It's like she didn't even touch the back. I paid almost $200 for this service and I don't know about anyone else but when you pay $200 for a full highlight, you expect a little bit more of highlights. I also noticed she placed the foils weird It's been about a month since the service. I just figured I would come to love it, but as it grew out there was a very harsh line of where the foils were, and where my natural growth came in never had this happen before instead of a straight back row where you normally park your hair, she parted it with my hair. The cons: it's often difficult to get an appointment (likely due to the caliber of my therapist), reception is blasé, facilities are (simply) adequate. I absolutely HATE this location! I used to go to this location all the time for my pedicures and normally had no problem. Once my normal tech, Michelle left I have had nothing BUT issues. The first issue was that my appointment was somehow mis-scheduled. I arrive for my appointment and was informed that it had been reassigned to another day. I was never notified of this! After asking to be accommodated for their mess up, I was told they MAY be able to fit me in for a mini pedicure which means no nail work. So basically a pedicure for a child. This caused me to not schedule any appointments at this location for a few years. Last week I decided to try them again. (Foolish me) I get a call the day before saying that my appointment was going to need to be canceled or rescheduled because the tech was sick. I replied "and there is not one other nail tech available so that my appointment may be honored!" The response was I am not sure let me look. (Shouldn't that have been done BEFORE you called me?) No but we may be able to get you in Thursday. Well no that doesn't work because I am not just sitting around twiddling my fingers so that I can adhere to your schedule changes!! I am so disgusted with this location! After calling their main office another location was able to accommodate me! WHY was this not handled internally before I was called! The same way I called THEIR main office is what OB could have done. I don't know who is in charge of that Mickey Mouse operation but no problem, I won't be back to the Olive Branch location anymore. read more

Alright so, I went to Goulds today but didn't get serviced. There were three ladies up front, two (I believe of African decent) and one (I believe Caucasian). I was greeted upon walking inside by all three. The younger Black lady behind the counter asked what services did I come for. I replied, oh just a shampoo, deep conditioning, blow dry, and trim. She then looked through the computer for an available stylist. She told me that no one would be free for two weeks to assist me due to the processes I needed. So then, I asked what services can I get today. She said, there's no one here to accommodate your ethnic hair. So then I asked, are the stylists there all licensed. The Caucasian lady responded, yes they are but they're not comfortable doing textured hair. We only have one person who can do it; and they won't be available for 2 weeks. I replied, oh, ok, thank you. Walked out then left this review. Now I'm leaving one star because they weren't rude about it and neither was I. However, I was going to get more services, like a facial and massage afterwards BUT if you can't accommodate my hair, how are you gonna be able to accommodate my skin? I asked for a touch up of my balayage. Even showed a picture of what it looked like before. And I had it touched up once in February when I was in Georgia. She did exactly as I asked and it looked perfect. That cost me $75. This mess cost me over $200. It should have been Simple. Bring some highlights up and cover my greys. Instead I got an entire balayage. So what was brown was dyed blonde which turned copper and the blonde was more blonde. The color was inconsistent and I had like a splotch of color on my bangs that was supposed to frame my face. I called and the manager said she would reduce it at no cost. Essentially she did the same thing. Now my hair is so processed I'm afraid to use an iron on it. Much of it is white and so uneven. read more

So I went for a shampoo/style, cut and eyebrow wax. My stylist was Amanda. Overall one of the best haircuts I've ever had which is speaking volumes because naturally my hair is an absolute pain in the butt to cut. Before the visit my eyebrows looked like caterpillars trying to fight each other; now they look and feel great. The overall experience with her was definitely worth every penny. She has a very warm, relaxing and friendly personality and the facility takes every precaution to protect customers and staff against covid. You can tell she has years of experience but still keeps a modern approach to trending fashions and styles. I love my hairstyle and will definitely be going back to her in the future. I have had hundreds of massages and I always have to correct the pressure of massage therapist. Either they have been overly aggressive or no pressure at all. Today, I had the best massage ever by Tony. He was awesome!!! Perfect pressure and he intuitively focused on muscles that were tight. I also had an amazing facial by Roxanne! I would have given 2.5 stars if allowed for having completely differing experiences when I've gone. My first experience was having my hair cut and it was not a cut worth the money charged so I struck them off the list for hair cuts. My second experience was having my nails done. The first time the nail tech drew blood twice, was very rough and although my nails looked good my cuticle area hurt for several days. This might sound a bit whiny but I have a fairly high tolerance for pain and work with my hands daily in my gardens with no gloves so it was pain worth mentioning. My third experience with a different nail technician was great, she was professional and my nails looked wonderful it was my second time with her that I was left speechless when I was insulted to my face not once but twice. After that I vowed not to darken the door of Gould's but my husband purchased an ultimate spa day for me for a present and I was so aggrieved at the insults that I let it sit for a full year before using it. Thankfully the last visit when I utilized the gift card was completely positive and I might return to use Gould's again. read more

This was my first experience at Gould's day spa. I must say it was a five star experience!! I opted for the Fiji pedicure and manicure. The area for the pedicure was extremely relaxing and the pedicure was not rushed so I was able to enjoy every second of the Fiji experience. From the temperature of the water to the great smells of the Fiji products everything was on point. I enjoyed the most about how the water being poured onto my legs to my feet from the pedicure chair. The fact that the chair was declined so I collapse back and experience the pedicure in a more relaxing mode.I had my choice of juice, water coffee or tea to sip during my experience. I highly recommend the Gould's day spa the location that I did visit was the location and inside of the Peabody Hotel the entire staff was more than hospitable, friendly and social. I went in with a girlfriend last weekend for a spa day and overall it was a great experience. I had a massage that was nice and relaxing, the only complaint I have is I asked for a focus on my back and not much time was spent on my back. While I had a massage, my friend had her first facial and she said she loved it especially since you also get an upper back massage while you're masking. Next we had lunch from Jason's Deli and then we finished up with pedicures. When she looked that I cut my toe nails short before she said "oh Jesus" and got gloves to put on. They were no where short enough to warrant that attitude. She acted like she was rushing me to pick a color when I only walked up to pick one less than a minute before. She also kept yanking on my legs & I have a torn Mencius in one of those knees! Let me start by saying this was a great first experience for me. One of my coworkers convinced me to go to the spa and I am glad I did. After listening to the wonderful experience, I get online and check to see what they offer. I went with The Gentleman's Afternoon Escape. My visit was in early October 2012. I walk in 15 minutes before my appointment to complete the paperwork and after that off to the back i go. Went to the lockerroom to get robed and then off for the 1 hour relaxtion massage. The ambience was everything i imagined. Low lighting, soft soothing music and comfortable, heated tables. I was able to clear my mind of all the stress that goes along with life. The masseuse was wonderful. On to the 1 hour facial. Again same ambience different room. The esthetician was great also. She started with a cleansing and exfoliation followed with a mask that stayed on for a while. She made me aware of all the products she was using and what they were for. After applying the mask, she leaves the room and at this point im so relaxed, that i fall asleep. After the facial I go back to the lockerroom to get dressed because I had to go out the common area for the Pure Fiji Manicure. This place would have gotten 5 stars if I could have gotten my manicure in the same ambiance as the other services, but the mani was still great . It was a bit noisy because the area was next to the hair salon and people were coming and going. Overall, great experience and will more than likely go back. read more

The services I have received at Goulds, i.e. Massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures that my wife and I have received have been good but my review is not about the services which have been few because I have a really hard time getting appointments. When I call for a massage they tell me not the first several days or sometimes weeks I mention are unable because they only have one therapist that day or no therapist at all. When My wife calls to make an appointment for a manicure and pedicure they tell her they can't do both of them in the same day. I'm sure I speak for many people when I say that when Women want and have time for a manicure and pedicure they want them the same day. This has been terrible trying to get appointments with Goulds in Olive Branch. Today was the last time we will try to schedule appointments with Goulds. We'll save time and go elsewhere. read more

Despite my sincerest efforts of cordiality and remorse for cancelling my appointment, she 1) refused to speak to me, leaving me wondering if my phone had randomly died, 2) spoke very curtly with me regarding my cancelled appointment, and 3) hung up on me after I expressed my wishes for her to have a nice day. I spent months growing out my hair only to have it butchered by this place. There are huge chunks missing on the sides. The woman just picked up large pieces of hair and instead of cutting the ends she just started cutting with the scissors pointed up the same direction as hair and whacking into my hair with no abandon. It is completely different lengths on each side, the huge gaps of hair missing. I am so mad I can't see straight. I live an hour away and didn't see what a terrible job she did till I got home. Now I have to drive all the way back in town to show them tomorrow and I am sure they will do nothing. My hair is ruined. NEVER GO TO PLACE. They had my appointment all messed up in the computer.
