I wanted to believe, but it wasn't meant to be. We came here for lunch with some friends and opted to sit outside taking in the sun. Our server wasn't on the ball and kind of wandered back and forth. We ordered our drinks but it took him over 20 mins to bring them to us. One of the drinks ordered included a glass of white wine. My wine wasn't delivered cold or chilled but closer to room temperature. He didn't even bother to replace it. Who makes a panini with shredded cheese? well, apparently they do. The wifey and i were both disappointed with the paninis. My chicken panini with chipotle mayo wasn't that good. The grilled chicken was cold and as i said before they used shredded cheddar cheese which doesnt melt evenly and it clumps up.They also used shredded mozzarella cheese on my wifeys tomato and basil sandwich. Yummy! My friend and I just returned from lunch here. I had a goat cheese/roasted red pepper sandwich with a side of broccoli salad. The sandwich bread was a little hard to bite through as it is super-crusty on the ourtside, but it was still yummy. The broccoli salad was interesting - it had small pieces of bacon, chopped red onion and a light white dressing, possibly some sort of mayo dressing? I was a little dismayed to see the sandwiches were premade, but the ingredients still seemed really fresh and flavorful, so they must prepare them frequently. My friend had the caprese sandwich - she too thought the bread was a bit crusty, but still tasty. The staff was super nice and attentive. We shared a chocolate chip cookie which was freshly baked and very good. I can't wait too try something new next time I go - maybe the mac n' cheese, or one of the daily quiches... The chicken chipotle pannini and avocado is wonderful. The cheese was melted onto the chicken so perfectly. It was as if the cheese was giving the chicken such a warm hug that the chicken oozed out flavors of joy. If you can, try to get the mashed potatoes. My goodness those mashed potatoes are dangerous. The staff is always so happy. They smile, I smile, the chicken smiles, the cheese smiles, oh god we are all so happy. read more

What can I say?...Gail had me at the mac & cheese....but then I had the chicken pesto panini....and the make-your-own omelet...and the vegetable lasagna...and now I'm addicted. Yes..i said it. I've got that Gourmet A Go Go monkey on my back. This is seriously as good as it gets. Love the specials, the selection and the fact that you can sit at the counter and chat up Gail while you are getting your grub on. No time to cook? Gail's did an amazing job on our catering needs for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding. This lady can cook! And she absolutely knows what she's doing with catering too. It's no wonder that she came highly recommended by locals and other event professionals. For our rehearsal dinner, she made herb and cheese crusted chicken, a delicious vegetable lasagna, mixed green salad with cranberries, bleu cheese and balsamic vinaigrette (normally comes with nuts, but I requested no nuts). Our little party of 60 loved every bite! Impressing some of the ladies who cook is no easy task! For our wedding, Gail's has a steady list of foods she prepares, but is a great collaborator. We had a New Orleans theme to our wedding and she whipped up: Mini Muffeletas, Shrimp and Andouille skewers, Monte Cristo sandwiches (if you haven't tried one, do so NOW), mini tacos (i know, not southern, but it's So Cal!) and beignets! Did I mention that she also put out an amazing spread of crudite, cheese and fruit? All our wedding guests said it was some of the best food they've ever had 1. at a wedding and 2. in general. My wife and I visited this eatery last night, Halloween. It's apparently been renamed Gail's Bistro, with the same menu as published on the Gourmet A Go Go website. I had the Chicken, Chipotle, Avocado, Tomato and Cheddar panini for $8. It came with a side salad, which was a serving of the Baby Greens with Nuts, Cranberries and Blue Cheese listed separately as an entree, also for $8, which my wife had. The portion size of salad given me with the sandwich was small, and about the same size as that given my wife. While the panini plus salad was of acceptable size and quality for the price, the entree salad was definitely not. What a ripoff. She didn't even get a roll or a piece of bread with it and was hungry again in no time. From this one experience, I can't recommend this restaurant by whatever name it calls itself. read more

Had the mozzarella panini and loved it. The place is not a full fledged restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. For $8.00 I expected at least a small salad but got the panini on a plate with nothing else. Masa in Echo Park at least gives you a real nice salad for about a buck more. I sat at the bar/counter so the service was pretty quick, but the owners were at the bar planning their menu on a laptop and that seemed to be the priority. Speaking of the menus there seemed to be too many versins. There was a breakfast version then a panini version then a 3rd risotto menu poped out. read more

Gail catered our event for 60 people yesterday and I am still getting phone calls, emails, and texts about the wonderful food! She did an absolutely amazing job and her staff of three was outstanding. Gourmet A Go Go is a VERY professional catering company and offer menus at extremely reasonable prices. CANT BELIEVE NO ONE REVIEWED THIS PLACE! the food taste very homemade-fresh-healthy and JUST REALLY GOOD! i tried their soups: chicken corn chowder&tomato! both good but corn chowder is a litttle better. their salad with candied walnuts-dried cranberries-blue cheese, curried chicken(nuts-dried cranberries-apples) basil tomato mozz. cheese sandwhich, macaroni and cheese and turkey meatloaf! We just enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner for 25 delivered to our home exactly as agreed, per food selections (including a special item for our sole vegetarian), delivery, set-up (including chafing dishes), and timing. We loved the turkey, the ham was tasty (next time I might ask Gail to send it in slices); the stuffing and cranberry sauce were delicious. I too ordered the full entree mixed green salad ($8) with chicken ($3 more) and could not believe how small it was. It was roughly the same size as the "side" that came with my wife's entree. It was so small I asked the "server" if perhaps she gave me a side salad by mistake. She said it was correct, at which point the owner came over and apologized repeatedly and insisted it was the wrong salad. She brought me much larger salad. So, the question is... which is it??? It is a tasty salad, no doubt. Do you just have to ask? read more

I just wanted to let people know that Friday night at Gourmet a go go is lots of fun. We started the evening wine tasting with 'Bruce'. Very knowledgeable. Fun to pick his brain. Then we paired the wine up with one of the RISOTTO NIGHT specials. We just took our time and enjoyed the people watching. What a great location.
