Gabi who was our on site manager was terrific through out the entire day and trust me it was a long one. The team is able to handle last minute pivots from an almost canceled event to a modified one. We did a hybrid of drop of catering for breakfast featuring breakfast burritos, frittatas and so much more followed by a station filled dinner and everything was fantastic ESPECIALLY THE PASTA, which was my personal favorite. Katie made everything super easy--helped me figure out the right amount of food and got everything locked in without any stress. The delivery driver (wish I had gotten his name!) was also so fun and helpful--he mentioned he runs the farm for the company, which was such a cool detail. Wow! I had never heard of this place, but apparently they're famous and local, located in Lomita! I needed food for a birthday party w some 15 guests coming and the other person forgot to order, so I sent quotes to two other places who never got back to me but Bites & Bashes did! Event was on Sunday and I spoke to Bites & Bashes late Friday afternoon. We agreed on the vegan menu w/an hour and by Sunday everything was ready and beautifully presented! I was really impressed cuz they came through for me! Food was delicious and one of my guests said they usually do big caterings for political fundraisers so no wonder the price was a bit high. I'm just upset I didn't get to take any pictures of the food cuz I was too busy hosting but my guests really enjoyed it! The good: I got catering from here for 15 people for my baby shower. 15 people is the minimum order for many of their pre-set menus. I was able to book them for my event that was occurring in less than a week away. I liked the variety of menu options there were that ranged from different international cuisines like Italian to Korean. I got the Spanish menu which included paprika chicken, grilled vegetables, patatas bravas, and ensalada verde. I opted to add beef empanadas. They also have cocktails and non-alcoholic drink options. My husband and I agreed that the chicken was the star of the show. It had a delicious sauce and it wasn't dry. It was very tender. We rarely think chicken stands out so this was a huge surprise to us! It was very delicious. My second favorite was the salad. The vinaigrette was great, the presentation was beautiful and everything was fresh. The grilled vegetables were also seasoned well. The trays were nicely arranged with vent holes and I loved that they even had little placards with labels. I'd easily cater with them again! I was surprised how fully sized the empanadas were. The portion sizes for everything was very nice and accurate. The bad: There's a 10% service charge and a minimum of $800 spending to get delivery. We didn't realize there was chimichuri sauce for the empanadas until after half of the empanadas were already eaten. The sauce was a little on the salty side. My husband came at 10:20 to pickup the food (as I had told them we would) but the food wasn't ready at the time he came. However, they were very nice about it and offered him coffee while he waited.
