Not good. I went in for callus removal and the doctor deeply cut the bottom of my foot and acted irritated that I was bleeding profusely and in pain. It really hurts. I had to limp home and when I got home I'd bled through the bandage and ruined my new sandals. So much for having pretty summer feet. It's still throbbing and bleeding. Now thinking I'll need to go to urgent care tomorrow to see if I need glue or stitches to seal the wound. And will have to cancel my plans this weekend because it hurts to walk. read more

I recently twisted my ankle and pulled my Achilles tendon. I could barely walk and needed the use of a cane. I booked an appointment with Dr. Cunha and learned he was scheduled away. I met with Dr. Mehta who recently joined the practice. She is amazing! She was already aware of my condition when I arrived. She explained the current therapy was accurate and that I continue with both passive and taping. My ankle was still a bit swollen but as most, I had to be back in the office. Within 20 minutes after my appointment I immediately felt less pain and able to stretch my Achilles further. I usually don't post reviews on doctors but I feel so strongly about my experience here I had to say something. I came in on October 10, 2016 when my foot was hurting from what appeared to be an ingrown and broken nail after running a half marathon two days prior. I saw Neha Pathak who chatted with me briefly and took a look at my foot without doing anything on it (not even putting on a bandage). She suggested I take x-ray, which I decided not to do. Despite her persistent reiteration that I should come back and get an x-ray, I didn't make an appointment and just left the office. Fast forward to June of last year, I received a surprise bill in the mail not only charging me for an office visit but also an x-ray and "strapping of ankle and/or foot." The total bill came out to be $1525.32. I'd already paid the copay at the time of my visit, and had only booked the appointment after checking that the doctor was in my insurance's network on Zocdoc. I called and explained that I had received absolutely no service beyond a brief conversation with the doctor, and that the copay should've been the only payment from me. After wasting my time on the phone with a representative and having to call back again to make sure the practice had removed all the false charges, I still feel disgust thinking about what'd transpired and the dishonest practices this office conducts. read more

My spouse was diagnosed correctly and found the doctor to be very friendly. The exercises she was given for her foot worked like a charm. That's where the good news ended. Ten months after our first visit, we were contacted on Christmas Day (!) by their billing office about an insurance mix-up. We settled that. Fast forward two years later - we get an email AND a phone call from their office alerting us to a past due bill. Both communications were unprofessional and a tad aggressive. More to the point, the visits were in 2018, and we were notified about this balance (thankfully not a catastrophic amount) in 2020. Good doctor, but an awful practice. The physical therapy sessions are pretty terrible and a waste of time. Only offers passive physical therapy (using machines). No massages or exercise while being advised my the physical therapists. The fact that you are trying to discredit my review and try to get it taken down from yelp is quite funny. It shows that you are more concerned with trying to hide very real reviews instead of trying to fix your "successful" business. Upon my first visit with Dr. Lilker, I was excited that I found a podiatrist with great bedside manner that listened to me and was able to diagnosis me fairly quickly. However, things went downhill from there. A few weeks after my appointment with Dr. Lilker, I had a follow up with Dr. Cunha. That appointment was such a waste of my time as I waited nearly an hour for him to spend about 2 minutes seeing me. He did not even bother to introduce himself or ask me my name. He looked at my foot and said "you're fine, here is a prescription". Two weeks later and I receive a bill for $5,000. I called the billing office, and they said that it will be taken care of. Nothing was ever done, and I had to call the billing office at least once a week for the next month. Eventually, I had to go into the doctor's office to speak directly with the office manager, Evelyn. Evelyn was nice and followed up with actual action. Forward ahead to 6 month after my initial appointment, I receive another bill from the billing office for $500 with no explanation. After speaking back and forth with Evelyn, my insurance, and the billing office, the bill was a mistake. I have never had such a horrible experience with any medical office and their billing staff. Whilst Dr. Lilker may be great, the sheer incompetence of the billing office makes me want to run not walk away from this practice. read more

Gotham Footcare is, hands-down, one of the best medical practices I've ever been experienced. I was looking for a podiatrist to help with a few issues I was experiencing, and was amazed by Dr Cunha's reviews and booked an appointment online. I loved the fact that I both book and fill out all my paperwork and insurance info online, so I didn't have to deal with it when I got there in person. From the first time I walked into the office, the staff has always been amazing! After a few minutes, one of the receptionists tells me the doctor could not see me then because he had to attend a conference, and asked me to come back later. Now, I don't usually post these kinds of reviews, but the doctor's behavior was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Part of the reason for today's visit was to get my results for an analysis I had ordered and paid for. Not only did I not get the results I was promised, but when I asked the secretary there to get them for me, she told me the doctor would call be back as it seems she has no access whatsoever to these.
