This place always looks so promising because their food looks amazing, but I feel like it just always falls flat for us. We've tried it so many times because it's soooo popular, but unfortunately, it's just not our favorite. I ordered the avocado toast, and it was way too lemony for me. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I just don't think lemon and avocado are a good combo. Everyone else in my group felt pretty much the same about their food... it was all just okay and didn't really feel worth the price. The food is fantastic. The service at the American Fork location, however, is a very different story. If you're planning to dine there, make sure you don't have any pressing commitments afterward. On both of our visits, we spent an extraordinary amount of time simply waiting to be acknowledged. During our most recent visit, our group sat at a table right in the middle of the restaurant and could have driven all the way to the Draper location in the time it took for a server to notice we were there. We initially assumed the experience was a one-time issue, so we gave the American Fork location a second chance a few months later. Unfortunately, it was almost identical to the first visit. The pace of service was painfully S...L...O...W... The time from when we sat down until we got the special priviledge of actually ordering: 25 minutes! In contrast, the Draper location has consistently been a much better experience and appears to be managed far more efficiently. I'm glad they've expanded into American Fork, and the food certainly makes the restaurant worth visiting. I just hope they can improve their service processes so customers can enjoy a great meal without needing to set aside half their day to do it. read more

I love coming to this location for its food/drink variety and ambiance. The service here is so nice and helpful, the blueberry cloud latte is delicious and they have milk alternatives for those who prefer. You can use the drive through or dine in, both have been amazing for me and my family! They are accommodating and communicative, i love coming here. My husband and i were visiting from nyc. And found this place about 5 minutes from or hotel. Its a beautiful french inspired pastry shop with that classic beautiful black and white inlayed flooring wood top tables brightly lit. A cute spot for a coffee date. It had a beautiful glass display of all thier goodies. The staff were very warm and inviting. So we ordered a passion fruit layered cake a croissant guava pastry and a lemon tart . Of the 3 the best was the guava pastry. But every thing we ordered lacked fruit or fruit flavor. The lemon tart the filling tasted more of egg. Im not sure of it was a lemon pastry cream or a mix of pastry cream with curd but it lacked the lemon tartness and the pastry crust its self was thick and was probably made with shortning it lacked that buttery flavor. I've been to Gourmandise many times. I have mixed feelings about them because their desserts really are the best in Utah but their food is just alright and some are below average... Maybe it's because I had the fries to-go. After a 10-minute drive, they were soggy, which I'm usually fine with, but they tasted bland. Even with the garlic aioli, the overall taste and texture was just not for me. The crisped cauli florets were very oily. My husband couldn't tell he was eating fried cauliflower. I've had deep-fried cauliflower before and loved them, so I hope to see Gourmandise make them less oily along with some modifications to elevate the taste. We enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip most. It was rich in flavor. The avocado toast was SO sour. They added way too much lemon juice to it. Looking at the menu again now, it says it includes one side, but I think they forgot about it. (The fries I got were from "My Honey's not really hungry.") Still giving them 4-star even though their food is 3-star but desserts are 5.5! Super cute, little cafe. Our waitress was super sweet. I ordered the grilled salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce was a little overpowering, but it was easy to eat around it. My SIL got the fried lasagna which is on the seasonal menu, that's on their website, and she loved it. We also found that kids under 12 eat free after 5pm. This was my first time eating at the gourmandise restaurant side and I wasn't really sure what to expect. The bakery has always been a hit with my coworkers and so I wanted to see what the hype was about. Things I Loved: It's a beautiful little place to eat and the outdoor seating is stunning during the summer/spring evenings. The food was pretty good and was more upscale than a normal sit down in the area. The desserts are so fancy and absolutely delicious. I will be going back just for those! The food was definitely lighter and didn't leave me feeling weighed down. Things I Didn't Care For: All dishes and appetizers (especially starters) were high in price and smaller portions than I expected. There also wasn't a lot of clarification on specific ingredients in the dishes and I feel that trying to customize entrées was difficult (but could be done if you asked a lot of questions, though an up charge may be issued). The separation of bakery and restaurant is nice for those just wanting the bakery items but for those eating who also want a dessert, there is no menu so it felt a bit awkward. Refills are not free. Some other friends who tried the spot got charged per refill for their sodas (not sure about alcoholic beverages but probably the same). The dishes were good, but not the flavors we expected (like the ranch was spicier and had lots of dill flavoring which I didn't know or expect). Overall: It's a beautiful experience, but as someone who has a smaller budget, I will stick with going to the bakery every so often and finding a restaurant that really hits home when i'm looking to satisfy a fancier dinner palette. read more

Gourmandise has the best desserts. Their seasonal pistachio spiral croissants are to die for. The filling was rich and creamy. Once I had the first bite, I could not stop eating it. Really wish they could have the pistachio flavor all year long! I also tried the chocolate hazelnut spiral croissant. What a fun little spot in UT that feels like an escape from our little valley. This upscale dining spot offers gourmet brunch, lunch, and dinners and has buzzing cafe energy to it. My group couldn't help but notice that the whole staff has a sort of brooding charm about them that adds to European feel. The menu has a good variety of interesting ideas and I enjoyed my food. The combo of hollandaise sauce, brisket, and a scone was exciting but my side of potato's was a bit boring and I ended up asking for ketchup. THE DESSERTS. What a fun and beautiful display they are! I'll often stop here for lunch when I'm in this part of the valley and have on roughly a monthly basis for several years. The food is very good (I think I've tried nearly everything on their lunch menu), although imho the servings are at times a bit small when considering the prices. The frites are definitely overpriced and not worth the additional charge. The service is excellent, attentive and professional, generally some of the best in the valley. The interior is casual, bright, naturally lit, and pleasant albeit a bit crowded at times. It's not uncommon to share the space with families and groups of co-workers. There have been days when I have been the only male dining and this seems to have become a prestige lunching spot for affluent zillenial females. On several of those occasions the atmosphere has been cold and, on occasions, verged on hostile, although this is completely beyond the restaurant's control. To the best of my knowledge Gourmandise has a corner on authentic French pastry in Utah county. They are generally excellent, but on the pricey side, and after extensive sampling, I'm not sure all of them are made fresh daily. Better pastry can be found in SLC, and at comparable or lower prices, but only worthwhile if you're up for a drive up I-15. I like Gourmandise and its staff, and I plan to continue to dine here as the opportunities arise, but the caveats I've mentioned are worthy of note. read more

This had the Brussels sprout app which was divine. The herbed whipped cream cheese was so fluffy! Rich and the perfect amount of comfy for a winter day. Entree went with the niçoise which I wouldn't probably get again, but it was still tasty. Probably a 3.5/5 for me. Came here for a Sunday brunch with the lady. Staff was friendly, nice location. My wife got the Butternut squash pasta. She's a die hard butternut squash ravioli fan, she didn't love this as much as the raviolis we've had before but definitely a high quality dish. I got the breakfast croissant and it was extraordinarily flakey but was honestly overwhelmingly buttery IMO. Solid restaurant choice, high quality ingredients, will be back and try some more dishes. Since I knew the food wasn't great going in this last time I just ordered eggs and bacon with my coffee and pastry. The scrambled eggs seriously looked and tasted like the powdered eggs you get at a continental breakfast. The bacon listed as "local bacon" was so burnt I sent it back. They come around and fill your water or give you a bottle of water for the table. I ventured out and tried the blueberry grilled cheese. It sounds really odd but why not. It was really good a different combination of sweet and savory. It's not my go too but worth a shot. My friend had the steak salad which is her staple because it's the best steak salad and you can't beat the cost. We split a marzipan slice. It was a seasonal flavor it was good but too sweet. I'm glad they had oatmilk though. Additionally it came with a small bag of chips and a small cup of a side salad. Unfortunately I was too full to eat the side quinoa salad. I also bought a le crookie cookie croissant. This was expensive and it was not that good. Heavy and too rich. I couldn't eat much so I took I home and it solidified into an inedible chunk when I got home so I had to throw it away. So the burritos is a 5/5; the coffee a 4/5, the le crookie though is a 2/5.
