You could send your passport to the Vietnam embassy and they could do it for less but... they're in Ottawa. You'd have to put your passport in the mail which would make me too nervous. Once you pay for a more secure method of delivery, price doesn't make a difference anyway. So enter Vietnam Travel Centre where I just submitted my documentation online and it was done within a week. No problems, no issues. The only thing is when I went to pick it up they were almost closed and they didn't know where the Visa was because the person who was dealing with it left already. They wanted me to come back the next day but that would be out of the way. Finally they were able to call the person and then I got it no problem. The $90 for this slip of paper was cheaper than other travel agencies wanting $100-$120. In the end I got in and out of Vietnam no problem so it was legit!

It is by far one of the smallest places you'll find with almost no way to recognize it as it does not stick out from it's surrounding stores at all! They barely have any advertising or signage outside and they definitely don't have any colorful displays of anything that will draw your attention to them, but that being said, it is everything on the inside that counts; from a travel agency stand point, that is referring to their staff. Our family has been planning a vacation to Japan in Asia and a friend in Richmond recommended someone by the name of Elsa to us that works at EDA. She is a wonderful person with a definite heart that is willing to work out anything and everything for your traveling needs. She helped us organize all our travel plans from flight, taxi, tours, and hotels without a single bit of pressure. She even continued to help us shop for deals AFTER hotels have already been booked. So even after reserving hotels, she would send us information for a cheaper and better hotels around the same area, then proceed to help us do all the paper work. Our trip isn't due till mid-May, but judging from the attention to detail, friendly staff, and no pressure attitude, this trip is already looking pretty great! If you're looking for a Chinese travel agency and around the Richmond area, give this place a shot, or maybe just walk in and ask for information so you can judge their service yourself. There are all the major banks in this area and when I needed to exchange currency I would go wait in line at the bank. Then one day as I sat relaxing in Oak Ridge I saw the small exchange booth at the front of Marlin Travel. Since their main service is currency exchange this is the first place I would go if I need any type of currency. If you need an unusually large amount I would call ahead to be sure, but as mentioned there are enough banks in the area you can get what you need. Everytime I use their currency exchange it takes less than two minutes and that is not exaggerating. This location is directly inside of the 41st St entrance on the right past the White Spot.
