    Floor & Decor

Eight months after my dad passed away, I helped my mom remodel her home, and we trusted Floor &…read moreDecor with a major purchase of over $8,000 in flooring and materials. Big mistake. To be fair, the local service was mediocre at best, but the real disaster started with the product and the sales rep's terrible advice. If I recall correctly, his name was Jared. Jared assured us that the NuCore luxury vinyl flooring we purchased for over $4,800 didn't require a moisture barrier because of its cork backing. Turns out, that was completely false. After installation, we quickly noticed the flooring separating in random spots all over the house. Imagine how devastating it was to see my mom move back into her home after such a difficult time, only for this catastrophe to unfold. When we filed a claim with Floor & Decor, hoping for some resolution, we learned that NuCore is actually their own in-house brand. That's when I knew we were in for a fight. After months of runaround with their so-called customer service, they predictably denied our claim, blaming it on everything except the actual problem. Their excuses? The expansion gap wasn't wide enough, and moisture in the concrete slab caused the issues. Both claims are flat-out lies. As someone with years of DIY flooring experience, I can tell you without hesitation that the real issue is NuCore's defective locking mechanism. It's faulty, plain and simple. But instead of owning up to their subpar product, Floor & Decor is happy to let their customers suffer the consequences while they keep raking in profits. This company clearly has no interest in standing behind their products or taking responsibility for their mistakes. Don't waste your time or money here unless you want to be stuck with a defective product and zero accountability. As a house flipper, I have no intentions of ever shopping there again and would advise anyone to take their hard-earned money elsewhere.

Customer Service is almost non-existent. Last July 2021 I purchased15K worth of kitchen cabinets…read morefrom Cabinets to Go, but was not planning on installing them for sometime, but they were having such a nice Fourth of July Sale. In February we assembled the cabinets with little trouble, but had one cabinet that the front was damaged, we had another cabinet with a damaged part, one cabinet with the wrong part altogether, and of the 45 knobs and pull we received 11 of them are wrong style. I contacted my local store via email and she forwarded it to their corporate headquarters, supposedly, but really to an automated call center, who proceeded to send me a frequent automated emails to say they were working on my case. So then, I've started calling them, first I dealt with whomever they gave me to speak with, but that hasn't gotten me any further. I have repeatedly insisted that I speak to a supervisor, but they refuse. Finally, two months later I'm still waiting and my kitchen cabinet installers who I've had scheduled for months were only able to install half my cabinets. So it will be and extra cost for me to have them come out again... if I ever get the parts I need. BUYER BEWARE!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. We were not advised by any of the salespeople that every…read morepossible mark shows up on black granite, even with protective sealant. We spent thousands on new countertops that now devalue our house. Menzie said they would solve the problem. They didn't, Here's a timeline of their circus: April 12: Installed black granite countertops. April 29: Installed backsplash but could not finish because they had cut the backsplash incorrectly to fit around sink window. May 8: Returned to finish the backsplash. May 9: When electricians came to finish installing outlets, they could not finish because a couple of outlets could not have the plate screwed it since the backsplash was incorrectly cut. May 10: Sent first batch of pictures to the Menzie salesperson about spots and streaks on the counter. She assured me they would disappear once the protective sealant was added. May 17: Someone from Menzie returned to apply the sealant. May 19: After letting the counter dry for two days, the spots and streaks were still there. Any time we put a cup on the counter, it left a mark. Sent the salesperson a new set of pictures. She said she would send the picture to the warranty company and have a manager call me. May 21: Someone from the company called me just before 7 a.m. Asked me when he could come to my house to check the problem. He was there in 20 minutes. He and his assistant rubbed some alcohol on the countertops, then appeared to re-apply sealant. He explained whoever previously came didn't do the job correctly because he didn't account for cooler temperatures. He said wait 2 hours before it dries. I waited 4 hours. Same marks and streaks. Took new batch of pictures, sent to salesperson. Twenty minutes later, manager calls and said he wasn't aware of the problem until a couple of days ago. Promised the problem would be solved. May 29: A two-man crew from Menzie arrived, supposedly uses solvent to alleviate the spots and streaks. One of the crew gets on the phone with the manager. He condescendingly tells me spots and fingerprints will always show on black. "That's why they call it 'fingerprint black'," he said. I told him had I known that we would not have bought black countertops. I asked him why didn't the salesperson tell us that. He said, "Not all of the sales girls know that." Two hours after the crew leaves, the salesperson sends me a bill to pay the remaining balance owed. May 30: I write manager. Tell him we aren't satisfied. Every little mark still shows ip. He writes back Menzie has solved the problem, according to industry standards. AGAIN, DO NOT DEAL with Menzie

However, we had just cleaned the floor before they arrived; there was no damaged floor. When I explained that to the "customer service" representative he basically called me a liar.
