This is one of the very best preschools in the area. It has the spirit of peace. The teachers are amazing.

Covenant is the perfect place to introduce your child to school - it's a loving, caring, happy environment. I love Covenant because it feels like a traditional preschool - it's not overdone, it's not chaotic, it's been the perfect place for my three kids.

My son is in his second year at this sweet school and we simply could not be happier with the quality of education he's receiving and the amazing Christian environment the school provides. I think this school offers such a wonderful balance of structure and play. The teachers at Covenant are truly just outstanding. They are so nurturing, loving and kind...exactly whom you want educating and caring for your children when they are so young. And I just love that my son is not only being prepared for kindergarden, but also learning bible stories and songs. They do so many cute programs throughout the year, too (Halloween, Christmas, Spring, Dad's Night, Mom's Day). My little guy is a typical, very active boy who loves to run, so we also appreciate the fact that this preschool has a gym where the children can run freely, which is especially nice during those long winter months. There's also an adorable outdoor playground they use when the weather's warmer. And I truly appreciate the drop-off / pick-up policy at Covenant: they do a drop-off line where the teachers get your child out of your car for you and return them to your car after school so that parents don't have to leave their vehicles. I simply cannot say enough about this amazing school and definitely recommend it!

As we're approaching the end of the school year, I wanted to share some of my thoughts from the year. He's consistently happy and really enjoys attending the full day program, and as parents, we're thrilled by all the artwork (using this term artwork liberally here) he brings home and the constant communication from the school (they use the Brightwheel app) in the form of photos (several very cute photos every day) and updates (when he eats, how much, diapering times / updates, nap, etc.) The teachers are always happy and smiling at dropoffs and pickups (and so is our son), and we've been very happy with both the quality and consistency of the teachers and the staff. Our little one has developed a bunch over time, as well. He's about to turn two, and has picked up some words and good habits from school - Mandarin (Chinese), Spanish, English, and some basic sign language as well. This has helped him communicate with us better at home as well. I think the school has invested heavily in high quality Montessori toys. Everything is new, and our little one has really enjoyed the diversity of math / language / picture / tactile learning toys. We didn't know what to expect in terms of improvement independence and concentration, and don't know how much of this is the school vs. normal "development," but our little one has definitely picked up and had an opportunity to work on both his independence and concentration skills at school. He can hold his attention span much longer than I would've expected for a kid of this age. He also has his group of "friends," which is hilarious for an almost two year old. I heard that "parallel play" persists through year three of a child's life, but he's always observing and tagging along with his group of friends and it's super cute. I think where this school really shines would be the multilingual component and the overall quality of the staff and teachers. There's a dedicated Spanish speaking teacher and two dedicated Chinese speaking teachers who only speak to the kids in those languages. The staff and teachers have a great balance of competence and compassion. They are excellent communicators (we hear from the school multiple times a week) and there's a lot of extracurricular programming (events to involve parents and grandparents) that we've really enjoyed. The Chinese New Year event was very special where they brought in a lion dancer and the kids put on a show with the guidance of the teachers. We've built a bit of a parents community as well - very strong sense of community among the parents. We all seem to be very busy on the professional front while being like-minded in how we love and invest in our children.

From day one, he felt supported and cared for by the teachers, who created a warm and nurturing environment. The activities were thoughtfully designed and engaging, helping him grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. One of the most delightful surprises is that our son now can sing songs in three languages--English, Spanish, and Chinese. Most importantly, he looked forward to school every day and built so many happy memories. We're incredibly grateful for this positive experience and highly recommend MGP to any family!

The people at The Gardner School of Oakbrook Terrace have helped to raise our daughter to be the beautiful, smart, hilarious, creative, sweet little 5-and-a-half-year-old lady she is now. These women have changed her diapers, fed her nutritious meals, played with her, read to her, soothed her, encouraged her, loved her, taught her, shaped her, and helped her grow in every way possible. They've helped me be a better mom (& teacher, too). They've helped my husband in myriad ways as well. The teachers, administrators, and other staff are supportive and caring in all their interactions. The administrators were understanding whenever "life" happened and you needed to bend protocol to make all the things happen, whatever they might be. In our case, when our daughter was an infant, we actually pulled her out of TGS for a 6-month period because she was getting sick so often and so intensely. (Former preemie with low immune system plus she had the stereotypical childhood recurring ear infection.) When we decided we wanted to have her return, TGS welcomed us back with open arms. And...no matter what...every day during high traffic/morning drop-off/evening pick-up times, one of the administrators was there with a smiling face to greet parents and families at the front door. That meant more than it might seem on the surface. First of all, there were plenty of days where I blew into the building in quite a mood from my own long, trying school day with 100+ kids, but after I was greeted by a smiling Ms. Natalie, Ms. Jen, or Ms. Brittany and walked to my daughter's classroom, that interaction had managed to shift my focus to what kind of day my child had. Second, consistency is key with children and at TGS, it's demonstrated even in this area. Third, knowing you can count on that presence at a particular time makes it simple to plan quick verbal check-ins with TGS staff. The teachers were forever gracious about everything, including me dropping off incredibly late in the summer. :-P Enrichment teachers like Coach Janelle helped our daughter explore ballet, gymnastics, and theatre in a friendly, safe environment. We counted on Chef Nicole to prepare and serve tasty, healthy food several times a day every day & she always delivered. Most of all, we knew that daily our daughter's classroom teachers were doing absolutely amazing things, instilling in her a love of learning and an understanding of how school works... Ms. Angelika, Ms. Abbey, Ms. Tameka, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Angela, Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Cassi, Ms. Adriana, Ms. Ann, Ms. Anna, Ms. Lonnisha, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Elyse: you are forever in our hearts. Beyond everything mentioned above, these women at TGS Oakbrook have always understood who our daughter is. That means they know what she responds well to and what she needs in order to feel safe, loved, & happy. It also means they knew what gaps needed to be filled and what she needed to work on. So at TGS, she has learned soooo much about how to be brave, to write, to play with friends (or to play alone when she's not feeling it!), to wash your hands at all the right times, to listen when others speak, ... Because of TGS Oakbrook and the women who work there, my daughter will walk into kindergarten at our neighborhood school the most prepared she could possibly be. And for that, we are forever grateful.
