If the customer-facing areas look like this, God only knows how unsanitary the back rooms are. The employees exude an attitude of disgruntlement, laziness and complete lack of interest in their job...probably the outcome of being exploited for cheap labor by Tom the Scrooge. Anything resembling customer service is nonexistent here. Be prepared to wait a in the single staffed checkout line, while three other employees watch you wait and never even make a move to open another checkout line. And the prices...I've never seen such outrageously high grocery prices anywhere. This is obviously the result of the small town single grocery store monopoly that Tom has jealously guarded in Portland for decades. If a Meijer or Walmart opened in this town, they would crush Tom like the cockroach he is...and that live in his store.

They also sell some homemade baked goods and hot foods. I popped in here this summer when I was out roaming the backroads near where I grew up. They had everything I needed and tempted me with several things I didn't. I'm impressed with how well they keep this place going. Given what I see in town (Ovid, Elsie, Saint Johns), I cannot imagine what it takes to keep a place like this going, and it's going pretty good.

I saw some reviews that said that had a knowledgeable staff I asked the person who was working if they had any Florida beers he said look around I don't know what I have really lol. I found a 21st amendment IPA that I love but The Best buy date was from 2021 really. I found a lot of out-of-date beers.
