I think it's really cool, so I used the Yelp Projects tool to aid me in locating a professional auto glass company to replace my windshield. I received a few quotes with varying prices and couldn't decide, therefore I also did a Google search of reviews of the various places to help me make my decision of where to take my vehicle. GP, which is 45 mins away from my home, and an hour in traffic from my work, quoted me a flat rate with parts and labor included, which was $20 more than a shop in my neighborhood. The removal and install was fast, and the gentleman was very professional. My bill was actually $20 more than the flat rate quoted. Therefore, I ended up paying $40 more than I would have paid had I gone to a local shop, 1hour 45 mins driving, and a 1/4 tank of gas. Pricey lesson learned. However, I'm grateful that my windshield is fixed before winter. I recommend this location for folks who live in the area. It's clean with a comfortable waiting room. Also, if you're low in cash, make sure you know that "flat rate" doesn't mean the same to everyone. We encountered a rock hitting the windshield of our car while traveling. Great Price Auto Glass was the only company that we could find in the Detroit area that was able to help us in a timely way. We had great service from Rami, who took me through the insurance process, found the right windshield and met us on a Sunday morning to do the work. I have a late model car with a good amount of electronics in the windshield. Rami was very meticulous in disassembling the wind shield with all the electronics and plastic parts.
