else trustworthy and that you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Total waste of time and a tow this is such a bullshit shop They didn't even look at it for 20 minutes before they try to charge me $1000 on top of what the cost is not to mention all the labour on top of that and then God knows what else they would've told me I needed replacing too. after I told them I know how much a new carb costs they were so rude to me didn't even put my doghouse back on properly and damaged my rug I custom put in there that I specifically asked them to please be careful with. it's a custom boogie van. do not let these guys scam you especially if you're a woman. they should be ashamed of themselves . All the guys at Lordco laughed when I told them that and said wow what a joke as well as the other mechanic shops I contacted too. that is outrageous he said the PART ALONE 1300$. not cost of labour and then adjusting it would be all on top of that lol fuck these guys . He even said he could possibly rebuild it it might be slightly cheaper lmao at lordco it's a 350 part And I doubt I even need one.

They did my brakes, pads rotors and calipers…read more Within 6 months a caliper was leaking going down the highway. I went in for them to inspect and then repair for free, but they told me there was no problem. I went to parkside (I recommend them) who confirmed the issue. I went back with the confirmation of the issue and now they agree and repair. At the 13 month mark my other caliper starts leaking. I go in, and they'll do the repair but I'll have to pay labor because it's more than a year. I don't even trust them to do the work. I could have and should have done it all myself initially, I'm paying for my laziness still. This is all on top of their general untrustworthiness. I would expect that if you went in to a mechanic for an issue and what you thought was wrong was not actually wrong, then they would tell you and not do the work and charge you for it. Speedy are not a good mechanic like that. They'll happily take your money. They changed my steering pump at my request when the issue was actually the shaft bearing being rusty.

Of course, the problem immediately went silent and the car drove perfectly. On the fourth lap of the block, the elusive problem finally reared it's head. I took it to a garage in town, and they charged me $300 to replace the gasket and studs on the front exhaust pipe. Three weeks later, I was on the Malahat Highway and all of a sudden my car sounded like the Beverly Hillbilly's car. Motorbike riders were jealous! And there was a bad smell of exhaust coming in the car. I went to Midas on Government Street and Rob had a look. It turns out that the job that was done 3 weeks earlier had come apart. Rob had to order parts and do the repair over. Now here comes the kicker: I was only charged $72! I was over the moon! This was my best garage experience ever. The quote was $102, but Rob didn't need one of the parts, so it was cheaper!! Midas on Government have a customer for life. It's so nice to be treated so well! Thanks, Rob!

BC Out of Province Vehicle Inspection - Victoria British Columbia…read more Our BC out of province vehicle inspection led me to Searles Auto Repair in Victoria. We just moved here from Alberta and I was not looking forward to the inspection in the least. When moving into Alberta I was scammed and ripped off getting it done there a couple of years back. I Googled local repair shops, landed on Searles Auto Repair and their reviews were outstanding. They booked me within 2 days and I dealt with Blake. I had a good idea in mind of what the cost should be going in and there were no surprises ... Blake called me after initial scans and preliminary check. He called again with final estimated costs and at the end of the day came in under his quoted amount. It was interesting that the first thing catching my attention was that the windows in the building were spotless. The shop and grounds were pristine. Clean shop = clean work on my truck. Read between the lines on the negative reviews ... these guys are top shelf. Trustworthy, honest and certainly not out to gouge (lol!) They could have really split hairs on my inspection and simply made me bring all required items legally up to provincial standard and pass. I had a slight irritating rattle in the front end and have taken to 2 different shops who could not find or fix it. Blake fixed it .. smooth as silk now. I would never consider going anywhere else. Prices are fair, quality of work is excellent, and above all, Searles are professional, honest and trustworthy.
