I have been using Gerardo for 5 years now. Communication has always been bad, but I just let it slide because I liked him as a person and he seemed to do a decent job. However, it seems he has disappeared after our last meeting and I was supposed to meet with him this week per our last meeting in November. His phones are not ringing, emails are not being delivered and going unanswered, and the portal that I communicate with him through doesn't seem to be going to him. 2023 - My beautiful wife and I have employed more than our share of Accountants, CPA's, or Type A personalities to mitigate our culpability to the IRS's red taped, taxing machine. "Bro, TRRRUST ME... MY guy, he'll get you sorted out proper. Just, keep it between us. I don't want him to get too busy to do my tax returns (accented by a nod, elbow nudge, or a non to sly wink)." Long story short -- FIRED every fricken finger lickin' time. I can't even count how many times we've actually filed amended returns on our own to include things the CPA missed, overlooked or just didn't have time to ask us about. This cat, Gerardo... He's beginning to make me a believer. No - seriously, the thought of trusting someone to do our taxes makes me suspicious and uncomfortable. So, the fact that I'm a card carrying member of the GR Accounting #1 Fan Club will hopefully tell you something. Not that I'm ready to move down to South America and declare him the resurrected embodiment of Master Yoda, while becoming one with the force by sippin' on a pint of dark side roasted, iced CAF flavoured kool-aid. Gerardo is young, he's friendly, he's sharper than the exacto knife sitting in the tool box you never open, he asks a lot of pertinent questions and lets you answer WITHOUT interrupting. That last bit alone should garner him national recognition. GERARDO HAS NICE TEETH. No, I mean he's got Disney prince (or princess) brilliantly blinding, super-glossy, sassy, shiny, white teeth. Plus he's got that sort of boy-ish charm, that's young and idealistic. Initial consult resulted in possibly getting more information and a copy of the proposal/contract. That was on 03/25/24. On 03/27/24, informed GR (Geraldo R) that nothing had been received. Same-day, GR responded with "I'll look into it." It is now 04/24/24 and still no follow up. Gerardo does not respond to emails or calls, and kept brushing me off and pushing back the date he estimated he would complete the work. Gerardo made mistakes populating tax info from several of my tax forms, and when asked about it blamed the layout of the forms, or anything other than acknowledging that it was his error. Gerardo's prices were reasonable, but next time I'll just do it myself. read more

Spoke to Gerardo on the phone and was happy to hear he was able to help me with my taxes! He seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with over the phone. Plus his prices were competitive and reasonable. All I needed was an email to get started. 3 days passed, with a phone call each day and no email from Gerardo. Sent an email, no response. Called again and he picked up on his day off. Said to send him an email so he could forward me the link to start preparing my documents. Again, did not follow through. I had to call again and I asked him if he could actually help me. He said he could and would send me an email right then. Also gave me an estimate to be done with all my taxes by within 3 days. It's been 6 days since and I still am waiting on that email. Overall, I've been playing phone tag for 2 weeks to ultimately realize that he can't help me! Not because he told me, but because I needed to file my taxes and found someone else. I saw other reviews mention a similar experience to my own. My recommendation to the business is to hire additional help with organization, scheduling and follow through. Or to just be honest about not being able to take more clients this season.
