I had gotten a pedicure a few years ago from this nail salon and thought it was pretty good. Unfortunately, this was not the case when I went in this time. I wanted to treat myself to their mani/pedi special but had to stop any further services after I was done with my manicure. Ok, first I was taken by the man manicurist. He filed my natural nails into a french tip shape slightly rough...but I put up with it. Then he started cutting my cuticles and Flippen gashed two of my fingers and made me bleed! He seemed to not pay attention while doing my nails and was looking around talking to people not even paying attention to what his task at hand was. I suppose one of his appts came in b/c I was then transferred to the girl manicurist. She, much more gentle, continued working on my other hand (All the while my left hand fingers were steadily bleeding out). She too unfortunately clipped a finger on my rt hand and I started to bleed! So I told her uhh hey I'm kinda bleeding over here can you give me a cotton ball! Dang, seriously I was not happy with this place. The uncertainty of their tool sanitation plagued my mind as I sat there with now 3 fingers with open wounds :/ Not a relaxing or even enjoyable experience. I payed 10 bucks for by fingers to become vulnerable to infectious bacteria!!!! Oh gosh seriously this salon experience made me experience anxiety! As soon as I got home I poured peroxide on all my fingers and put a topical triple anti-biotic on. Also, I'd like to add....the nail polish selection was not very good. Almost all their colors are shimmery, even though Matte colors are the current trend. The nail color that I did chose"teenage pink" was sort of sticky and took forever to dry, one of the other nail tech had to actually fix almost all my nails b/c when I went to get my wallet out and pay the nail polish wrinkled and smeared. All in all, I will never be going back to Gorgeous Nails or any other like "Nail Mill" probably eVer! The threat of getting a bacterial infection from uncertain sanitation and care greatly outweighs my desire to do something nice for myself. I won't be going back as today is the 3rd day since getting my manicure and my wounded fingers have little scabs and are inflamed surrounding the cuticle in which the damage was inflicted :( read more

I went to Gorgeous Nails for the first time the other day. Several of my friends recommended this place. It wasn't busy when I went and I wanted a pedi and gel mani. When I left everything was great. Later that night the polish chipped on one of my toe nails. The next day several of my finger nail polish chipped. I went back 3 days after I had my nails done and the same lady fixed them all. Today is 2 days after that and 3 of my toe nails have chipped and gel polish has come off 4 of my nails. I have never had this happen before and especially not less than a week after getting them done. I'm sure if I went back they would fix it again but I don't have time for that. Then they said they would take one of us right now and then start on the next person when the chair opened. My pedicure was almost finished and my cousin still hadn't got a chair yet. Then 4 other women came in who "had appointments" and then the people at gorgeous nails asked my cousin to wait another hour/ hour and a half after she had already been waiting 45 min! I was gifted a $150 gift receipt for this place for Christmas and every time I come in for a gel set they tell me to come back hours later around 6 or 6:30? 30 minutes before close? I will not have a rushed job done. There was one other lady getting her nails done and the space seemed very empty? I do not understand why they wouldn't have me wait or plan an appointment. So rude. Went in for a pedicure & manicure. Was not greeted when I walked in woman at the first chair asked in a very low voice..what you need? I told her & she said to pick a color which I did. She then tells me to go to a pedi chair. So I sit in the first one and sit there for about 10 minutes until another woman comes up and tells me to move. I sat at the next chair for about 10 minutes while I watch 2 other people be seated and their pedis started. Finally the nail tech next to me says I will be with you in 5 min. First time trying this nail salon my normal nail guy is on vacation & they were full. So I called around got some prices and wait times. Gorgeous nails had the best prices and no wait time when I called. I am super picky about my nails so I was anxious trying a new place but this place did not let me down. The women who did my pedicure was gentle and took her time, hot stones were also included in the $20 pedicure which was amazing. Came here with a friend as a last minute treatment. I would sit here and write out my entire first-time experience here, but 1) it'd be too long and 2) it would irritate me all over again. Yes, they were very clean. But communication regarding customers between employees was terrible. I ended up waiting over an hour and a half just to get a full set done when they were not busy at all and there were available employees. When I was finally able to get helped, the gentleman did a great job putting the nails on, but when he passed me off to the lady to paint the design I wanted, she did such a sloppy job. And after all the waiting, miscommunication, and sloppy work, the cost of it all was ridiculous. $28 for a full set w/ a simple painted design done terribly.... Ridiculous!! I could get a way better job done on my nails for a better deal at my original spot. Not going back there again. read more

My cousins and me have been going here for years but things are changing. For past couple months they seem to over charge us. I mentioned three times no designs for my daughter again as soon as I went to get pedicures the lady added designs for my daughter. My cousins been having the same experiences lately too. And when u ask them why they add designs or why did they charge that much? They try to ignore u or all of the sudden they don't understand English or blame it on the other person. I never had a problem with this place. If you go in in the morning, you probably won't have as big of a wait as you do in the afternoon. My acrylic nails break occasionally, I attribute that to me having paper thin real nails. They are always nice about fixing my nail that has broken, and I tip them. If you want to have a good relationship with any type of service person, you need to be a regular and you need to tip them to ensure you get good service. I just finished working out at the gym and started feeling pain in my big toe. I decided to stop by at gorgeous nails. Considering it was under new management I decided to give them a try. My technician was Mai and she was great! I was told that I had an ingrown toenail. She politely removed it and immediately it was extremely relieved of the pain. The last time the girl admitted I should keep an eye on it! I went into gorgeous nails they said it was going to be a 30 minute wait... I walked in the place about 2:40 and didn't get my nails started until about 3:30 while there was workers walking around talking and playing with a child that was in there. I just wanted a fill and they finally sat me down and it took five minutes for one of the workers to walk over and start doing my nails after I said "Am I going to get my nails done?" Then by the time I even had paint on my fingers the lady next to me had done a full acrylic set on one person and then took off old shellac and put new shellac on another girl. The lady doing my nails took over 40 minutes just filing my nails! I didn't leave until 4:30!! And my nails don't even look that amazing!!!! Never going back there!!! read more

I was a walk in for a pedicure. The lady at the first table on the left was so rude! She grunted at me when I told her I just wanted a pedicure and demanded I go "pick cula". When I sat down for the pedicure after sitting there for 30 minutes (their was only 2 other customers in the shop) the lady that resembled a transvestite, lectured me in broken English that my toe nails were too short. I told her they were not too short I just have small nails. She poked at my cuticles so much that they bled. She got nail polish all over my toes and didn't clean it up. And when I asked her to please clean up the polish she told me "nails too small can't do" I told her that I was not going to pay for such a bad pedicure. I explained to her first you made be bleed then you polished my toe nails like a 3 year old child. This is the worst pedicure I ever got. And BTW she was done in less then 10 minutes. If you want an excellent pedicure go to CT TAN AND NAIL SALON and get a pedicure from TAO. She is the best!! I would never go back to gorgeous nails...their was NOTHING gorgeous about the sloppy mess they presented to me. This place SUCKS!!! read more

I enjoyed getting my nails done today. My nails lady was very nice and concern if I liked the color of my nails. She also took her time.

I walked in and asked if I could get a pedicure. The female owner said, "yea go sit down," and pointed towards the pedi chairs. I asked which one. She said, "Um the empty one." There were THREE EMPTY ONES! I said, "There are three empty ones." She did not respond. I took a chance and sat at the first empty chair. Another female employee came and told me that chair wasn't ready. She was friendly. The woman who did my nails was very sweet. She did an ok job, but she cut my nails very short-even though I asked her not to cut them. The female owner was the cashier when we were finished. She did not even look in my general direction. I decided to try this place because I was close to the mall and didn't want to drive out to Oakdale Rd for Mimi's nails, where I usually go. I have to say I didn't care for this place. It is ran by husband/wife and the husband was doing my fills. I was in there for an hour and a half....way too long for fills. They are extremely slow. They also got mad at me when I asked for my length to be trimmed at the end...well I figured they were going to do it in the end since they didn't ask right when I sat down. They talked about that in their language and then he told me to tell him next time that I wanted them trimmed first. My nails came out fine, but for the rest of the issues I won't be returning. Also their children were out and about and all over the salon watching cartoons, when they should have a decent show on for their customers and the children should be in the back area.
