I got my wedding dress cleaned and preserved here at Grace Wedding Gown Specialists back in September 2017. It took them 4 months due to a busy season, and I finally got my dress back in January 2018. They did an excellent job with cleaning my wedding dress, especially at the bottom, as I was wearing the dress all day and all night during the wedding. The preservation job is great, it is nicely put in a big box, and the window clearly features the beautiful dress, which is awesome. Service is great, they ensure to keep me up to date with the status of my dress, and e-mails are answered promptly. They also offered to clean my veil and add it in the preserved box for free. Prices are reasonable, and obviously paying a bit more to clean and preserve the most important dress in my life is so worth it! Paid almost $400 to clean and preserve a big ball gown. I was referred here after purchasing my dress at The Brides' Project. Grace did an amazing job on cleaning my wedding dress. She can probably use her expertise to get even the most stubborn stains out of crisp whites. The girls at The Brides' Project estimated it might cost about $120 but when i saw Grace she bumped it up to $200 due to the many layers on the dress. That's almost an extra $100 in cost. If I had known I wouldn't have purchased a dress that would be that much more complicated to clean to bring the price up to a brand new dress. She lowered it to $150 cash without the coupon they give you, which was reasonable. Grace called back next week letting us know the dress was available for pick-up. Unfortunately I couldn't go but my mom picked it up and Grace had again asked her for $200 instead due to the amount of work. After a lot of back and forth, Grace decided to honour the price she had originally given us which I respect. However, there needs to be something said for professionalism. read more

Sad because my sister took her $5000 Kleinfeld wedding dress there to be cleaned ahead of her getting alterations as it was a floor sample. The first appointment we made with the cleaners was cancelled (due to a family/personal reason which I understand) the second appointment we made I went with my sister for the consultation. The cleaning cost $250 and they seemed to be very particular about the layers in the gown and the damage etc. We were confident we had left the dress in the right hands. When we got it back the delicate sequin layer seemed to have shrunk. Even 2 different seamstresses pointed this out in fitting consultations. The dress is layered with satin, then a thin fine sequin layer followed by tulle on top. The sequin layer was noticeably 2 to 3 inches shorter than its satin underlayer. The dress did not come like that or else many people that helped choose the dress would have noticed this unsightly defect. My sister called the cleaners and their excuse was that the layers of a wedding dress are often different lengths and if 1 layer were to shrink they would all shrink. Umm no. The way the dress is designed is that the outer layers are layered on top of the inner ones. The entire dress is layered with the delicate sequin layer so the train is also to be completely covered in the sequin layer as well. Also how can a cleaner say all layers would also shrink? Different materials and fabrics react differently. A wool sweater will shrink much more than a cotton one. This has caused a lot of additional alterations cost to my sister as the body of the dress has bumps which need to be taken apart and redone by the seamstress. A very sad outcome for a bride that is already stressed enough. They did not offer any compensation or own up to their mistakes. I feel that they rushed or did not take care of the gown properly because the owners were going through personal issues which I won't mention but it's unprofessional that a customer has to suffer as a result. Also they returned the dress on a flimsy wire dry cleaning hanger which was obviously not strong enough to hold up the dress. We brought it on a nice sturdy hanger which would have been nice to get back. read more

After searching online for places to clean my wife's wedding dress, we decided on Grace's because of the great reviews online and the fact that they specialize in wedding gown cleaning. The experience and cleaning did not disappoint! We went in for a consultation where Nadine took a look at the dress and explained the many stages of cleaning and what goes on behind the scenes. I was putting off getting my wedding dress cleaned because a) I couldn't find anywhere that was close to where I lived and b) It was turning out to be a fortune to get it (just) cleaned at the very minimum. I found Grace through a quick google search, and pretty much went by the yelp reviews. I was not disappointed, Granted it was a little out of the way, but the customer service I received was exceptional. I gave the store a call, and spoke to one of the girls who worked there. She gave me a rough idea of how much the cleaniing process costs but advised that I come in with the dress for a free consultation to get a more accurate picture of what cleaning would be needed and the cost. I was happy to drop by on the weekend to have the dress inspected. Grace talked me through the process and she sounded like she knew what she was doing. the price she quoted was below what I was anticipated. It came up to around $285 for cleaning and preservation before discount. They have a $25 voucher online on the website. So I ended up paying $260 - which is not bad for a full lace gown, shrug and veil. Grace contacted me a few of weeks later to come in and inspect the dress before she packs it in a sealed box. I was pleased with the result and it look good as a brand new dress. I just collected the final product this weekend. The box has a little window that you can see the dress through. I was looking into getting my wedding dress properly dry cleaned after my wedding and started researching online about wedding dress cleaning and preservation in Toronto. I found Grace Wedding Gown Specialists online and decided to give them a call. I got answers to all my questions and then arranged a drop off date. The location is in Scarborough, so a bit out of the way of the downtown core but I think the 25 minute drive was worth it. I dropped off my wedding gown on the arranged date and got to meet Grace for the first time. She was so friendly and took the time to tell me what my gown would need to be properly cleaned and preserved - about 3 cleanings. Which is why the whole cleaning and preserving a wedding gown is costly, the work that goes into getting it back to as close as before you wore it for your wedding day is not an easy process. I watched the online video on the website which was helpful as it explained all the steps that the gown goes through before being preserved in acid free tissue paper and a box with a clear plastic window for viewing. Grace took note of what specific areas of my gown needed special care and said she'd give me a call so that I could come back to take a look at my wedding dress all clean before it was boxed. She also told me that I could bring in my veil to be boxed with the dress. When my dress was clean a few weeks later, I returned to inspect it before it would be boxed. It was so spotless - the beading and embroidery were in mint condition, the dirt on the underside of the dress was gone and it looked beautiful! They made sure that I was happy with it, and I definitely was. I dropped off my veil and was told that it would be properly boxed and I would get a call as to when I could come back and pick it up. It may seem a bit annoying to have to go on 3 separate occasions to do the drop off, return for inspection and then final pick up, but I am glad that they don't just clean the dress and box it up. I'd rather the chance to see my wedding dress and how nicely it was cleaned before it had been boxed up then not. I got a call from Grace the next week saying my dress was all ready for pick up. I went to pick it up on a Saturday and it was BUSY. I'd never seen it so busy because I always went on a weekday. There were about 4 other brides picking up their cleaned and preserved wedding gowns. Also, each time I went there before, I always saw a rack of wedding gowns that were hanging and waiting to be checked by their owners before being boxed. I could tell that a lot of brides bring their dresses to Grace Wedding Gown Specialists as well as trust their expertise. I'm really happy with the final product. I know that my wedding gown is properly cleaned (which gives me peace of mind) and it's professionally boxed up to museum quality standards. It's also a nice touch to be able to open the box and still be able to look at your wedding gown through the plastic window. Mine looks wonderful, probably as good as before I put it on for the big day. I also went to the website and was able to print out a $25 off coupon which I gave to Grace when I first dropped off my gown. The whole experience was great, as was Grace. You can tell she really cares about cleaning and preserving the wedding gowns and knows how important they are to brides that want to treasure such a special memory. When I first met Nadine I felt immediately at ease leaving my wedding gown with her. She walked me through the entire cleaning process ensuring I was comfortable with each and every step they were doing. At the half way make they even invited me in to ensure I was so happy with the cleaning results - which after two years of my dress sitting in our spare room was phenomenal - my dress literally looked like it was brand new. AMAZING - Grace Wedding Gown Specialists surpassed my expectations completely with how well they had cleaned my wedding gown right before my wedding day. I had worn the gown outdoors a few months before my wedding for a pre-wedding photoshoot, so it was stained on the bottom with grass, dirt, and various other debris. I brought the wedding gown to Grace Wedding Gown Specialists a few weeks before my wedding day, and Nadine from Grace's team did the initial gown assessment of what focus areas needed to be cleaned, if there were any tears/minor damages in the gown that I should let my seamstress be aware of and fix before the big day. Nadine was so warm, knowledgeable and friendly! She assured me that she and her team will make this cleaning an urgent priority due to the short turnaround time needed, and that she will walk her team through every aspect of my wedding gown in detail so they can create a strategy of which areas to tackle and how to protect the dress while it was in cleaning. I found Grace through the brides project website and decided to try her out since she's affiliated with a charity organization. I bought my dress off the rack to save money and was concerned cleaning it would make the total cost as much as a new dress since the store I bought my dress from recommended a cleaner that cost around 300-400 per gown. I had two dresses and Grace cleaned both for under 250! Since my reception dress was a sheath dress she gave me a discount and cleaned it like she would pageant type dresses. I didn't think they were that dirty to begin with but when Grace was done it looked whiter than white. Will definitely be taking my dresses back for cleaning and preservation! read more

When I searched "Wedding Dress Cleaners" in Google, one of the first links to pop up was for Grace Wedding Gown Specialists. They had a lot of good reviews on Google, so I decided to give them a call. I spoke with Grace's daughter, Nadine. She seemed friendly, knowledgeable and professional, so I decided to take my dress in for a proper quote. I met Grace and Nadine during my first visit to their shop. Both women were such a pleasure to speak with, it almost felt like catching up with old friends. They made me feel so special and cared for from the minute I walked in; I could tell they really loved what they did. They quoted me fairly, in the range that was provided over the phone (so I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off). To be honest, they're prices are a bit high. But you are getting better results from women who really know what they're doing. I never felt anxious or worried that my dress might be in the wrong hands, and I was willing to pay a little more for that peace of mind. I'm glad I did, because now I have a clean, preserved wedding dress that I will be able to enjoy and appreciate for the rest of my life. ... Note: If you looking to drop off your dress in 1 visit and pick it up a week later, then this isn't the place for you. From start to finish, the whole process took about 2 months and 3 separate visits to the shop (first visit to quote, second visit to inspect, third visit to pick-up).
