This place was unacceptable & felt misleading from the start. We booked through Expedia & were never told there was a strict "no visitors" policy. At check-in, we were handed a contract to sign, and buried in it were nine words: "only registered guests would be allowed in the room." That was never explained to us, and it was not clear that it meant no visitors could even briefly stop by. But we were already locked in because we had used a third party and had already paid and the manager said he would not reimburse us. We have stayed in hundreds of hotels and have never encountered a rule like this. We traveled from Minnesota and booked a large 452 sq ft room with a large sofa and table/chairs specifically so we could have a few longtime friends visit for a couple of hours. At 8:30 p.m., those 4 adults met us outside near the pool. At 9:00 p.m., the manager came out & rudely told everyone they had to leave because the pool was closing. We understood that part. Just not how rude he was about it. However, when we invited our friends up to the room afterward to continue visiting, we were told they were not allowed anywhere on the property because of the "registered guests only" clause. The manager threatened to keep our $80 deposit if we didn't comply, leaving us no choice but to end the visit. One of those guests received a tow warning sticker on his car after being parked there for less than 30 minutes. The property was almost empty the entire time we were there, so it was not as if parking space was limited or needed for paying guests. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. The lack of transparency, hostile management behavior, and poor conditions made the stay unacceptable. We would not recommend this property to anyone. read more

I liked that the location was near the airport. I was easily able to pick my friend up from the airport the following day. Following a 10-11 hour drive with no sleep, my children and I crashed out after arriving at the hotel. Upon waking up, we realized that the room was filthy. The sheets had stains and the blanket had crusty residue that appeared to be regurgitated food. I could tell the stains were fresh due to the fact that they had a scent and the stains would lift upon wiping with a wet towel. I did take pictures so that the hotel couldn't deny these accusations (as they have other reviews on Google). The staff was combative when confronted and basically blamed me for the room's condition do to an early check-in. The woman -who refused to give her name, printout of the extra charges, and refused to allow me to speak with a manager- claimed that the room (209) had been "running for a few days." Meaning that they didn't properly clean the room between guests. That's disgusting. Previous guests could be ill. Previous guests could do drugs and leave remanence of fentanyl, ect.. i'm pretty sure the stains on the sheets had dead skin cells. I had two infants and two small children with me. This is not acceptable. Never, before, have I lodged a complaint against a hotel. Because I booked my stay through a third party I submitted a complaint through them. They, the third party, contacted the hotel on my behalf, and apparently were met with a non-compliant, hostile woman who refused to give her name and refused to disclose the managements phone number. According to the third party agent, the concierge was unpleasant. The female concierge hung up on the agent multiple times, stating that the room was clean, even when confronted with evidence and documentation -I took pictures and recorded the conversation when I first confronted the front desk, who claimed to be "lower management"-. I will be contacting my bank to receive a charge back. Luckily, customers have rights and because I took pictures, documented my times and interactions, and because Oklahoma is a one party consent state I should have all that I need to prove my claims. I would recommend that the readers look up all the one and two star reviews for this hotel. They are pretty consistent. I would also like to point out that the management is combative towards every negative review that has been posted. That tells you a lot about the integrity of this establishment. I would recommend that you spend your money elsewhere. You will be provided with better, cleaner, safer accommodations for less money at a better managed establishment. My King Suit was large and clean but in need of painting. Non-Smoking room had evidence of being smoked in, but the room did not smell at all. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I thought that all of the riffraff was located closer to the I-40 and north of the river, but I was wrong! The hotel has ZERO security cameras on the outside of the building, which equals ZERO deterrent for theft or vandalism! I parked in front of the window of my 1st floor room with the darkening curtains open, and my car was in full view from the bed. My car was vandalized with a broken front passenger window without anything being stolen, resulting in an additional $200 to replace the glass and tint. I notified the front desk and was told to park in the front of the hotel. I actually really enjoyed my 5 day stay at Governors Suits Hotel. However, in the future, I will spend the extra $20 a day to stay at a safer location. It would've saved me $100 without the hassle of fixing my vehicle. read more

It was decent Front Desk was rude when we first arrived, asked for extra towels when we arrived and refused to give us more. Couldn't get anymore until maid service came by the next day. The ceiling in the main lobby has water damage and has paint hanging from the ceiling. The paper plates for breakfast were those cheap styrofoam crappy ones. The TV Connection kept going in and out. Had requestd a late checkout through the booking website, it got approved, but the hotel wouldn't allow the late check out. read more

Visited 2/12/2020 Close to the airport this place is fantastic. The rooms are huge and the beds are fantastic. Standard king room has a great little living room with refrigerator and microwave and a nice sofa. There's a Fantastic Jacuzzi and also a good size sauna room. They have a great indoor courtyard with a great morning breakfast included. I stayed here twice now and wouldn't hesitate staying here again anytime I'm in Oklahoma City. There are plenty of good restaurants and cocktail lounges nearby. If one was attached to this fine establishment I probably would've gave them five stars. Highly recommended. read more

Stayed here while visiting my partner's family. The interior is very gorgeous inside. I arrived in the evening and it was busy. Due to it being across from a country bar. The rooms are average. Most of the items in there are a bit outdated. Bathtub and toilet are in one room while the wash area..sink and mirror are outside. Toilet can be updated. I say that because to make sure it fully flushes, you have to hold it down until you hear it flush or else someone next would be in for a nasty surprise. read more

Check in was easy. Outside landscaping and building maintenance were well maintained. All staff was so hospitable. The room was spacious. Furniture so well polished that you could see your reflection in it. You can tell it's an older building but there's nothing that screams 2nd rate about this hotel There's an outside pool at the back of the hotel. A hot tub and sauna area also located on site. There is a decent breakfast buffet. It's fairly quiet for being across the street from a bar and down the road from the airport. We'll stay here again when we come back to OKC read more

They took our deposit because my best friend and I washed our makeup off with their washcloths that they provided us with (standard toiletry?) We were told that we ruined them. The makeup washes out after being put in the washing machine. I wish I could post the video of the front desk lady that co-operates this establishment. This is such a cute place to stay! Granted it is a little dated and there are some repairs that need to be done but the hotel is clean and the customer service is very nice. Continental breakfast is the same as other hotels, it was very well stocked and clean. Due to a change of plan and it was raining , we didn't get a chance to try the pool, hot tub or the sauna but they looked very clean when we did look at them. The only downfall I would say is they only offered small toiletries such as tiny bar soap, body lotion and shampoo enough for one person. If you need conditioner or more shampoo and toiletries, you may have to bring your own. If I ever come back to OKC, I will stay here again. read more

This hotel is a great deal! The rooms are very large and clean and the buffet breakfast is just as good as other more expensive hotels. The suites also have a large mini fridge and microwave. Our room had two (2) queen sized beds and a couch in the sitting area. The lobby area is very nice and has an open atrium (think Embassy Suites). We stayed here over the labor day weekend and were not sure what to expect, but it was a great experience. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We had a belligerent guest fighting in the room next to us, yelling and banging the walls all night long. We contacted the front desk 4 times to try to get the situation handled. They basically brushed us off and nothing was done, not even offering to let us change rooms. We got absolutely no sleep at all and they refused to let me speak to management. I have attempted to contact management multiple times since leaving because I was so angry with this experience and he refuses to speak to me on the phone, always has an excuse on why he is unavailable. I understand that the hotel has no way of knowing which guests could become violent, but they handled this horribly. The hotel is right across the street from a busy country club so imagine this experience happens more often than not, but the hotel apparently does not care about other guests. read more

It's a pretty average place to stay. I had never stayed here before so the drive to the hotel was off-putting. The surroundings aren't very pretty. It looks like you will be staying in a bad part of town, right up until you get to the hotel. The exterior of the hotel is actually nice. It looks like it doesn't belong in the area it's in. Our room was spacious. Bigger than most hotels I've stayed in for the price ($65 a night via Expedia). The walls in the bathroom were poorly painted though, and the bathtub had permanent stains on the outside what looked like crayon marks but I'm not sure. At least the inside was clean. Room service was off-site, an independent company not affiliated with the hotel, which was odd to me and also made delivery take way too long. Other than that I have no other major complaints. The staff was nice and the hotel is only a few mins from Chesapeake Stadium and the malls. If I went back to OKC, this wouldn't be my first choice of hotels, though. However, it's definitely now on my "comfort zone" list! read more

This is one of those reviews where you can't think of anything good to say so you just dive right in and let them have it. I travel there [OK City] on business at least three times a year. In fact I've stayed at the Governors Suites a few years back, it used to be called Governors Inn however it's under new management. None the less they screwed the reservation I made 5 weeks in advance and never booked a room. Since I had a conformation number they scrambled to try and make it right. Part of my trip includes booking a rental care through the hotel as well. You guessed it, they screwed that up as well, thankfully Hertz remedied the problem. The walls of the room were dirty, and the carpet must be about 15 years old. Even if they do vacuum it every day it still looks grungy to a point were your not sure if you want to walk on it barefoot. The shower was OK, but the rest of the plumbing horrible. The toilet would fully flush about every 3rd try and had a toilet seat that wasn't even close to the the one that would normally fit. The bed was OK but as I do in all hotels, the spread, top blankets, and decorative pillow(s) all get stripped off because they never wash them. I Lysoled every square centimeter of this room just so I could get through the stay. They offer a "free" hot breakfast in the morning but the food pretty much sucked; you know, greasy bacon, dry scrambled eggs, something they call sausage, etc. If you're OK with that you still have a problem, they were always out of one or two of the items. I guess they would make "X" amount of each one and if it ran out, nobody else would get fed. The coffee was the same way, always out of regular coffee! In fact I don't think they ever had any regular coffee the whole time I was there, sure the decaff was plentiful but I don't drink it. I'm convinced they were just not serving all the food and coffee, they started serving at 06:00, I would come down at 06:45 and it would all be gone. At that time there was never anymore than 4 other people in the dinning room. Oh I almost forgot, there is one elevator in the place and when the door closes inside you see graffiti. It's a glass elevator inside the lobby next to the front desk. You think somebody might see these assholes scratching this crap onto the door? None the less the least the hotel could do is clean it up. I could go on but I'll spare you the gruesome details. Will I stay at this place during future trips, hell no! read more

The rooms are very clean, spacious and have a decent sized little fridge. Can't complain about the free breakfast. The lobby area has a really cool vintage feel to it. It is a decent hotel, the last on a strip of hotels. It is not the Hilton but it is DEFINITELY not a Motel 8 we've encountered... It is a hotel that appears to have been bought and renovated. BUT it is a nice hotel. The staff is friendly. The lobby is nice with a skylight that lightens the courtyard nicely. The hot breakfast is the typical scrambled eggs, sausage, breads, waffles, and juices. During our stay, the pool was closed because of seasonal reasons and the hot tub jacuzzi just seemed odd so we didn't use it. Our room was upgraded to an executive suite upon asking. It has two beds in separate rooms. A full and a king. Two t.v.s. One bathroom with a deep whirlpool tub and a view, of the hotel next door. Of course, we are in a city on a strip, so what can one really expect for views... The price is right with this hotel. And we would recommend this hotel. Our only complaint is the WIFI is dreadfully slow. It took 15 minutes to get from the log on, get to this page and eventually get to write a review and that is no joke. Think of 1990s dial-up speed that cuts out when someone calls and then comes back on again intermittently.. It constantly goes off and on. That kind of wifi... No streaming. But free wifi it is... However, we WOULD come back to this hotel if passing through OKC again.WiFi aside, it is still a good hotel at a reasonable price.. read more

We loved our stay at the Governors Suites. I found the review on Yelp and we called ahead to ask if they had a room available. When we were checking in the lobby looked so festive and smelled so good. The receptionist was friendly and explained all of the amenities to us. We were on the first floor and the room was exactly like the other reviews described as spacious. There was so much room for our bags and enough outlets to use our computers and charge our phones. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. The shower pressure was excellent and the water warmed quickly. There was shampoo, soap and lotion but no conditioner. The towels were thick and fluffy and not thin. We had a nice breakfast of bacon, sausage, tater tots, scrambled eggs. gravy, yogurt and biscuits. There were bagels, waffles, two types of bread, muffins and sweet rolls. There were apples, oranges, peanut butter, and a variety of toppings for the eggs and an apple topping for the waffles. The value was excellent and they accepted our AAA card to deduct an additional 10%. We travel often and this was one of my favorite place to stay! Great job Governors Suites!!! We got the keys to go into our hotel room and didn't expect it to be that spacious, it was really nice! During the day, there were a few construction workers outside and it was a bit noisy but by night time.. They were gone and we got to sleep peacefully. We had the chance to eat breakfast from 6-9 but we slept so good and didn't hear our alarm until 9 and breakfast was already over. The price was also very reasonable. Newly remodeled. Beds are nice but more on the firm side. Has flat screen tv, microwave, small fridge/freezer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board in room. Larger than most hotel rooms as they have a couchbed, coffee table and a small two person dining table. Pretty cold a.c. Only in room negatives are the tub drain was slow so you end up standing in two inches of water when you shower. Also, it looks like paint in a few places was rushed as it had some run marks and chips. In room WiFi is a little slow. Dl speeds of about 1.5 mbps. Complimentary breakfast was average. Usually had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, toast, bagels, make your own waffles, cereal, milk, coffee, o.j., and apple juice. Exercise room had a couple ellipticals, a treadmill, exercise bike and a weight machine. It also has the coin operated laundry. $1.50 per load. Detergent and fabric softener was $1. There are a few restaurants in walking distance but most require you to walk down a fairly steep 5ft embankment. No sidewalks or crosswalks in the immediate area so walking can be irritating. Stayed here when we were in town with a family member in the hospital. This hotel is beautiful! The staff was friendly and helpful, giving us directions to local stores and restaurants. It was very convenient to have a washer and dryer right on-site and my husband was impressed with the versatility of the workout room. Loved, loved, loved the hot breakfast! REAL scrambled eggs, home fries, biscuits and gravy and make your own waffles and of course the standard cereal, Danish and waffles.
