Gus' records were shared with us so we could take them to another vet, if wanted. In the meantime Goshen sent us text reminders for his next round of vaccinations. Veterinary medicine and care is not for the faint of heart. People who choose this profession are very special and that is why I can't say enough good things about Goshen Animal Clinic. I take all of my pets there, dogs and cats, for everything from checkups to grooming, boarding, and all the unexpected things that come with pet ownership. The vets are fantastic and the staff is always kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. It really feels like family when I walk in the door. Unfortunately, I'm there more than I'd like to be because my pets all have their own quirks and health needs, but I always feel like we're in good hands. Even when I have had to say goodbye to my sweetest cat and also my dog, they were so gentle and supportive through the whole thing. I called twice to schedule minor surgery for our new puppy (neutering). Both times I called they told me they would have the surgery scheduler call me to schedule. I double checked that they had the correct phone number. I never heard from them. i ended up going to a different vet. I have 4 dogs so this is business they just threw away. read more

Absolutely love Dr Hagen and Dr Profit. I have taken all my babies here for around 10 years now and have never had a bad or rude experience . My cat and dogs are not fearful of them, they talk to my pet before poking around - Dr Hagen usually kisses my cat on the head ( which is endearing to me). They truly have a heart for animals and it shows throughout the office staff as well. I have used their boarding facility - which is great , their groomer is incredible ( the best) . I have been a long time client of Goshen. Today, our family cat declined and my Mom, who is his primary caretaker, was out of town on a business trip. Living 1000 miles away, I was able to call and speak with Ali and explain the situation, and she was so understanding and wonderful. Without hesitation, she told me to tell the pet-sitter to bring Scout in for evaluation. Dr. Barnes was fantastic, and I felt like Scout was in great hands. Given that he was an older cat, and was declining rapidly, we made the decision to euthanize. It was a tough decision, but Goshen made the experience as graceful as possible. Called and asked for an appointment to have my 3 pound dog groomed. First I was asked if I was a customer there and I responded no. Then I was transferred to another woman who then said she couldn't groom my dog until September. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I am not often easily impressed on a first visit, but we needed to take a very sick kitty to a very capable vet and took the recommendations here on yelp to try out the Goshen Animal Clinic. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the park like campus of this clinic, complete with doggie dookie disposal bags for the responsible pet owners to use. When we brought Grandma Violet in to the clinic we were immediately greeted by an attentive staff who addressed us by our name and appointment time. The place did not smell like a veterinary clinic, it smelled very pleasant like an herbal candle. While looking around I noticed many small details that impressed me... like a beverage refrigerator with small ice cold water bottles for the pets and their parents to enjoy. We were directed to bring Grandma V into one of their exam rooms which I immediately noticed the table you put your pet on had a sign on it said, "Sanitized for you and your pet's protection" it's these small details that elevate it above their competition who seems more concerned about getting the masses in and out. In fact I don't think they had much of a waiting room as they seemed to have adequate staff to take care of business. They were very gentle with our little old treasure and took care of her issues. As for their pricing, another clinic that our end of town (Southwest Louisville) rates very high is much more expensive than this vet. We also noticed their outdoor kennels were very clean, and they have some very reasonable prices for boarding. Grandma Violet was in great hands... Queen Annie, and Lady Jade will be visiting soon. Yesterday I had the best experience ever. I took my 10 years old greyhound to Goshen Animal Clinic. Dr. Brenna Roth took care of my dog, and I was amazed. She spent about 20 minutes explaining all the possible scenarios. She is the most professional vet I have ever met. I am really happy with this experience. read more

I take my dog here to be groomed and I can't say enough about how they treat her for the day when she gets groomed. She always looks great when I get her and I appreciate their love for my fur baby. She comes home with a bandana and they are always adorable!!! I take my dog with me on trips but if I didn't I would also board here. I had heard good things about Goshen before my dog started grooming there but now am glad I tried them out. Will continue t lo take my precious little dogger there! read more

Our first visit and it appeared the staff were having a rough day. Very nice but we waited 40 minutes and my small Yorkie was given all her immunizations at once. I was concerned about this but followed their recommendations. She is now very lethargic and not moving. I blame myself for not insisting on separating the vaccines. I was a customer here for year. When we got our kitten I was surprised at how expensive his shots were. Then I compared with a friend who was also having her kitten vaccinated. And I discovered she had paid 1/5 of what I had.. Wow they even charged me $4 to dispose of a syringe. I moved to another vets and saved a lot of money. Also when I asked them about costs to neuter the kitten they gave me a basic cost plus a sheet of extras which see see unnecessary that doubled the overall cost. read more

The Drs. and staff are just the best!! They ALWAYS take time to listen to you, and loving care for your pet. We most recently loss our beloved dog of 16 yrs. I ask if Dr. Proffitt could come to the house when it was time to say good bye. He did, and can't say how much that meant to us. I have been taking my dogs over the past 15+ years to Goshen. I have had Samoyeds and now have a Samoyed and an Akita. I bring them for their general and preventative treatments as well as having had several more serious issues with them over the years - c-section for puppies, diabetes, arthritis, old age and now one with an auto-immune desease. The doctors, Proffitt and Hagan and not only very knowledgable but incredibley caring towards all animals. I have always had great confidence in their abilities and the technicians that work with them. Caring for animals can be expensive, but I have always felt that they provide the quality of service and care that they would give to their own pets. The animal always comes first in their minds but they also know how to listen to the thoughts of the owners too and when possible incorperate them into the program. I have reccommended them many times over the years and know many people who also go to this animal clinic. After reading the previous reviews I felt the need to set it straight. read more

I have been taking my pets to this Clinic for over 17 years. I have been pleased with the care and professionalism of the staff. I will agree this is not the cheapest clinic around but I do trust them with the care of my pets. Dr Profit was able to most recently diagnose my dog. He laid out the options for treatment. His care, consideration and honestly helped us to allow our 14 year old dog to pass away at home while being as comfortable as possible. Dr Profit was quick to return my phone calls and spent time discussing her illness and treatment with me on several occasions. His time was invaluable to me at a very crucial time in my pets life. Have visited these people off and on over the past ten years. Except for the occasional vaccination, I wouldn't recommend them. I think that if you have a very involved issue you may want to find someone else. I took a dog to see them about a skin problem and they had no suggestions or medicine---bath him every day or two!!!?? Earlier this year, I took my dearest friend to see them because he wouldn't eat. Dr. Proffitt took blood & xrays. He thought that there was something in the dog's stomach that indicated he'd chewed up and swallowed some metal. He also said he was anemic. Said that anemia precluded an operation---I needed to take him to a hospital where they could operate and watch him 24/7( $300 thank you). Took him to Shively Animal Clinic. More xrays & bloodwork. Stomach was empty and he had non-regenerative anemia. We fought it for a month and finally lost the battle but Dr. Mary Jane Fuchs at Shively did the same initial tests and came to the proper conclusions---something that eluded Dr. Proffitt (Profit??). The charge for the same work up and the right diagnosis? $65. If you want the very best care for your pet, avoid these people until such time as they get a competent doctor to come in to practice.
