my visit was really awesome...as weird as that is to say about going to the dentist after two years. it's a very nice office to walk into, and samantha is so friendly and hospitable, she makes you feel welcome. i was in the waiting room maybe two minutes when melissa came up to get me for my cleaning. melissa was very detailed and let me know what she was going to do and how. during the cleaning, we chatted about music, work, teeth and so on. as i'd said, it's been two years, so it was probably one of melissa's more involved cleanings, but my teeth felt great, and she was gentle on the teeth that were causing me discomfort. after that, i went in to the exam room for a couple more x-rays where i saw annette who was also super friendly and accommodating. she made sure i was comfortable and grabbed a few more x-rays before leaving to get the doctor and review the treatment plan. oh, and the exam chair is super comfortable with heat and massage control. dr. raggi came in to start his exam and was yet again, another friendly face in the practice and let me know what was going on. he was also teaching, but i did not retain the young man's name. during the exam, he went over everything and all questions i had, and explained everything at a level of my understanding. we also chatted about family and the local area, so it wasn't all about teeth. after the exam, we went over the treatment plans and i was ready to go back to samantha. i went up front to check out, and my treatment plans were still being entered, which i knew, so samantha offered to make me some coffee while i waited and we went over my billing and verified my insurance submission. i booked my next two appointments to go back and start the treatment plan and chatted with samantha to discover we had a common workplace. i highly recommend gorges dental to anyone looking for a new dentist at extremely reasonable prices, and the quality of equipment, facilities, and people are superior to any other i've been to. read more

We are used to a very relaxed atmosphere, where we connect personally with all the staff in the dental office because we've known each other a long time. . . 30+ years. My introduction to Dr. Tony and Melissa Raggi was warmly received, patient, as I relayed my previous experiences, and good humored throughout, putting me at ease, with a sense of confidence that remaining with this practice was the correct choice. My husband and I just recently started going to Gorges Dental and we are very glad we came here when looking for a new dentist. Dr. Raggi just worked on 5 of my front teeth just today, replacing the old veneers and filling in a few small cavities. It took about 3 hours but it was not as bad as I anticipated. I am very pleased with my teeth-they look better than ever! I also had a couple of other cavities that he took care of a month or so ago, which included replacing my old mercury fillings. In between these appointments I had my teeth cleaned by Kedin (Hygienist). My husband has also had his teeth cleaned twice now, the first being about 6 months ago. We both started off with an initial appointment with Dr. Raggi and Annette (Dental Assistant) in which we had x-rays and a consultation. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by Samantha (reception) and offered something to drink. The dental chairs are very comfortable, with a vibration option and heat option. They play music, asking you what you want to hear. Everyone is incredibly friendly, fun and sweet. The staff works well together and in a timely fashion. One of the best things I like about going here is that none of the staff forgets my name! One more thing: my husband is hard to please when it comes to any sort of Doctor-patient interaction, so if he's happy, they are doing a very fine job. I had an allergic reaction to a dental implant. My former dentist didn't believe me but sent me to see an allergist, my family doctor and an oral surgeon who referred me to Rochester Dental Center. Went there for almost 2 years for various treatments for the bleeding gums, painful blisters on my tongue and surfaces of my inner mouth. Nothing worked. A friend of mine recommended Gorges Dental. Best thing I ever did by making an appointment there. There are 3 providers there. I 've seen all 3. They all are so professional, interested in providing the best care and outcome for the patient. After a very short while, I am free of the allergic symptoms of bleeding gums and painful blisters. They removed the implant I was allergic to: in other words they listened to me which no one else would do because it was near the front of my mouth. Now I am happily having restorative work done for not being able to brush my teeth with with toothpaste or have dental cleaning appointments. The dentists, the hygienist and office staff are all of the best. I am forever grateful to my friend for recommending this practice to me. From my first phone inquiry to the conclusion of my first appointment yesterday, Dr. Raggi and staff were most welcoming, informative, and professional. Prompted by rave reviews from my daughter for this office, I made an exploratory call a couple of weeks ago, and Samantha was most helpful in scheduling my first appointment (within two weeks!), explaining billing and answering my questions. I was seen promptly at my appointment time, and all x-ray processes were explained by both interns, Amir, and Jason. Dr. Raggi was very prompt as well, and explained all options and procedures fully for my individual treatment plan. Melissa, (dental hygienist), was thorough and painless in her cleaning treatment. Gorges Dental and there staff are the best there is. I took myself and son there for cleanings and to have an old filling fixed. To say the least they are extremely patient with children and make it fun!!! Dr. Raggi is extremely knowledgeable and patient in the fact that he will take the time to explaine what your options are. Best part is he isn't out to bleed your wallet dry, he is affordable and wont do any unnecessary work just to get a paycheck like some dentist in town! If you sign up with your email and phone for automatic notification you will get a text message or email to confirm your appointment and I find that very helpful as I am a very busy person. His Wife Melissa is there hygienist and is very gentle. I have been to plenty of hygienists who don't care and it isn't pleasant! This is a relatively new practice --- Dr. Tony purchased it from the dentist I'd been going to for a number of years. Tony is the doc, his wife Melissa is a hygienist. They are both super nice. My transition has been painless. So far I'm feeling confident they are doing right by me as a patient. If you're looking for a dentist in the Tompkins County area you should definitely go meet them. P.S. I've designed a number of business logos over the years, and their tooth over Cayuga Lake is not my fav. But don't let that get in your way. Called Gorges dental before coming in to see what the price and procedures for a first time patient might be. The answer: xrays, cleaning and examination would cost 199. You pay upfront and then they charge your insurance. I received a statement for the procedure from my insurance later: Gorges charged my insurance approximately 562 dollars of which my insurance covered all but 169 of it. The correct answer to my question therfore should have been that the cost of the procedure was 562 not the 199 as they said. Feel ripped off and scammed. Good cleaning though. read more

Doctor Anthony Raggi was a wonderful help to me when I had a dental emergency during the time of widespread shut-downs due to Corona Virus. He saw me quickly, acted with great skill, and solved my problem. He acted with great solicitude and courtesy as well. I had no follow-up problems after he performed his corrective measures. I would like to add my personal recommendation: Dr. Tony is professional, very friendly, and an efficient provider of excellent dental care. This is the third dentist I've been to for a mysterious toothache. The previous two dentist couldn't find the reason and literally did nothing to help. With Dr. Raggi, I was able to get an appointment the same day and he detailedly explained the cause and potential solutions of my toothache. I'm getting treatments next week and will hopefully get rid of the pain. Such a relief to finally know what's going on. All the staffs there were very friendly and professional. I recently had dental procedures performed by Dr. Raggi which I guess you would call restorations. My front upper teeth were badly chipped and worn away after many years in this senior's body. Dr. Raggi was able to restore these four teeth to better than original using resin. I was thrilled with the result.
